Sources today

WWE IS TRYING TO BRING RUSEV BACK. My sources say that LASHLEY is behind the push as his fewd with Drew didn’t go nowhere. Rusev is said that he doesn’t want to wrestle in the foreseeable future.

One of the USOS brother’s approached VKM and expressed his concerned about not wearing masks, VKM agreed with him. Jay Uso approached VKM in the set of tapings that included family members to express his displeasure with the situation and told him he would wear a mask All the time even on TV. The way Jay got around VKM was that he put him in the position of not having any top card performers for Summerslam or worse thru the entire summer if they wouldn’t protect themselves. VKm agreed and make it mandatory along with fines and/or suspensions

Source: A Nexus relaunch is taking shape that will climax at Summerslam. There was a plan for it to happen at WM, but Covid happened. Rumored Mamés are Gabriel, Young, Slater, Bryan. Wwe desperately looking for an answer to the Inner Circle.

That just shows how bad of a booker Ole was, then.  Making your world champ look bad just to show him who was boss? That is so stupid.  I still remember watching that match and thinking, "how does Flair look this bad against freaking JYD?"  I guess props to Flair for making JYD look like a million bucks, but it made no sense considering Flair's status at the time and the fact that JYD hadn't won a big match on TV against anyone in literally years (and was never a main eventer anyway).
While true in WWF and the NWA, he was all that and a bag of chips in Mid-South.  He was a 3x holder of the Mid-South Louisiana title and a 4x North American Champion (the promotion's top title), besides being an 8x tag team champion there.  He sold out the Louisiana Superdome during his time there and is widely considered to be the first black man to be a top star in a promotion.  Bill Watts saw only one color: GREEN. Hands down, JYD drew money and made money.  His famous feud with the Freebirds where Michael Hayes blinded him with hair cream got so much heat on the Freebirds they needed police escort into and out of town.

Nexus w/o Wade/Ryback/Husky Harris

Good luck.

Ryback isn't anything special never was never will be. He claims he got an offer to do the Nexus thing at Mania but turned it down and another offer. if Ryback was as good as he thinks he is why hasn't he wrestled anywhere on the Indies since leaving WWE or worked IMPACT since they take anyone that has a beating heart and can walk? The only times he's showed at Indy events is on a last minute thing because the original person couldn't show up nor the back up. He's incredible difficult to work with and he's unsafe in the ring.

As for Wade yeah agree here they missed the boat. I think WWE has destroyed Bray enough already. Plus we all know Cena 110% buried the Nexus Talent anyway.

It's possible he suffers from CM Punk disease - overestimating his value in the wrestling market.

The booking of Flair in 1990 prior to Sting's win didn't help him either.  Flair was beaten by Luger in both PPV matches only have to the Horseman save him both times, and even in a match in the last Clash before Sting won it, Flair was dominated and looked overmatched against freaking Junkyard Dog, so by the time the Sting match came along, Flair no longer had that aura of invincibility; he looked like an old man who knew he had no chance to beat Sting once his Horseman were neutralized by the stipulations of the match (Sting's buddies getting to surround the ring and Ole being handcuffed to El Gigante).

Not at all. I know people who worked with Ryback personally in WWE. The dude was a low life one of those who didn't think his "Ish stunk" types. He's also a hypocrite and a do as I say not as I do. He also has some heat after going after Bryan Alvarez after he made comments on Nia injuring Becky and others. Plus he was not well liked at all. I will say Pat Buck was running his stuff for awhile and asking for more money then Ryback thought. There was an incident with a YouTube I talked about here where we figured out when Buck had the issues with CAW that Buck was behind the messages of asking for outrageous amounts. Ryback thought YT personality was lying to them but turns out it was all Pat Bucks fault. Ryback has yet to make an apology to the guy he called a liar and even said on his own podcast after the YT publicly apologized  (some comments he said on his own YT podcast) and said stay positive don't do anything negative. Went on his own show the next day and said he hoped the YouTuber died in a pit of spikes. Yeah real swell guy. Can't admit when he's wrong, hard to work with, thinks he's a future John Cena, dangerous in the ring, hypocrite etc. Gee can't imagine why anyone wouldn't sign ya Skippy Boy

Ringside News sends lengthy claim to most wrestling site news outlets accusing a couple of wrestling journalists of stealing "their inside info". (Which everyone knows that's all Ringside is known for).

