Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (5 Viewers)

Finally got around to watching Weeds. What I love most about Netflix is being able to go back and watch a good series that I missed for whatever reason while they were airing. I took in all 7 seasons of Lost and now I am really enjoying Weeds just as much. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. Also watched seasons 1 and 2, all of 24, and all of The Larry Sanders Show. Great stuff. Can anyone recommend any other series? I have seen Arrested Development. That is my kind of comedy.
No idea if these are on Netflix or if you've already seen them (would be a bit suprised anyone missed these actually) but the series I'd recommend would be...DexterThe WireEntourageThe SopranosCurb Your Enthusiasm
Thanks. Have seen them all except for The Wire. Not on instant, but will add it to my DVD queue since it appears we enjoy the same shows.

I'm too lazy to go back through the thread, but I watched Party Down this weekend on what I remember being a recommendation from this thread. What a great show. I ended up watching the whole series in two days. :lmao:
 It may have been me hyping it. I loved it as well. Is there a season 3 coming?
Great show. Unfortunately Starz cancelled it and it seems pretty unlikely to be picked up by another network. Two great seasons though.

I thought the first season started out "meh" but had potential. Stuck with it and it grew on me. LMAO by the season finale. looking forward to the 2nd season queued up. Hopefully it doesn't go downhill like "Better Off Ted" did. Season two was a huge drop off there.

Can't remember the exact title, but it was basically Van Halen: The Early Years, one of those "unofficial" biography-type things.

Everyone knows the legend: Pasadena backyard party band that drew thousands to keggers; "discovered" by Gene $immons; blew Sabbath off the stage, etc.

But it's really cool to hear people who were there talking about how undeniable the band was. They were just the perfect storm of prior influences, attitude, and talent, and everyone associated with them knew that magic was happening right before their eyes.

Sometimes we need to be reminded.

Been watching Spartacus blood and sand. Very very good.
:lmao:Pretty much mandatory viewing for anyone that enjoys the 300/Sin City style.
Just finished watching the 5th episode of Spartacus: Gods for the Arena. I've read they aren't calling this the 2nd season but just a filler since the main actor was diagnosed with cancer. But i've read he's cancer free now and can resume filming :D

Starz ran the prequel while Andy Whitfield was to get better. Unfortunately, his cancer returned and he gave his blessing to re-cast the role of Spartacus. Enter a near look-alike in Liam McIntyre.http://www.genreaddict.com/news/australian...e-new-spartacus

You'll really dig Trailer Park Boys.

A number of good movies are scheduled to leave instant streaming on March 1st. Here are some, but not all:

Ace Ventura Pet Detective

The Warriors

Other People's Money

Year of the Dragon (I really recommend seeing this movie if you haven't already)

The Pelican Brief

Running Scared (the good one with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines)

The Presidio

The Devil's Own

Bugsy

Fat Head is a must watch if you're interested in health, every struggled with your weight, etc.

A little bit campy, but a great great documentary.

I think Friday Night Lighst is the best show I've seen on TV in recent years and they have season 1 through 4 on Netflix. All seasons are good.

About half way through the first season of Prison Break. This show is awesome. NOt sure how I never saw it before.

Do yourself a favor and just keep it to Season 1 only. S1 was definitely great and they should've ended it there. It went downhill quick.

Always liked the Presidio. I like the scene where Connery beats up Smasher from Over the Top with this thumb.

Thanks for whoever recommended Weeds. Outstanding. One of the best series I have ever seen. 9/10. Unique, refreshing, funny, well-written, well acted. I highly recommend it. All seasons available for instant view.

Watched the sci-fi movie 'Moon' last night. THought it was very good.

Watched 'The Warriors' a few days ago off a rec from here and was very disappointed. Couldn't watch it all, and had to fast forward a ways through it. Too boring and just too stupid IMO. The gangs were just too wimpy and not believable at all. Too dated. Just couldn't get into it.

Talk about worst posting ever. 5/5

Yet you gave it a perfect score.

I'm not so sure if I should be watching this before midnight. :lmao: #skinemax

I don't see the problem.

I don't know if this one has been mentioned or not yet, but I just started watching Survivors. It's a TV show from England about a flu that wipes out the majority of the worlds population. I've only seen the first two episodes, but so far so good!

Really liked "Exit Through the Gift Shop". Documentary with a twist I've never seen before.
Yep. Good stuff. Made better by the whole controversy surrounding whether Banksy is actually Mr Brainwash.
Wait, what?Is there a link to someone breaking this down?
There are lots of links about it. This one seems to break it down pretty well.Link

One thing that a friend of mine added to all the other coincidences was something about the actual documentary that Thierry made. If you watch it, yes it was all over the place and switched far too fast from shot to shot...but, it was actually a very well put together film. For someone with zero film making abilities, besides just shooting the shots, it seems unlikely that Thierry would have been able to put together such a thing.

UNNERVING! The trip to Las Vegas made was one of the most awkward scenes I have ever watched. Certainly a strange bunch. Also checked out Tiffany's playboy shots based on this - not bad at all.Watching Sparticus now. The women in this are incredibly attractive. So far the red head is leading the way for me.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I went to elementary school with spartacus's wife. OMFG, I had no idea that was her. I went to high school with Cookie!

Good point, and looks like a good read at first glance. Looking forward to diving into this thing. Thanks.
