"I Think We're Alone Now". About 2 Tiffany fans; one with asbergers disease and the other an intergender. One hour. MUST SEE TV.
I had this on my list for a couple of months now and decided to watch it based on this. I have to say that it was...ummmm.....how shall I say it? UNNERVING! The trip to Las Vegas made was one of the most awkward scenes I have ever watched. Certainly a strange bunch. Also checked out Tiffany's playboy shots based on this - not bad at all.Watching Sparticus now. The women in this are incredibly attractive. So far the red head is leading the way for me.

I went to elementary school with spartacus's wife. Back then she was known as cookie but decided too go woth erin professionally since cookie cummings sound like a porn name.

If looking for something a little "steamy", check out 9 songs.
I was just coming (no pun intended) in here to post this movie. It's pretty much pr0n. sort of. There are elements that ensure it goes beyond the lable of softcore, but it is nothing like hardcore.I actually prefer this type of 'steamy romance' to your average hardcore pr0n. What says they FFA? Would you support more movies like this, or would you rather stick with the standard meat tenderization.I'll tell you one thing, your wife, or girlfriend, or whatever will watch this with you and like it. That could be a win win. I am somewhat surprised this type of movie hasn't become more popular.
I haven't seen this but it looks like there might be some excellent music.

My wife is way into Firefly. She exiled me to the other TV for several hours of forced sports-watching this weekend so she could watch it. Is it that good?
I really enjoyed it. Very good writing and clever dialogue characteristic of Joss Whedon. Interesting premise and the story/character arcs have solid foundation. On the downside it did not have much of a budget so the production values are kind of low and it didn't last even a whole season so I think some of the fanfare is based upon it's unrealized potential, which was significant.
I agree, hard to say it would have turned out as great as people think it would have. Even as awesome as Buffy & Angel were, they still had some bad stretches. There are a few clunky episodes, but for a show that only got 10 or so episodes before being cancelled, it showed huge promise. I loved it.
Serenity is on there too(movie version).
Firfly is that good. I was very pissed off at Fox for screwing the series over by playing it out of order and not giving it enough time to gain a gathering. I stopped watching fox for several years because of this.

She was very attractive. I was disappointed that she wasn't on screen more.

Exactly and this is why I posted it. It's not bad to put on with an alone night with your SO. I took full advantage twice and we only got through 3 songs. Still got more to go :lmao:

We cut the cable and the nearly 24/7 reality shows. I got my fix here.

I'm too lazy to go back through the thread, but I watched Party Down this weekend on what I remember being a recommendation from this thread. What a great show. I ended up watching the whole series in two days. :excited:

I'm sure its been mentioned before but Prison Break gets my vote. Just got done watching all 4 seasons on Netflix, instant queue. I thought it was a great TV series. Once I started watching I couldn't stop. I had to keep watching the next episode just to see what was going to happen next.

I've been the same way with Heroes lately. Currently in the middle of season 3. :blackdot:

I have been hesitant to invest time in either show. It seems that both start off really fast with a ton of promise and start to lose focus/direction pretty quickly and steadily decline until they got canceled after their fourth season.I know this can be said about a lot of shows but I find it really disappointing when shows show so much promise early on and fail to deliver on their momentum.

Watched Mean Streets last night for the first time. Lots of recognizable faces including Richie Aprile and Dr. Melfi's ex-husband from the Sopranos.

I've been watching the Office as I never got into it when it first came out. Love it. 30 Rock next I guess as that's another that gets good comedy reviews that I never had a chance to watch.

I've seen the first three seasons of Prison Break, really no interest in watching any more of it. First season was awesome, 2nd was tolerable, and third was a joke.I've only seen the first season of Heroes, really no interest in watching any more of it, but it was also very good.

I would definitely recommend Season 1 of both.

That's a problem for me because I have a weird compulsion where I have to see things through to the finish. Even if something sucks I will watch to the end because I have invested time in the beginning (yes I know it's like throwing good money after bad). I have walked out of two movies in my life, City Heat and Deadly Friend, (and for some odd, odd reason I want to revisit both) and I know I have sat through far worse since. So that puts me 80+ episodes into each series and I am not sure if I want to invest that kind of time when there are good shows out there (e.g. Lost) that I haven't seen yet.

If you like seeing things through to the end, don't start Lost. Probably the best 1st season of any show I've ever seen, a very good second season, and then around and around for another 4 seasons. This show was so good at creating mystery and asking questions, but when it came time to explain anything it failed miserably.

Lost was still a good show overall IMO. I barely remember Season 1 though and plan on watching them all again in order soon. It probably has a different feel the second time around.

It was a very watchable show. Even the seasons and storylines I didn't really care for had me staying up late and watching one more episode. Crack is addicting too.1st season was the only time a series actually gave me goosebumps.

