I know nothing about this, but just looked and tin is around $9/lb or $18,000/ton currently, so that price point to develop new reserves doesn’t seem like a huge increase, unless I’m misunderstanding.General Malaise said:Cobalt the metal ticked up again, coming up on 52-week highs last seen in Jan. 2020. Physical Co metal prices have been largely dormant but the velocity of upward price movement we are seeing now is interesting. We got a call from a broker this week looking for 150 tonnes of high grade cobalt from us (which is a BIG order) and the broker was representing investors (like us) which have been completely absent the last couple of years. Feels like a return to industrial/minor metals is a real and sustainable playable investment theme currently.
Anybody else looking at Tin? Like all metals of this ilk, demand isn't the primary author of price formation; it's supply and while demand for tin will be increasing the supply constraint is the important component. Here's a brief primer from a company (Alphamin Resources: AFMJF) we own and like quite a bit (and for you penny stock guys, an interesting name to add to your watch list):

Yeah, Keowee and Jocassee are both very nice and pricey. Just a bit remote for my tastes, not sure if we would ever do that. Certainly agree that lake > beach for one of these endeavors. I love the beach, but don't want to be the one on the hook for dealing with so much storm damage.stbugs said:Haven’t finalized anything but I have looked at Keeowee and Hartwell, which was because some homes in that area were actually on Hartwell. Article talking about the above $IMMRI’m not sure if this is why, but a question on a consumer satisfaction survey sent to new XBOX owners asked if they wished their controllers had the same haptics as the PS5. Could suggest Microsoft decides to upgrade.
link to article
“I applaud what they did with the controller. I think for all of us in the industry, we should learn from each other and the innovation that we all push on, whether it’s distribution of business model like Game Pass, or controller tech,” Microsoft Vice President of Gaming Phil Spencer told The Verge.
Why It’s Important: Xbox has a history of adding well-received features on other console controllers to its own, IGN points out. The gaming publication has called the PlayStation 5 controller one of the most impressive features of the new console from Sony, scoring it a 9 out of 10.
“Microsoft’s interest in these questions would suggest that they’re at least thinking about upgrading the next-gen controllers in the future, to line up with Sony’s offering in the current-generation,” writes IGN.
I played many gigs in Gainesville when I was 22-23 years old with my rock band in 1992/1993. Many many great nights of rock, women and other party favors. Yeah it is an awesome college town. The team is one of the best in the country. A very difficult team to make. He would have to be a preferred walk on. He has 2 years to get bigger, stronger and faster. My son is a classic middle infielder. And when I say classic I mean he will end up probably around 5’10-6’0 when he is done growing and a lean 155-160 pounds of muscle by 18 years old. A very good line drive hitter. Elite glove/hands but an average arm (2B/LF arm strength). His power will come later (when he get’s into his 20’s like most hitters). The competition in Florida is intense. Really intense. I give him a ton of credit for his persistence and hard work. He has a damn good work ethic. When he was 10 I told him “son, you're not going to ever be the biggest, strongest, or fastest guy out there. Hell you're never going to be the best athlete out there. So you know what that means?"Gainesville I hear has a good Baseball program and the social life even during Covid is pretty strong according to my son. We joined him pre-covid for the UF/Auburn game and the girls were at another level compared to my alma mater.
Personally, I care much more about having a first-party controller with back-paddles than I ever will about haptic feedback. Although, I'm sure game developers will find some cool uses for the PS5 functionality. I know at least one friend looking to switch platforms because of it.
Maybe he’ll get jealous and do a split tooCongrats man. Can you start focusing on motivating Bezos to take notes?

Yeah, I read up on them/through their latest when you first mentioned it. Just giving my perspective as a gamer who uses a $200 controllerOne of those articles mentioned a couple that specifically made their games around it already.
Just a reminder that this is being incorporated into the automotive space, too. Their largest segment is mobile. Gaming and auto is their potential growth, mobile will likely decline over time.
Still, I wouldn't say this is anything but risky. If you're in the nest egg protection stage of your life, I wouldn't do this one probably.

