Superbowl Snacks/Food - what are you having? (2 Viewers)

Couldn't find what I remembered to be a Superbowl food thread.

I am getting ready to go out shopping for tomorrow. Just the wife and kids but its always a giant gut-fest of gluttony and taste-good-but-mostly-bad-for-you-foods. I am not going all out spending tons of time cooking but will be doing some. On the menu currently:

- jumbo shrimp cocktail

- shrimp dip (lots of dill, garlic & mayo)

- buffalo chicken dip

- traditional nachos (one chip, one slice of cheddar, one slice of jalapeno - baked briefly in the oven)

- Guy Fietti's Frozen Smores Pizza

- dark chocolate covered kettle potato chips - regular and jalapeno chips

Fun, but just ok ...and missing bacon. What else would you add to this list?

Im making authentic meatballs and gravy for my girlfriend and her parents.

Her mom cooks italian often but they are from ecuador so she doesnt know how to do it properly

Im expecting it to be a big hit

Gotta work out a menu.

Thinking of going themed for some if it. Denver omelette-finger foods came to mind, either egg/cheese/ham/green pepper on toast points or stuffed in mushrooms. Gotta have a seafood hors d'oeurve for the Seattle folks. Maybe mix the two cities with coffee-crusted steak tips.

The lady friend may make chocolate Rice-Krispie treats in a football shape and buffalo-chicken meatballs. Could tell her to make chili or a dip too...

I've got a margarita I can add some food coloring to to get it that crazy Seattle neon green. Then maybe an OJ-based cocktail for the orange Broncos color.

I think Orange and Lime based drinks will go over well... got lots of Shock Top and I can find some Bud Light Lime and Lime-A-Rita too...

Nachos, but I'll be using the Judges chili as a topping.

I'm really looking forward to this.
These were really good.

Not sure what I'm going to do this year.

I made those atomic buffalo turds a couple of years ago, and it's a great idea. However, the vienna sausages are way too salty. Can someone think of something else to replace them with?

You can make them with almost any meat. I generally use tri tip but ribeye would suffice.

Found this old thread - always enjoy hearing what everyone is doing for Superbowl food. We are going with less variety this year.

- 2 kinds of wings

- Thai Lemongrass (2 day marinade)

- Crispy Honey Garlic Wings

Both are done in the oven. Love the Thai wings, never done either one before. I am amazed at how well the crispy wings turned out - you toss them in baking powder first.

- Homemade salsa (like Joe's old recipe with canned roasted tomatoes) & good white cheese dip

- Roasted Rosemary Cashews

- Onion butter ciabatta toast

BBQ wings, buffalo dip, potatoes/cheese/bacon/sourcream/scallions, chips and dip, veggies, and oh so much beer.

Some grandma slices from last night (super good, btw)... meatballs. oh, and absenthe. All other lixx are gone, and now we are drinking absenthe.

And by we, I mean me. Cause the wife is already passed out.

Did I mention, absenthe? :excited: :wall: :excited: :wall:

I made hummus and guacamole for snacking. Am smoking some chicken drumsticks and lamb chops for the main course.

And lots of Coors Banquet beer in honor of the Broncos.
