I'm feeling good about my first 20, so I'll post them now.

Hitters: Willson Contreras, Pete Alonso, Matt Olson, Rhys Hoskins, Bo Bichette, Wander Franco, Carter Kieboom, Kyle Tucker, Ramon Laureano, Byron Buxton, Jesse Winker, Dylan Carlson, Alex Kirilloff.

Pitchers: Zac Gallen, Jesus Luzardo, Chris Paddack, Pablo Lopez, Matt Manning, James Karinchak, Devin Williams.

Some very tough decisions for my last 5 spots. Open to trading anyone not listed above. :coffee:

We're a month out, start working on those protected lists :coffee:

Can you go ahead and let MLB know, too?

They should probably start signing guys, figure out the start date, if NL has DH. You know, small things.

How many do we protect?

Roster size in 40, protect 25, can't lose more than 3 in the CB draft. We bumped up to 48 last year, are we going to trim back to 40 or keep it at 48 again

How are we going to handle the initial cutdown from 48 to 40? We doing that before the CB draft? As part of the CB draft?

Think we were going to do it before the draft, but I wouldn’t mind waiting until after. Not sure which fringy vets I want to cut until I see who I lose/add in the draft.

I think a pre-minidraft roster cutdown to 40 will make the first waiver run better.

Let's try to get that done by Super Bowl Sunday.

  • Eephus changed the title to Serious Biz Dynasty - Season 14 - Submit roster cuts to 40 by Super Bowl Sunday

2021 Edition

14th year, 2nd board, 3rd thread.  Link to old thread

12 teams, 480 rostered players

Franchise stability is a wonderful thing.

RIP former league members Finless and Tremendous Upside

Next steps:

  1. See if Greedygoat's friend still works for CBS  Paid
  2. Roster cutdown to 40 players by Super Bowl Sunday
  3. Protect 25 keepers.  Remainder will be unprotected for competitive balance draft.
  4. FOUR round competitive balance draft in reverse order of 2020 standings (Non-snake).  Each team can only lose three unprotected players.
  5. Process any necessary drops to get all teams back to 40 man rosters
  6. Annual waivers cycle using waivers order carried over from last year.
  7. Open transactions (FCFS) for the remainder of the season
  8. Spartans Rule is holding the funds again this year (I think)

Sifting through the ole rooster now. Do we submit our cuts here or on the site?

Post them here.  I don't think CBS provides a way to selectively open transactions.  I've always had to do the preseason transactions manually.
