Stop being dooshy man. I know exactly what dragon glass is and exactly when it has been used. See my post above. I was thinking all of Sam's stash got lost at Hardhome. I forgot he gave some to Bran's team. I was wondering if it was a weapon from the children that she picked up or maybe even a spear a wight dropped.

Feel free to pinpoint the exact moment in the show where they made spears with the dragon glass because you seem to know exactly which spear she picked up.

Seriously, there are some people who don't appear to watch. I do and was asking a legitimate question, because I don't remember her having a spear with it on it.

 Your post saying you knew about Dragon Glass came after (or maybe during) my post.  You first post made it sound like you didn't and with so any folks in here not remembering most of what happened in previous episodes, I figured examples were needed.

My reply was dooshy too, but your first reply was this:

Seriously?  Dragon Glass, ever heard of it?

The guy asking about warging is obviously fishing, but maybe he is really just that dense. I know all about all of dragon glass and where it has been in the show. I did forget Sam gave Bran some, but now I do recall that part. It is hard to remember every single scene in the show. That said, Meera just grabbed a spear that killed the white walker. I am 99.9% certain that I don't recall them making any spears on their journey (I could be wrong), so I was legitimately wondering if there was something more to it. For instance, are the white walkers vulnerable to anything when in the presence of the raven guy/tree? We never saw the children with spears, they just used the fireballs. It was likely just a spear with dragon glass and that's that, but I wanted to ask. I probably worded it wrong, but oh well. I haven't ever posted anything like "where did that teenager in the tree come from, I don't recall him in the first few seasons and why do his eyes turn white?"

Pretty sure the spear was dragon glass.  The cave is old, dragon glass tends to appear as relics either from the First Men or the Children.   Makes sense that either or both of them  would have been in this particular spot at some point.

The show creators were very hesitant to dive in to all of the flashback stuff with Bran. In their words , they never did flashbacks because they called it "Lazy storytelling" . Brans story line did make it inevitable that there would be looks back in to the past and they have been pretty awesome IMO. I don't think you will see many major plot changes due to interference by Bran unless it is a big part of GRRM's endgame . If that is the case, I think it would really devalue the whole thing as one of the posters above said. Please dont let bran reverse the earths orbit to change history superman style

People questioned why Meera could kill that walker with the spear because one of the children tried right before Meera threw the spear and it didnt work for her. I guess it was a different type of spear that had the dragon glass tip.

In an episode where so many people sacrifice their lives for Bran to live, Hodor's is the ultimate, because it literally was his entire life that was sacrificed, not just his death.   It's pretty powerful stuff and pretty brilliant by Martin.

As someone who feels they live a pretty purpose-less life only for their own self-satisfaction, that scene brought tears to my eyes.

What does the 30 seconds of Hodor's efforts buy anyway?  We are supposed to believe that Mereen is going to be able to drag Bran far enough away from an army that was able to traverse untold of miles to get to the tree so fast?

BTW, I guess one good thing is that the number white walker kings has been cut from 5 to 3.

It never really shows them breaking through the door, so who knows how long Hodor held out for.  And why didn't the children lady just throw that ball, instead of the self sacrifice bomb, that slowed them down for like 1 second, maybe.  And why not just hook the sled up to the direwolf and have the direwolf get them the fck out of there.

Besides, the whole this is moot anyway, because the King "branded" Bran, to know exactly where he is.  Even if they get out of there, he's just going to know his every location, unless they cut his arm off, or find some other children of the forest that have been hiding out to remove the brand.

I agree this was a bit weak.   I think the answer lies in the army of the dead.   They have no brains on their own.   They are told to kill, they kill what they see.   They have no ability to think on their own, to choose to track (or have the ability to track).   The White Walkers are still some distance away in the mound and maybe at this point either are writing Bran off as not a thread now that the thee eyed crow is dead or were somehow otherwise impacted by the death of one of their number.

The WW's objective appeared to be to get the three eyed Raven. They didn't seem particularly interested in tracking Meera and Bran, and the zombies appear to lack agency. Maybe getting out of sight was enough.

And don't forget the WW Sam killed. For unstoppable killing machines their casualty rate in these random encounters and skirmishes has been pretty high.

I was thinking about the number of white walkers as well. Didn't the king create new walkers (not the zombie-like wights) with the babies from Gilly's girls. They seemed to be producing kids quite a bit for a long time, so it seems like there are far less white walkers than I figured there would be. Is there a padawan training center we don't know about? Do we know enough about them to have any clue on this?

My question on the children of the forest was why not stockpile a whole lot more of those balls to chuck? I think the holding the ball was about getting as many concentrated in one area to blow as many up as possible rather than just the first rank.

The Direwolf was killed.

I like the new, badass Sansa but it seems like she picked a fight with Little Finger too soon.

And i predict that Bran worgs into a dragon at some point, maybe even during the eventual climactic fight.

Most likely. Remember the shot of a dragon's shadow over King's Landing in his previous 'flash' visions.

If only there was a way that we could find out what it accomplished, say maybe next Sunday night, that would be cool   /Tanner

That's an understatement. Everything he utters has a plan to it. She has no idea what she is doing and how he just played her. I have no idea what he actually plans, but I know he played her.

I really hope Hodor crawls out from under a dumpster next week.

If not, then the 30 second head start Meere got might be enough to help run into a pack of wildlings, Thenns, giants and/or mammoths to fight the wights.

Yah, the Direwolf made the same self sacrifice, but should have just hooked up to him before he threw himself at the wights.

The characters seem to travel at record pace this season. Sansa and Theon left winterfell, got to castle black/iron island. Littlefinger left eyre and got to the place he met sansa (I forgot the location they said) all seemingly in days.

Mole's Town. Basically a truck stop along the Kingsroad on the way to Castle Black.

Hoping Bran comes to next episode and wargs into Hodor to beat some ###.  Love me some Hodor-tank.

I don't think they will, time is of the essence.

One thing that cannot be argued about this season: They are moving the plotlines forward quickly.

As of now they have less than 2 seasons to get everyone to King's Landing for the final battle.

Yes, that can be argued.  Still main plots that haven't really changed much from the start of the season:  Dany, Arya, King's Landing.

Agree that stuff with Bran, Night's Watch, and Sansa have been moving along.

Not sure in what aspect she'll be stone cold - definitely not as an assassin. This episode more or less advanced the idea that she's never going to be "no one".

ETA: sick of watching her stick fighting too. her story is getting tired.

Agree. Her reactions to the play showed that she was failing to let go of Arya for the assignment she was given.

On a side note: that play was awesome and hilarious.

So why was a hoard of them chasing those 3 through the tunnel?  Why were they trying to get out of the Door?

You don't think that Dany taking over the Dothraki and the Kind of the Iron islands planning to bring her a fleet aren't moving along her plotline?

King's Landing will likely be culminating next week or two.  They need an entire episode for that likely.

They need to take the Arya stuff a bit slower because she needs to be a changed person by the time she is reintroduced to the main threads.   The only other option would be to just now show her for a season.

Zombies don't think.   They kill.  They see things to kill, they chase things to kill.  This really isn't that difficult.

Sam's been on the 2nd longest boat trip of all time, right after Gendry.

I have seen many of you guys use the word warg, who came up with that?

Viking mythology. Refers to a giant wolf named Fenrir who bit off the hand of their war god. Tolkien borrowed the word in Lord of the Rings. The big wolves the goblins rode were wargs.

GoT's meaning for it might just be GRRM's twist, dunno.

There's a difference between attacking someone right in front of you versus heading off into the wilderness looking for targets you can't see. It doesn't seem like the undead do the latter without direction.