The wrestling sites all know Ringside News steals everything & always makes stuff up. LIterally the worst wrestling site on the internet. Well these sites receiving the email all forward to the journalists mentioned..........because all wrestling sites despise Ringside like everyone else.

Two of Ringside's (current/former) writers were already shown in the past to subscribe to a pretty well known wrestling news Patreon.    Where they'd obtain news......then post it as their own on RIngside's site.

Ringside is the worst of the worst.

@JonAlba

Been saying this for years, but as a reminder: Ringside News makes up content. All the time. Straight up makes things up. They steal content. Rarely attribute. I won't tag the individual who wrote this because he doesn't deserve it. But this is laughable.

Heath Slater got the Matt Hardy Treatment

Heath Miller Aka Slayter was so respected backstage that he received the Matt Hardy,Moxley treatment. They put him back on wwe tv one final time to give him a rub and a push for his next adventure. This has been only done a handful of times only for well respected worker

Tazz brings back the FTW Belt and Crowns Brian Cage FTW Champ
Taz needs to step back because I seriously wonder who the wrestler is here.  Taz looks like he's trying to get himself over rather than Cage.  It doesn't help that Cage does nothing but stand around and (like last night) have his thumbs stuck in his pockets like a roided-up Orange Cassidy.

ETA: The situations between Taz with the FTW title then and Cage now aren't even remotely the same.  In the day, Shane Douglas wouldn't give Taz a sniff of the ECW title, so Taz said screw it and created his own.  By contrast, Cage has been with AEW since the end of May, won 4-5 squash matches and the Poker Chip Battle Royal and has only had his title match delayed due to Steve Corino virus.  Not.  Even. Close. To. The. Same. Thing.  :wall:

Watched clip of segment and agree.

Major announcement was bringing back a title that MAYBE 5% of their audience remembers?  I am old enough to remember that period of time and have no recollection of it.

I like the Cage addition in general (it's not a former not over WWE guy). I don't really understand them claiming they have rankings/claiming a product that's sport......then immediately giving title shots to newcomers.

I agree; that is a substantive criticism I have of AEW.  Rankings mean things, except when they don't.

WWE has sent a cease and Desist to AEW for using the FTW belt. WWE believes they own the belt and title after a unification. It was sent yesterday

I think all the above guesses were in the 80's. (Flair/Steamboat ended in 89 I believe; Mania 3 Macho/Steamboat was in 87 if my math's correct

All the other guesses were great.  But they weren't Ultimate.
I can't go that far as to call it the greatest, but it was a really good match, especially given the Warrior's limitations.  Many dog Hogan for not being a great pure wrestler, but he knew how to work a crowd as good as anyone ever, and knew how to tell a story with a match and he did the heavy lifting in that one.

Except WrestleTalk reports Taz owns the IP to the title and ECW has nothing to do with it.

If true, Vince can pound sand.

I agree I think Tazz owns the rights to the title anyway. I don't believe if I'm not mistaken ECW ever recognized the FTW belt as a legit title.

They never did.  Then again, that's it's function; as a way (then) to get Taz over and portray him sympathetically versus the heel Douglas.

I miss going to shows.

Not like I went every week, but once or twice a month, 20 bucks got me a second row seat, bag of Sour Patch Kids, a drink and 2 solid hours of live wrestling fun. Pick up some merch from my favorites plus whoever was visiting that week, have a word or two, and go about my evening. Same feeling as seeing a well done community play or an open mic for a good singer-songwriter. Can't wait to do it again.

Rumor going around Billy might not bring NWA back. 😢 Wouldn't be shocked as Lagana was the backbone of the company. And they've completely shut down all production since he resigned

Starks and Dice gone. Rumors of what they were offered as contract to stay is almost unbelievable. Not going to fault Billy for keeping within a budget.... but anyone would be a moron to sign any contract and give up options elsewhere in the process.

Eli Drake playing on twitter about going over to AEW. Nick Aldis would be the biggest fish left out in the cold as he is tied to the 10 Pounds Of Gold. Will be interesting where he goes.

Since several outlets have now picked up our boy SRS's Exclusive....

SRS reported NWA offered Starks $1000/mo contract to stay. Offered $250/mo contract to Zicky Dice.

Jeez, for that kind of money, I could have the two of them wrestle in my backyard on a trampoline and make a profit. There has to be something more.

Also, wouldn't pay that much for Dice.

There was going to be a International Wrestling Cartel show near me back in April that was essentially a night of legends - DDP, Arn, Al Snow, etc.  It got wiped out and is now (tentatively) set for April 2021.
