Marshawn Lynch -- "I'm here so I won't get fined" (4 Viewers)

I think they will try to extend Marshawn for another couple of years. They'd be foolish not to.

Marshawn Lynch broke a @PFF record last season with 86 forced missed tackles. He has 96 this season. #Seahawks
that's impressive.

As someone who at one point thought lynch was as good as gone, now starting to have a hard time seeing how they don't figure out how to bring him back. Which is unfortunate for those hoping michael might get a shot (myself included)

Michael has the potential to be very good, but Marshawn has the chance to be a HOFer with another few years and maybe another Super Bowl or two. I think he gets in with 10,000+ yards rushing, 90+ TD's and another ring. Not sure he cares though

Marshawn is pretty close to being a HOFer already. He's about to get his fifth Pro Bowl, maybe his second All-Pro, already has a Super Bowl ring, and now has very possibly the two most exciting runs of the past five years. And the best nickname in the NFL.

With one more season he'll pass Earl Campbell (the HOFer he most closely resembles) in rushing yardage and rushing TDs; he's already ahead of Campbell in total yardage and TDs.

Go Bears!

I agree he's close, but he has two things going against him: one being who selects enshrinees and the other that he plays a position that is severely devalued in this era. I personally think he's the best back of this decade.

In the ultimate sign of disrespect, Marshawn Lynch fined only $11,050 for crab grab TD celebration

And Damontre Moore was fined $15K for his part in the fight which he was EJECTED from the game. That means the NFL sees Lynch's junk shake as 2/3rds as offensive as an actual fight so bad someone needed to be ejected, and it was more offensive than when Dominic Raiola illegally clubbed Patriots DE Zach Moore in the back of the helmet (week 12 2014--yep, 4 weeks ago), where Raiola was fined $10K.

This league has their priorities really messed up.

Agreed. Beast Modes nuts are worth at least 100K per.

Latest interview with Lynch: LINK

It seems obvious that this isn't some act the guy has issues doing these interviews. Has to be a better way to get his answers for these very important questions.

If Seattle loses, I would love to see Marshawn ride off into the sunset. Hell, if they win I would like to see the same!

Christine Michael owners think Seattle will cut Lynch still? It was silly then and it's silly now, he is that team!

Christine Michael owners are going to find that the ship is sinking before it even leaves port. Just a hunch.

Rotoworld:

Marshawn Lynch rushed 25 times for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' NFC Championship Game victory, adding a 26-yard reception.

With Russell Wilson staggered and struggling, Beast Mode put the team on his back, grinding out the kind of tough yards he's made his name on. Lynch's otherworldly leg drive was on display the entire second half as the 'Hawks worked their way back from a 16-0 halftime deficit. He should again be the focal point of the offense in Super Bowl XLIX. Every passing game makes it appear more and more dubious that Seattle will actually part ways with Lynch this offseason.

True, but he's had enough great years and too many great postseason games to be kept out at this point. You would think. Then again, voters are ####### ######ed when it comes to RBs.

If I was Lynch I just lean back in my chair, smile that big golden grin, grab my nuts and let every writer in Glendale know "these balls ain't deflated".

Vince Wilfork: Marshawn Lynch is NFL's best back

By Chris Wesseling

Around the NFL Writer

With Adrian Peterson in limbo all season, the NFL's mythical running-back title belt is up for grabs.

DeMarco Murray rushed for 484 more yards than the next closest player. Le'Veon Bell was the most dynamic blend of running and receiving talent.

To hear Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork tell it, they all stand behind Marshawn Lynch.

"It seems like he's been getting better and better," Wilfork said Friday. "The more and more he plays the game, it seems like he kicks it to another gear. And that's the sign of a great football player. He's hands down the best back in the game because he can hurt you anytime he has the ball in his hands."

Peterson included, no running back has been more consistently excellent since Lynch landed in Seattle.

Lynch's 101 forced missed tackles in 2014 are the most by any back since Pro Football Focus began recording data in 2007. He also boasts the three highest marks for missed tackles in a playoff game during that span. That speaks to Lynch's effectiveness independent of his offensive line.

Over the past four years, Lynch has averaged 1,612 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns. He's been even better in the postseason, with five 100-yard performances and eight touchdowns.

Lynch is the tone-setter on one of the three best rushing offenses in NFL history. If the Seahawks win a second consecutive Super Bowl with Lynch as the offensive focal point, he will upstage Shaun Alexander as the Seattle back most likely to be rewarded by Hall of Fame voters.

Rotoworld:

The Seahawks will be penalized 15 yards if Marshawn Lynch makes an obscene gesture during Sunday's Super Bowl.

Lynch has been fined a total of $31,050 for grabbing his crotch following touchdown runs this season. But he hasn't been penalized yet because the officials allegedly didn't see it. We can be certain that if he does it Sunday he'll get flagged as this story has gone national -- which is why coach Pete Carroll said he will speak to Beast Mode about the grab. According to offshore sportsbook Bovada, Lynch is an incredible -200 favorite to score a touchdown against the Patriots.

His speech should be awesome.

I heard WHEN he scores he's not going to grab himself,he's going to pretend to pump up the football :excited:

Sounds like he may get a fine for wearing his Beast Mode hat during media day
More and more the NFL is working to find ways to punish people who don't dance like a clown when asked. It's amazing how strong their brand is, because in just about every other instance people would tune out.

The NFL better be careful.

I can't wait until he's retired and nobody cares what he has to say anymore. He'll be begging for someone to notice him then.

Oh look, today he's saying "YOU KNOW WHY I'M HERE" a hundred times. Go away, boss.
If he went out there and said "I'm just going to give 110% out there", "I respect those guys and just going to try my hardest", "I'm going to control what I can control", etc. does that make an interview good to you?

It's so strange that we expect players to line up to give the same 6 or 7 speeches for every game, but when Marshawn does it with a different sentence everyone get so ####### bent out of shape.

LOL

If the reporters know he's going to act like this, then why bother and get mad when he does it?

Its kinda like that friend you have that you know whenever you invite him to do something, he's always got an excuse. Eventually, you just stop inviting them places.

That's what the media should just do with Lynch. Just ignore him.

Positively. Lynch is being a baby about it but they allow it to happen. He wants to be left alone? Fine. Pretend he doesn't exist.

Not a Seahawks fan, but love seeing Lynch continually shoving it in the face of the media and NFL by not cooperating (or at the very miminum required). Even better when his teammates say he is a great "locker room guy" and good friend and teammate. This schtick is pure gold from Lynch.
