Instead of posting reasoning behind each pick I thought it would be more fun to take feedback and TRY to explain at the end. I dont think my mock is any better than anyone else, some guys like March Madness Brackets and some guys like Mock drafts. I think that there will be a record number of trades this year, but I just tried to predict the big ones - which I know is usually bad practice. I hear you. I dont have much of an answer there - Lane Johnson could be the pick for the Lions at 5, but Jordan seems like a sure bet and the type of guy who would be the ultimate equalizer against the passing of Cutler and Rodgers. Easiest way to beat the Packers and Bears is to get to the QB.

I think that the Lions have to give Reiff another year to try and become the left tackle. I think that in a pass first offense, which I anticipate the Lions running - Ricky Wagner from Wisconsin is really underrated. Former basketball player, turned TE, turned tackle (played both sides) the guy is an athlete and an answer on the offensive line.

Just my opinion

If the Beats can address OL, LB, and CB in the draft, I would be very happy. I think however, the Bears should try to trade down with Atlanta and get a third rounder which they are missing (to Miami). The falcons can then leapfrog both GB and the Texans who I think are looking at offensive weapons (especially GB) in the first, and get their TE of the future.

I think its really going to be exciting - there is going to be a ton of moving around in the first 4 rounds. Trading down might be the best idea, but I think Cooper would really solidify that offensive line and is an extremely safe pick. The one issue I had with Cooper, is where does that leave Carimi? Too soon to just give up on him. But Webb should be the Right tackle Id assume, right? So you are looking at having two first round linemen inside at guard. Could be interesting.

Can you explain a bit why you see Jonathan Franklin going mid-1st round, but E Lacy going 36 picks later? That seems like a big gap - in the wrong direction - for those two players.

No chance the Eagles select Geno at 4 but that's some interesting value via trade being throw in on either side of the pick.

Jessie Williams selected in 2nd and 3rd round by Seahawks (Kyle Long?).

I think Franklin is by far the most complete back in the draft. I also think that Lacy ran behind an amazing offensive line - one of the best we have seen in years - and because of that might be seeing things in the NFL for the first time. I personally feel pretty confident saying that Franklin will be the first RB drafted.

Its tough to predict trades and other guys might be better at it than me, no doubt.

We will see on Geno - Everyone knows that new regimes mean new QBs. I think at 33 years old Vick is too old to center an offense around, so unless Foles is going to be the guy - and i dont think he fits - they need to walk away with a qb early.

just my best guess

Not blasting you, I enjoyed your mock with trades. It's just my homer opinion based on what I've learned about Geno and Kelly's/Roseman's comments. Just doesn't seem like a fit.

Franklin seems way too high. Especially after Rob Rang wrote this yesterday and I agree big time.

At least one running back has been drafted in the first round of every NFL draft since 1963. This is the year, however, in which that historic trend is broken. This isn't just a reflection of the new running-back-by-committee approach that many NFL teams favor, it is a statement about the lack of quality of high-end talent in the 2013 class -- arguably the weakest positional group of the 2013 draft.

Dont mind the Packers pick at all but I would take what Jags got for the 2.1 also pretty quick.

Love the value for all teams that can trade down with those looking to move up. Great moves for Jags and Cards by the looks of things.

If you are predicting the Jags to trade up to get EJ Manuel you may want to consider them trading up into the bottom of the first rather than the first pick of the second. Under the new CBA they get an extra year of player control if they pick him in the first round (something teams love to do with QBs).

That is very interesting and an excellent point. I was not aware.

I'd like to see the Pack draft another O-lineman early, rather than a Safety or RB. What makes you think we need another crappy mid-round safety? What's your view on Eifert? How will he fit into the offense?

The value on some of your trades seems a bit off. How do you compare some of the prices to move up vs prior years' drafts?

BTW - really enjoyed reading your mock. Solid effort overall.

Green Bay Packers - Tyler Eifert TE,Johathan Jenkins DT, Shamarko Thomas, S,Christine Michael, RB,

I'd be estatic if the Jags draft came anything close to this.
I agree, I just don't see the Dolphins giving up 4 picks to the Jaguars to move up 10 spots. I would love to see the Jaguars turn their top 2 picks into 6 picks. The Jaguars need more picks, especially if this draft is as deep as some talent evaluators believe it is.

On another side topic in this thread, the original poster wrote that the Jets would trade up to 2.01 to select EJ Manuel, the Jaguars already own 2.01. But the point is valid that if the Jaguars were to trade up to get EJ Manuel, it would have to be to trade back into the first round. I don't see the Jaguars trading back into the first round for any QB, they can almost draft any QB at 2.01. I think its more likely they would trade down to get more picks.
