North Korea thread (4 Viewers)

Link besides the link that specifically says it has nothing to do with the summit agreement? Prestige LOL. And you did not answer my question. A simple yes or no will suffice. Has Kim tested any rockets since the summit.
I no longer provide links to Trump supporters. The reason is you guys reject the validity of the sources. That makes it impossible to have a fact based discussion with you, or in fact any kind of discussion. My posts therefore are for the purposes of refuting your more absurd assertions.

If at any point in the future you are willing to accept the mainstream media as valid (CNN, The New York Times, Washington Post, etc) then we can actually engage in discussion and debate. Probably not before.

Why does he need to test more rockets?  He has rockets that will reach the US.

Well for one thing, the summit was barely a month ago.  Historically NK doesn't perform missile tests on a weekly basis.  IDK if this wiki site is accurate, but here's a history of NK missile tests.  Note how the frequency drastically increased since February 2017.

So basically you are okay with giving it time when it comes to missile testing but not okay with giving it time when it comes to Trump's progress with NK. Never change  :lmao:

First, can you stop with the GD snark?  I gave you a serious reply.  Don't ever complain again that no one wants to have a serious discussion with you.

Next, my point was you can't draw a conclusion that they stopped because of the summit.  Perhaps they did, but the fact that they haven't performed a missile test in a month does not indicate they're complying.

Are you serious right now? Maybe you should go back and review your posting history with me. In my opinion it does mean they are complying.

You mean the link that had more to it than that...which you kept ignoring after it proved you wrong?

Was Kim going to test any more now that he has the capability?

They’re not getting rid of their nukes. They’re increasing the amount of their nukes.

We gave NK prestige while gaining nothing in return. Trump looks like an idiot. Sorry but that’s the truth.
Prestige?  They have no more now than before, same as if the pope met with him.   Apparently you want no negotiations with NK?  I'd deal with the devil if the reward is big enough.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Which was the last presidential administration to not negotiate with North Korea? Which was the last presidential administration where the POTUS met with North Korea? And went out of their way to talk about how great of a guy their leader was?

It's funny. You were dismissive of the, "there's more than 2 sides to the problem" but here you are again.

I don't see how having negotiations is detrimental.   You get a deal-good.  You don't get a deal-back to where you where.   Giving them prestige my negotiating?  I'm not at all dismissive of more than two ways to skin a cat.  I've never said that & don't believe that,  sooooooo here I am again.

When they have nothing negative they have to come you with false negatives like "prestige"

Yes...nothing wrong.   Negotiate behind close doors to get an actual deal done and then you have summit to announce the terms.   This is all being run like a reality show, pr stunt.

Good News!  Things are going so well with North Korea, we have asked for Russia's help....

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

....Russia has agreed to help with North Korea, where relationships with us are very good and the process is moving along. There is no rush, the sanctions remain! Big benefits and exciting future for North Korea at end of process!

This, of course, begs the question: If things are going so well with North Korea - how is Russia going to help?

wait, I thought NK agreed to denuclearize and it was done and dusted.  that's what the President said repeatedly....Trump and Kim took selfies to mark the occasion....

So less than 24 hours of trying to walk back his comments we're working with Russia.  Again.  Some folk need to get woke.

Relax.  I'm sure they're just working on the new NK/Russia/USA alliance.  Gather all of the world's nuclear superpowers to join forces to fight evil.  After we withdraw from NATO, of course.

"They hosted a summit to start a new relationship" is what FoxNews said when they described Hillary as a traitor that one time when she gave Russia a 'reset' button.

We seem to have the same skrewup on TWO really huge international issues going on at the same time in the same way.
You have to give it time to play out.....don't get ahead of yourself.  It doesn't matter if you've read the book before, someone might have changed the ending after your last reading.  You just don't know until it all plays out.

So...if I go back, I’m sure some were letting it not play out the whole time?  And not just now that it looks terrible?

According to South Korean Rep. Roh Hoe-chan, a top #US diplomat proposed that #NorthKorea and the US discuss three main things, one of which included a timeline of complete and verifiable denuclearization. Roh: "North Korea gave no response."
This is incredibly predictable - these guys pulled the same crap with Clinton, Bush (both), etc.  Talk nice, duck and obfuscate, play for time, keep researching.

And was predicted by many, many, people in this thread only to be praised by the trolls that porn star Stormy Danielss lover Trump was at least trying.
This is one area I think DJT has done exactly the right thing.  War with NK is essentailly off the table since so many weapons are aimed at Seoul.  So, put in place crushing sanctions and then agree to talk.  If it doesn't work keep on with crushing sanctions.  This story is far from over - definitely middle innings.  NK seeing how far the leash extends is par for the course, and that seems to be where we are at the moment.

And it may well be that DJT does everything right and it still doesn't work.  That puts him on par with the last 4 presidents.

here is the thing:  war with NK was never really on the table.  neither was/is war with Russia.  It is all just spin.

Huh - repeated what I just finished saying.  Thanks for the backup.

(And war with Russia is a non sequitur - not sure why bring it up when it isn't in discussions, isn't under consideration, even fancifully, and not germane to this conversation)

But in the days and weeks since then, U.S. negotiators have faced stiff resistance from a North Korean team practiced in the art of delay and obfuscation.

Diplomats say the North Koreans have canceled follow-up meetings, demanded more money and failed to maintain basic communications, even as the once-isolated regime’s engagements with China and South Korea flourish.

Meanwhile, a missile-engine testing facility that Trump said would be destroyed remains intact, and U.S. intelligence officials say Pyongyang is working to conceal key aspects of its nuclear program.
Not only is this an unmitigated disaster, but going almost EXACTLY as the non-Trumpers had predicted in this thread ~100 pages ago.

A low point from the perspective of U.S. officials came during Pompeo’s third visit to Pyongyang on July 6 when he pressed North Korean officials for details on their plans to return the remains of U.S. soldiers killed during the Korean War, as they had agreed to do in Singapore. The issue had been discussed in several meetings and was viewed by the United States as an easy way for North Korea to demonstrate its sincerity.

But when Pompeo arrived in Pyongyang, the North Koreans insisted they were still not ready to commit to specific plans, according to diplomats familiar with the discussions.

The delay angered U.S. officials, who were under pressure to deliver given Trump’s premature announcement on June 20 that North Korea had already “sent back” the remains of 200 soldiers.
Oh look, more proof that Trump was lying.
