***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread***

Cartoonish or not, that RPG into the bikers was unexpected and awesome. I guess if you don't like the show, go watch Transporter 1,2  or 3 (or for that matter just about any action movie) and tell me how many times the main actor could not possibly have survived his/her predicament. It's the same thing. I mean The Transporter magically survived a plane crash into the ocean. :lmao:

I'm surprised by how many people were surprised by the RPG into biker gang. As soon as ONE guy led Darryl to the back of the truck, I said to my wife....here comes Darryl with the RPG."

It really wasn't that big a stretch.

Some of the other complaints are a stretch by folks who simply wanna complain. Darryl is a certified badass...it hardly strains credibility that he could take out one guy silently. And what camera angle shows that the gang could see the body/fight?

Some legit points about noise re. distractions, but certainly nothing new to the series. If those relatively minor inconsistencies bothered someone with this episode, I can't imagine how that person watched the series to this point to begin with (unless it was ONLY to complain in here?)

Seems the Walking Dead was just a bit to real for some

Quote

A 911 call came in at 7:28 p.m. from a Great Falls neighbor who heard “screaming from a house about someone having a gun,” according to Great Falls Police Department notes from the call. A second caller helped the seven responding officers locate the house.

McGraw said he later found out the show was the midseason premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, an hour-long drama chronicling life during the zombie apocalypse.

Based on the outcome, no report is required for the call. The call notes do not include what the family had to say about the police response.

:lmao:

Finally finished it this morning - so much bad about this episode that I'm not even going to bother picking it apart. That's ok though, just like the A-Team I will keep watching.

IMO, as I wrote earlier, there were silly things top-to-bottom- more-so than the typical laughable moment in any given episode.

I didn't, but did anybody else complain about Daryl taking the guy out?

in the scene, the guy's dead body is to the side of the truck, on the side of the road. nothing between body and triangle o' bikers.

and yeah- as soon as they pulled up on that gang last episode, it was only a matter of time before hte RPG came into play... was looking forward to it and glad it happened- especially to let the ginger get his line in.

Yea, I mentioned above that didn't bother me at all.. That gang has probably done this a hundred times before with no incidents..

After awhile it becomes routine that the people are going to just hand things over.. At that point they more interested in whether Talky boy was going to pop Ginger, the Woman or both so gave no thought to Daryl and the other thug.

I buy that. I don't buy Daryl killing the guy- in plain sight- and then getting an RPG to shoot at them without them noticing.

Although his body was lying "in the open" My guess is the killing took place behind the truck.. When your watching how Ginger and the woman are reacting to Talky boy, and they are on the other side of the truck from where the body falls, and from where Daryl shoots the RPG, the idea no one looked over isn't any more dis-believable then the RPG being attached to the back of the truck, and not in the cab with them..

Oops, just entered my own complaint.. :oldunsure:

I watched the scene again and I can see where it would have been hard to see around that side. If you see where the dead guy was, he was almost at the white line on the left side of the truck and Abe/Sasha were to the right of the truck and everyone was looking at them. Also, you can see from the angle with the bikers and behind the truck that the road bends away from the side where Daryl was.

That said, it is still just a TV show and they left after showing the guy, so likely just a placement of the body so you could see him not realizing it may have been too out in the open. I can't say for sure that they couldn't see him.

Also, based on the scene and every biker looking at Sasha and Abe when nibble man said he was going to shoot, it would have been really easy for Daryl to pop out and shoot the RPG without them noticing. No problem at all with that.

The whole Daryl back of the truck/RPG thing is par for the course.

One bad guy to escort Daryl to the back of the truck when there are about 10 more just sitting on their bikes pointing their guns at Sasha and Sgt. Slaughter.    Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, but if you've been jacking hundreds of different people over multiple times in the post Apocalypse you'd get lazy and complainant.  Makes perfect sense and they do stuff like that in the movies all the time.  Have you seen those dinosaurs in Jurassic Park?  No way anybody ever gets away from those things.

Just because other movies or TV shows do stupid stuff does not mean it's OK.

i'd be happy if every episode had rpgs, burning lakes of zombies, machine guns, little kids getting their skull eaten by zombies and a montage of zombie murder by blunt instruments.  If they could make the montage about 3 minutes i'd prefer it, or just run it in the background during credits.