Yeah I am a little worried about Lost too (never seen even a minute of a single episode but when I started to hear people talking about a 'Smoke monster' I figured the writers were just throwing #### against the wall to see if anything stuck). It seems pretty common that show creators put together really good ideas for a show concept and first season story arc but then take a wait-and-see-if-it-gets-picked-up approach before investing time deciding what to do if the show is a success. This leads to many (most) shows becoming stale and disjointed until they inevitably jump the shark and suffer a lingering death.

I know that every show cannot be Battlestar Galactica but I found it so refreshing that they had a clear vision from the beginning and decided to end the show while it was still delivering rather than let it wallow and die due to lack of interest.

1st season of Prison Break was some of the best TV I've seen. Awesome stuff.

Anybody else keep having Netflix change up the layout of their "browser"? I get used to one layout, then it changes, then again...I'm still on my 30 day trial and have had 3-4 diff layouts. Kinda sucks. Any advice?

Just watched the pilot movie of Galactaca. Good stuff so far
I think you're ahead of the game then. I really enjoyed the series but it took me the pilot and the first 3-4 episodes to comprehend what was going on. Love me some BSG.

The Pilot isn't in season 1?
The way it was originally aired they showed the pilot first and then started the season. I think on the discs the pilot is broken up as the first few episodes. I never remember right.

Spartacus is dragging. I'm halfway through the second to last episode and while I imagine I'll finish it eventually, it's not exactly pulling me in.

Started watching Lie To Me and as good as the show is, I imagine its a lot better when you can only see one episode a week like when its on cable TV. I watched 3 episodes back to back to back and while I adore Kelli Williams, the show is basically the exact same each episode.

I think I'll start up Prison Break next for a series. Ive been watching some of the NAtional Geographic docus and they are excellent.

I disagree. For me, season 1 was awesome on Lost, then season 2 was a disaster (while they tried to figure out what direction to take the show), then the rest of the seasons were very good. Not to the level of the first season, but above just about any other network drama.I'll remember some mental snapshots from that show for the rest of my life, like Charlie's hand.

Oh ####. Totally agree with this and can't believe I didn't post about it before. My wife and I watched this the other night and it was crazy. RIYL King of Kong.

I loved this show as much as anyone when it was on. But I don't think watching it now would be the same experience. Half the fun was the crazy theories you'd read online about what people thought was happening and would happen. You'll either love or hate the conclusion. I liked it, I thought it worked really well.

Unthinkable...not great but definitely shouldn't have been D2V.God I can't get enough of Samuel L. Jackson.
Oh man I thought it was awful. I love SLJ as well.
i don't care how many #### movies he makes, the guy who played Jules Winfield is cool.
I agree but this movie was bad. This coming from a guy who still watches SLJ because he is in The Long Kiss Goodnight.
Yea. Holy #### that was a bad movie. I wish I had those last 90 minutes back. Awful.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it. Michael Jackson's "This is it". If you can enjoy his music (and I do, the older stuff anyway) gotta see it. It's not following him around IRL or anything, but it is just rehearsal footage for his upcoming concert tour.

In the beginning I was like "Oh, they are just rehearsing the choreography and lip syncing to a backing track". Then I was like "WOW, that's the full band and he's really singing and dancing the whole time." It was great. I thought he and the stage manager's relationship was very interesting. They were very "please and thank you", very professional.

During "the way you make e feel" Michael is going back and forth with the musical director (and keyboard player) about the rhythm of the main keyboard part. Good stuff.

2 thumbs.

Definitely recommend "The Host". Korean monster movie, but really much more that just that. Funny, touching, action packed, and scary.....big thumbs up.

I stopped after season 2, just too much other better stuff to watch.

Just noticed "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" is now instant. Great movie. Love the whole trilogy.
Just got done watching a Park Chan-wook movie I hadn't heard of Thirst.

Pretty good Vampire flick. 10 times better than that Twilight crap.

Maybe I need to give this another try. I watched the first few episodes based on the hype and was disappointed. It simply isn't all that. And I'm a huge Buffy fan (own all 6 seasons on DVD) and Dollhouse fan (watched it religiously until they canceled it). Serenity was an average movie. The episodes of Firefly I saw were much the same. Not bad. Not great. Does it warm up after episode 5 or something?

If anyone is looking for some good chessy kung-fu to watch late at night, both Enter the Dragon and The Chinese Connection are available.

Now they just need to make Kentucky Fried Movie available....

I think Firefly is pretty much what I said in my quote above. The hype is based on its potential which was significant. The reality of the existing material is only above average. Although I think Serenity was above average and actually quite good as a stand alone feature.

Finally got around to watching Weeds. What I love most about Netflix is being able to go back and watch a good series that I missed for whatever reason while they were airing. I took in all 7 seasons of Lost and now I am really enjoying Weeds just as much. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it.

Also watched seasons 1 and 2 of Party Down, all of 24, and all of The Larry Sanders Show. Great stuff.

Can anyone recommend any other series? I have seen Arrested Development. That is my kind of comedy.
