Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (2 Viewers)

Traditionally, how long after a TV season ends does it take for the season to reach streaming? I'm asking specifically about The Office. I just watched all 6 seasons and know that they are near the end of Season 7. (is season 7 the final season?)

I'd say you're looking at at least another 5 months or so.

Steve Carell is done after this season so it might as well be over. But I don't know if they're going to try to keep it going or not. Hopefully they just end it instead of trying to drag it on like the did with Scrubs (the last season was a disaster). If you want to watch season 7 soon you should just find another site to watch it on. I have a pretty good site I use for TV episodes, send me a PM if you want the link.

What a great show. I ended up watching the whole series in two days. <img src="http://static.footballguys.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbup1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :thumbup: " border="0" alt="thumbup1.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Great show. Unfortunately Starz cancelled it and it seems pretty unlikely to be picked up by another network. Two great seasons though.

I thought the first season started out "meh" but had potential. Stuck with it and it grew on me. LMAO by the season finale. looking forward to the 2nd season queued up. Hopefully it doesn't go downhill like "Better Off Ted" did. Season two was a huge drop off there.
The only problem with season two is that Jane Lynch isn't in it (except for the last episode). Her replacement isn't as solid but it's still a good season.

"World's Greatest Dad". When I saw who wrote/directed it at the end I was surprised. Dark movie about a dad (Robin Williams) whose son commits suicide. Robin goes on to write his son's suicide note and things snowball from there.

4 starts.

American Zombie was interesting. Not scary really though. A "documentary" on the underground world of zombies who have become everyday citizens.

I watched my first to episodes of Spartacus last night. Too much 'junk' for my liking. Last night, I actually dreamed that I was in the male locker room of a club that my wife used to work at.

Watched Frida the other night. One of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time.

Plus Salma Hayek naked.

Really liked "Exit Through the Gift Shop". Documentary with a twist I've never seen before.
Yep. Good stuff. Made better by the whole controversy surrounding whether Banksy is actually Mr Brainwash.
Wait, what?Is there a link to someone breaking this down?
There are lots of links about it. This one seems to break it down pretty well.Link

One thing that a friend of mine added to all the other coincidences was something about the actual documentary that Thierry made. If you watch it, yes it was all over the place and switched far too fast from shot to shot...but, it was actually a very well put together film. For someone with zero film making abilities, besides just shooting the shots, it seems unlikely that Thierry would have been able to put together such a thing.
Good point, and looks like a good read at first glance. Looking forward to diving into this thing. Thanks.
Wow. I came here to post this suggestion. Just watched it in a Communication course and now have to tie i into basic principles of communication in a 20 page paper...

I'm only 1/3 of the way through it, and I don't remember much about the actual guy, so no spoilers, please. I can't wait back to it. Great TV, as long as you don't mind a lot of seemingly gratuitous male nudity.

I'm two episodes in on Season Two of The Tudors As hot as I think Anne Boleyn is, I'm looking forward to her downfall and watching Henry's descent. Good show. Does the actor get into a fat suit eventually?

Don't have time to do a write up at the moment, but Downton Abby was fantastic and greatly exceeded my expectations.

I'm sure it's already mentioned in here, but "The Union" is a good doc about BC's marijuana industry and how ridiculous America's prohibition of pot is.

I'm 2/3 through it with plans to try and finish tonight.

Entertaining enough but somewhat educational in that is seems to almost be showing us the grass roots beginning of the modern day terrorist network.

One thing however is the strange editing. It's a well done movie but with some just strange editing, like some stuff is just cut out. Many instances but for instance one scene shows two terrorist trying to shoot down a plane with rocket launcher. As they get into their car to get away the center of the front windshield looks like someone threw a rock threw it but it never actually showed this happening or the window being shot. The than drive off and the next scene you see them in the front window looks completely smashed out like someone had kicked the window out from the inside but they never show any of this. It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see in a "B" movie but nothing about the rest of this movie is like this. I'm really convinced that for some reason they were forced to cut scenes and I'd really like to know why.

The Warlords - 7/10

Pretty good for a movie watched at 2:30 in the morning due to a case of insomnia. :coffee:

I think I would like to learn more about the Taiping Rebellion.

I've been watching the first two seasons of the BBC series "A Touch of Frost", a great series about a sharp English police detective. There are 15 seasons,so I'm hoping the quality of the writing doesn't dip as I get further into them.

Every season of Scrubs is now available. Huge
Getting addicted to this. On season two now.
Great early seasons, much more drama than comedy. Kind of flips and becomes a comedy with some drama in the middle seasons. So much so that it's kind of silly at times. Then it goes back to it's roosts the last few years, loved the "final" season 8."Season 9" isn't the same show, it was a spinoff but ABC made them keep the Scrubs name and they shoe-horned some of the old characters in.

The new Comedy Central revived season 5 of Futurama is available now. I didn't think it was possible, but it's actully funnier than it was on Fox. They can go a lot farther and be more risque with the jokes.

A bit hokey, but I liked Legend of the Seeker season 1. A show that is really improved by watching in HD since it's filmed in New Zealand. Amazing visuals.
I'll second this one. Stunning environments and a great show to boot. Shame it didn't get a 3rd season, but at least it didn't end on a cliffhanger.

Just watched the pilot movie of Galactaca. Good stuff so far
It is.I think I am going to invest my time watching BSG for the third time before starting on lost.
I am not big on sci fi. What is appealing about this show? Story line and acting that good? I may have to give it a shot.
Good storyline, solid acting, great production values, great music, great drama.Season 1 was just ok, it really hit its stride in season 2 and on (with the exception of the middle of season 3).

Some good "guy" stuff on Netflix WI now:

This Is Spinal Tap

Escape From New York

Death Race 2000 (original)

The League: Season 1

Zapped!

Banksy's Coming to Dinner

Tons of MST3000 and WWE stuff.

Couple of Bill Hicks DVDs as well.

Rescue Me is now on, which has been a welcome addition. I got through the first season of Prison Break but feel no compulsion to keep watching it. Got through the first couple episodes of Weeds and while its entertaining, there isn't exactly a lot of activity going on. Watching Rescue Me from the beginning is giving me a great appreciation for how AWESOME the show was in its first few seasons.

Just watched "Azorian: The Raising of the K-129". Anyone who's read Blind Man's Bluff or has any interest in cold-war submarine activity will love this documentary.