IIRC, this was the first time we've seen a kid very graphically eaten in the show. There've been walker children occasionally, plus what happened to Lizzie & Mika, but most of the times the kids perished offscreen.

what's weird pointing this out is i haven't heard anybody mention the gratuitous nature of Carl getting his eye shot out. I remember hearing people wonder a year or 2 ago how in the world they could do that on cable TV, and it passed by like it wasn't a huge deal. Weird now that i think about it

That's why I loved the Montage.. It was as if the Comic Book came to life

As for the "Major Characters to be killed off".. It's coming.. Just unknown at this time who..... The going bets are either Glenn or Daryl.. I just don't see Carol or Michonne "biting it" right now.. And others like Abraham, Sasha, etc.. aren't, IMO, in the "Major" category just yet..

Glenn has been "saved" twice now so having them actually finish the job this time just seems overkill .. so Daryl might be the one.. :oldunsure:

re: who may die this season:

I think the near death chances for Glenn are just false trails, but I think he still is killed by Lucele <sp?>. and Negan.

So in hindsight, the better plan would have been to burn all the walkers with gas while they were contained in the quarry vs leading them all out right past your new home.

I want to hate on Rick but when he went all postal on the swarm of zombies with only an ax, I couldn't help but

Back to this again?

Where would they have gotten the gas?  They didn't  have a TANKER TRUCK

You can try to explain anything in the show.  Maybe the walkers heard the gunfire, but then got distracted and started attacking the group again?  Maybe this...maybe that, but then you have this, and then that....

All speculation.  My point is that the show itself needs to show something happen if the same thing has happened before.  Be consistent.  If gunfire (one bullet that hit Carl) distracts the zombies, then multiple gunfire needs to have the same affect, and they should have showed it. Instead, they showed no effect and the zombies kept coming after the group.

I'm a huge fan of the show, and will never stop watching.  But while this episode was entertaining, there were many scratch your head moments, most of which has been stated here. Sure, you can try to dismiss them and make a cover story of what really happened, but most of see the errors and just shrug our heads.

You seem to also be forgetting how loud the walkers are and how the also distract each other.

They were driving cars around, clearly they had access to gas.  Taking the walkers out of their perfect little trap and walking them near your home was stupid even in a zombie's-eat-people-reality.  Regardless, it led to some awesome walker killing and the death of that little mamas boy so I'm good with it.

Exactly. If they can wipe out that many so easily they should never fear the walkers again. And I'm sure they'll always have a zombie gut poncho nearby for when they go out on patrols and such.

Exactly.  I love the show but the whole fire thing still bothers me. So now everyone should carry a molotov cocktail with them for if they get in a jam and need to get away or kill off a bunch of walkers.

They didnt get attracted to Hershels farmhouse fire?  In fact they are walking away from it.

Here at the quarry the walkers are not walking towards the ones on fire.

Then lastly, wouldnt the water have put the fire on the zombies out before they were dead?

Except they didn't take them out of their trap.. It was the plan, but they were not ready to do it yet.. and who knows what might have changed.

The Semi-truck falling into the pit, thus allowing the Walkers to start exiting, accelerated the need to lead them away from town.. :welcome:

Only if the water was deep enough for them to go under.. If they just stood there staring at the fire while burning, sooner or later head would explode..

Either that, or since they never showed us the final wiping out of all the rest of the zombies walking around, those zombies in the water were shot in the head from the shoreline..

They've discussed the fact that the walkers are attracted to the constantly moving light and noise of fire. If they can ensure the fire burns long enough i'll buy it as a feasible zombie solution. Loved the Carl effects they showed over talking dead too, it was kinda dark and hard to see in the actual show so seeing them in detail afterward was cool.

one of the strongest points of this show is the special effects and zombie make up...some of the best ive ever seen in any zombie movies or shows

Expired gas sticks to zombies BETTER imo.  Its like post apoc napalm.

Pretty sure they could've found plenty of it if they looked for it.

Also, gasoline isn't the only way to make a big fire.

I meant how easily about a dozen of them wiped out like 1000+ walkers without losing anyone. From here on, if like 4 or 5 of them come upon like 20 or so walkers it should be a cakewalk to put them all down. Plus, add in the invisibility poncho and they're invincible.

It was a surprise attack from 6 different fronts. Plus the horde of 1000+ was distracted away by the lake of fire. In any event, their zombies. Easy targets. Its not like they were fighting the Enter the Dragon cast. These are easy kill shots. Just have to watch the mouth and it is an easy beat down.
