Are you thinking of Gracepoint? It was the American version of Broadchurch. David Tennant was also in Gracepoint, along with Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad). It was only one season.

We started Invasion on Apple last night. first 3 episodes dropped, new eps every Friday. I don't think we finished the 1st ep (started it late).
Sam Neill headlines, but the rest of the cast seems pretty decent so far. Looks like it could be decent, even if it's a slow start so far setting the pieces up.

I tend to not go for meta culture, and this one seems in that boat. I tried it out too and didn't get far...but it was late at night so I'll likely give it another shot based on the love its gotten in here

I don’t think I’ve ever seen acting this good In a mini series. I don’t know if I’ve ever used the word “powerful” to describe something on TV, but this thing is pretty deep.

We've been catching up on sitcoms we missed the first time. Parks and Rec, Community, and 30 Rock. We've finished the first two and enjoyed both. We're only on season 3 of 30 Rock, but after a slowish first season it has really hit a nice pace in seasons 2&3.Looking for 30-minute show recommendations. Can be any genre.

Dopesick is riveting. The story is so well told, absolutely amazing thus far. The latest episode (S1:E5 "Whistleblower") is going to be tough to top. Hopefully they can land this plane as gracefully as the show has taken off.
Based on your list of likes, I'd recommend "Killing Eve", "Shrill", and would also echo Gianmarco's suggestion of "Mr. inbetween". All three of these are on Hulu.

These both have lead characters that are deeply flawed and not always "nice", but very well written and acted and ultimately very funny and satisfying ...Looking for 30-minute show recommendations. Can be any genre.

It is a remake of an earlier Brit show but I havent watched that one yet so cant compare.

We finished Squid Game and liked it. Something different at least and kept us entertained throughout, although I did fast-forward a lot in the first 2 episodes. I actually didn't expect to continue at that point but I'm glad I stuck it out. I didn't have an issue with the ending like some others seem to have had.
