Absolutely, because at the end of the day, teams want to win. He is one of the best WRs in the game even though he's bat chit crazy. Now if a team is already a contender, no reason to risk poisoning your winning culture, but if you're desperate to climb out of mediocrity or suckville, you absolutely take the chance. That's why I think NE and KC won't touch him, but Snyder, Jerry Jones, and Pete Carroll...game on. Edited September 7, 2019 by ffmail4me

Always shook my head on that one. Hopefully he has a cushion left. For some stupid reason I don’t want to see the guy totally F himself.

Anarchy99 6,159
Brown can't be cut and claimed on the same day and the league doesn't process contracts on Sundays. So he can't sign anywhere until Monday. Meaning he won't be playing in a Sunday game this week. Theoretically, one of the teams playing on MNF could sign him on Monday and have him suit up that night . . . but that seems like a long shot.

cap'n grunge 7,631
Haven't had time to read the last several pages but after catching up with the events of the past few hours... Obviously this is all on AB. He brought it all.on himself. But in the end after what looked like a possible de-escalation and an attempt to move forward the team informed him none of his contract was guaranteed moving forward. His request for and acceptance of release was guaranteed at that point. Was that necessary? Couldn't they have at least gave it a couple weeks? Again AB caused this BUT not sure Oakland sent the right messages at the end. Seems very mixed messages with Gruden supporting and the front office firing off fines and ultimatums. It can work with a fringe talent like Kaep but no way with AB. He won't be blackballed. But his value is going to be less than his Raider's contract was. Any team taking him on knows he is a head case to manage--if you can't co-exist with Gruden and the Raiders you must really have problems. Plus, he is coming onto market when season is set to start and teams have their plans and their rosters set and he will have to learn playbbook and adjust to new QB. Given his age as well, I think his value will be far less. I wouldn't sign him unless the contract had provisions like no social media use, and if he misses games for bad conduct he voids the rest of the contract. I am guessing most GMs will require similar protections. And total value will be less than it was.
