Stock Thread (8 Viewers)

Stock/politics crossover comment, possibly some bet taking:

Has Trump tweeted or spoken about the stock market slide being because of how the polls are showing favorably for Biden?

If not, I'll take any even money bet that says he will.

Well close today was a pretty big nothing-burger. Probably going to keep adding under 2, though. 3/4 Drive Shacks are open (Raleigh opened today) and golf courses in CA seem to be doing well.
I'm curious to know if social distancing is nearly as possible as on a golf course?

Pre-pandemic, me and a buddy wanted to open one of these with a bar attached and cocktail waitresses. We were going to name it, "Drink and Drive."

We should consider that the CYDY run up may not be due to possible COVID applications, but for cancer-related applications including the Breakthrough Therapy Designation for triple-negative breast cancer.

In terms of the vote, I am initially inclined to vote no.  They haven't given any specific reasons for the increase and to me, it seems likely that they will pay themselves in stock.  I am all for executives getting rich but I think they should do it more by increasing the stock price rather than paying themselves stock bonuses.

We have just about a month to decide.

My inclination is to follow you. But in the off-chance I get the COVIDs or cancer, I'd want them to look kindly at my application>

You know what would really suck? Leave your widow a million bucks earned investing and providing funding for break-though cancer drug, after you die of cancer and couldn't get the drug?

I am officially on a 2 week vacation at 4PM.

I need it badly....but it is comprised of closing on our new home we built (our forever home), a baseball tourney, moving into the new home when we return, getting our current home ready to list and sell.

Some vacation.
Sounds like fun!

Let's say the death rate holds as is.  Why do you need lemonade?  It's honestly at this point dare I say it....the flu.

Well lemonade is refreshing on a hot day for one.  Sometimes I get wild and mix it with some tea. But I’ve never had it assuming it would stop death.

No idea what that one means.

And do you still own CYDY or did you sell way too early?
It means my head was exploding at the notion of $700MM worth of this stock....

I held onto a whopping 5k shares.  Sold the rest for little profits along the way.  Should have held the whole damn thing,

Here's why it's not like a flu.  There's no vaccine or therapeutic (yet).  Death rate of flu is ~0.08% and we don't know where this one will be other than it's going to be significantly higher.  First death in the US was on Feb 29 and not even 4-months later there have been 122K+ deaths even after masks and lockdown precautions were taken.  The number of deaths for a season of flu has ranged from 20k-60k in the last 10-15 years.  COVID is also much more contagious.

Also, if you're hospitalized for COVID-19 with a severe or critical case and you recover, you will need years of physiotherapy and may never fully recover.  The damage to your internal organs is significant.  The flu is nowhere near as nasty.

That's why in the current state, COVID-19 is not even close to the flu.

Yes you should have held and bought more.  I can't press the buttons to execute the trades for you. Why do you hate money so much and put so little trust into my word?

Yeah, these are wealthy guys and I think all of them will vote no to the proposal unless management addresses our concerns.

That's not really true though.  CFR since May is trending towards flutown.

There might be a market overseas but the USA is just crushing this thing.

Don’t feed the troll.  Anybody who thinks Covid is a flu at this point is either trolling or not worth debating with. It’s killed twice as many people as the flu in 4 months with lockdowns and distancing, its brought the 2 biggest super powers on the planet to their knees and on the verge of economic collapse—and yet there are still hoards of people who just have decided to be dismissive of it and ignore all reality and data. Compile the opinions of the worlds smartest virologists, infectious disease specialists, and scientists and see what the overwhelming consensus is of covid vs the flu.  If Leronlimab keeps showing success treating covid- it would be a giant game changer in regards to the cultural impacts of our society and the impacts on the US markets would be meteoric.  In Orange County over half of our hospitalizations for covid are people under 60 and over half of the cases are people under 44.  This disease is no longer just for the elderly to worry about. More and more younger people are getting sick to the point of requiring hospitalization from it.  The biggest threat to Cydy is people in mass actually taking the virus seriously enough to distance and wear masks and massively reducing the spread.  I don’t see that happening in this country with so much of the population ignoring science, common sense and reality. That ignorance actually makes for a bigger reason to be bullish on cydy.

Let’s play a quiz game: how many days in the history of the universe have there been over 40,100 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States?

Anyone?  Anyone?

Here, I’ll help.  One.  Just one.  Today.

I wonder why they chose such a large amount.  It would have been much more palatable if they chose a 5% increase.

There have probably been many days with more new cases than today.

Today is the new record.

PS... before today, yesterday was the new record. (That’s not good).

Confirmed by tests, yes.

I highly doubt there weren't days actually higher than this before now.

(we weren't testing much for a long, long time)
Get this #### the f out of here. If you’re not talking stock and helping me get rich or praising the greatness of Chet, then I don’t want you here. At least a dozen other threads to bicker about covid

I have 20,700 CYDY shares

My millionaire number is $48.31/share

Wait a sec, we're all FBG's here, aren't we already millionaires?