Good luck to your son Todem. Middle IF is a tough area to get recruited but it sounds like your son has the mindset and work ethic to make it happen. As he considered JUCO as an option? "Time to get to work"
He took that to heart and has kept that attitude. A team player. A team hitter. He takes first pitch strikes down the heart of the plate so a teammate can steal. He will lay down the sac bunts without question. He will rally around his teammates no matter what. Every team needs a player like my son. The question comes down to....will he have enough to catch the eye of a college coach that believes in him and is not all about the combine and measurable’s. He will never raise eyebrow's with his 60 time or his arm velocity. What he will do is make every play, give high quality AB’s at least 50-60% of the time, hit for a good average and move base runners. Things that are not as valued anymore in a general sense. The game has changed a lot. A lot of D1 coaches want all 6’3-‘6’5 studs who hit bombs. Simple as that. Hence why I feel strongly he will find his place in a good D2 school and be able to play as a student athlete and then it is all about how much more he develops and grows. He is a classic late bloomer. He was 4’11 88 pounds entering his freshman year. Today he is 5’7 120 pounds mid way through his Sophomore year. I expect by this summer he adds another 3-4 inches in height and he is in the weight room 5-6 days a week. He is getting very strong. His exit velo off his bat is improving every month. Hitting laser beams to all fields. And of course his grades are fantastic. We work out on the field 2-3 days a week in the off-seasons (when not playing high school or summer ball) and it has been that way since he has been 4 years old. I played ball thru high school and 2 years of college. I went through the grind and had some good success as a left handed hitting 3B (throw right handed). But music (I am a long time guitarist) became a bigger passion for me in college and I lost that zest for the grind of baseball. Funny thing is my son is an incredibly talented progressive rock drummer. He loves it. He has that music as well to fall back on as his outlet if baseball eventually dries up for him.
Time will tell. Either way I am proud of him. He has a dream of playing MLB ball and I told him.....you keep playing until someone tells you, you can’t anymore. Then don’t give up.....try again until you feel you have done everything in your power to reach your goals. I told him the odds are stacked against any ball player making it to the Show but as long as you can look yourself in the mirror and know you gave it everything it will carry through the rest of your life. Just keep grinding if this is what you love and have passion for.
Sorry for getting off topic here.....
Stonks keep going up.
JUCO is not going to be an option. He is academically strong and he wants a full college life from the word go. There are D2 schools in Florida that we feel confident he can attend and play ball at.Good luck to your son Todem. Middle IF is a tough area to get recruited but it sounds like your son has the mindset and work ethic to make it happen. As he considered JUCO as an option? Lots of really good JUCO baseball programs and they will definitely help him get bigger and stronger.
We recently went through this. My son ended up getting some really good baseball and academic money at a strong D2 program (RHP). He ended up playing a year and decided he wanted more balance in his life (as he put it; "I want to be a college student and a baseball player, not just a baseball player"). He is now at a Big 10 school and made the club baseball team which is good competitive baseball... lots of former JUCO and recruited guys like him. But it's more like a baseball fraternity and provides the balance he wanted.
Lots of options out there. Please keep us up to date on how things progress with your son.

Blank-check company SVF Investment Corp, backed by SoftBank Group Corp, said on Thursday it sold shares in its initial public offering at $10 per unit to raise $525 million.
SVF Investment is sponsored by SoftBank Investment Advisers, which runs the $100 billion fund and said it could invest in a new or existing portfolio company.
SVF Investment was formed for the purpose of an effective merger or conducting similar business. SoftBank Group had cited sectors such as artificial intelligence and robotics as possibilities, in line with its broader investing thesis.
The launch of the special purpose acquisition (SPAC) marks an appeal to investors after earlier efforts to raise capital for a second Vision Fund floundered following missteps.
