agree with all of this and also think Hasty is a great flex start for this one week
One of you HAS to start him it would appear and the other is in a similar position to myself where Hasty is maybe my RB5 or last guy on the bench which has had some other names prior like Perine, Brown, and I'm just saying he's not a major part of my plans. Then when you push it out into Flex, I have WRs like Higgins which would seem like a better play.Something does not smell right with the resting for a week and tired legs. I'm not sure what is going on but I'm not buying what Shanny is selling. I thought Jet was one of the best cheap targets pre season but something is off kilter here. "If" the joke Coleman (he sucks) is inactive I think Hasty is the play of the day. I own both Hasty and Jet but with better options I will not start either at this stage.
This some kind of shtick? It’s not auto-correct because hasty is a real word!I don’t think you have to over complicated things....there are no healthy backs beside Hardy and he looked good last week. I have both McKinonn and Hardy and wouldn’t think of starting the Jet but will likely start Hardy over Jet and Henderson.
Ha...no just a mistake...had a couple drinks in me...This some kind of shtick? It’s not auto-correct because hasty is a real word!
I like Hasty over JetSneaky play this week with Kittle, Coleman and Garoppolo all being out? I'm just worried about his "tired knees".
And by sneaky, I mean RB1 numbers.
I own both and desperately need to start one in PPR. If nothing changes before kickoff tomorrow I'm also going with Hasty.I like Hasty over Jet
Seriously, who else is catching the ball in SF? (Now Bourne is out as well) I have a feeling McKinnon is going to be a target monster.I own both and desperately need to start one in PPR. If nothing changes before kickoff tomorrow I'm also going with Hasty.
You may be right and I may need to start both Hasty and Jet due to injuries and byes this week. Hopefully both will be on the field at the same time due to all their starters being out.Seriously, who else is catching the ball in SF? (Now Bourne is out as well) I have a feeling McKinnon is going to be a target monster.
Jerick McKinnon rushed 12 times for 52 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' Week 9 loss to the Packers, adding three receptions for 16 additional yards.
With Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert sidelined, McKinnon out-touched JaMycal Hasty 15-6 after handling just six carries for -2 yards over the past two weeks. Evidently his legs weren't tired anymore. McKinnon looked fine, but it was hard to judge anything the 49ers did playing with their B-team offense against a Packers defense that lost Jaire Alexander in the first half. McKinnon's score redefined garbage time, as he notched a one-yard plunge with the 49ers trailing 34-10 with :04 remaining. Mostert will be out for Week 10 against the Saints. Coleman's status is uncertain. McKinnon will be a top-36 option even if Coleman plays, and top 24-28 if he sits.

Jerick McKinnon rushed 18 times for 33 yards in the 49ers' Week 10 loss to the Saints, adding one catch for 13 yards.
Weirdly, McKinnon was targeted just three times while the Niners threw 39 passes in negative game script. Week 10 might have been McKinnon's last chance (for now) at being the team's every-down back with Raheem Mostert (ankle) expected back for Week 11 against the Falcons. McKinnon will retain value in PPR formats as a superb pass catcher in a depleted San Francisco offense.

Jerick McKinnon played zero offensive snaps and seven special teams snaps in Week 14 against Washington
It's a remarkable fall from grace for McKinnon, who hasn't recorded a touch since Week 12. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan implied after the game that McKinnon was worn down from his heavy early-season workload. "[McKinnon] carried the load for us while those guys were all out, which took a toll on him, but he dresses every week because we'll use him if need be," Shanahan said, adding that he would use Raheem Moster and Jeff Wilson as a "one-two" punch going forward. McKinnon can be dropped except for in the deepest fantasy formats.

Chiefs signed RB Jerick McKinnon, formerly of the 49ers.
McKinnon is yet another receiving weapon to deploy from Kansas City's backfield behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel 'The Mentor' Williams. Coach Kyle Shanahan attempted to lean on McKinnon in place of Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman at one point last year but that resulted in the 28-year-old getting burnt out for 2.6 YPC over his last 12 games. He'll likely be used as a rotational player on third downs and admittedly doesn't offer much fantasy value unless either player ahead of him misses time.

I won’t disagree with you about Williams, but one could probably say the same thing about McKinnon.Although many will be clamoring for Darrell Williams off waivers this week, I think that the vast majority of us don't really consider him to be anything particularly special..
Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid praised Jerick McKinnon as a "playmaker" after McKinnon's Super Wild Card performance against the Steelers.
“I’ve seen it from training camp on that he’s a playmaker,” Mahomes said. “Obviously he’s dealt with injury in his career and he dealt with a little bit of injury this season, but he’s kept his mindset right, he’s kept working hard. And I knew with some other guys kind of being down and dinged up that he would step in and fill in nicely.” McKinnon was as impressive as any Chiefs running back in the Mahomes era, playing 78 percent of the team's snaps and totaling 142 yards and a touchdown on 18 touches. He saw 12 of 16 Kansas City carries and all six running backs targets against Pittsburgh. Presumably it will be tough for Reid to go back to Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) if CEH can suit up next week against the Bills. We could see a fantasy-unfriendly three-way backfield split between McKinnon, Darrel Williams, and CEH.

Agreed, added a dimension to this offense that the other backs do not bring. It will be interesting how Reid distributes the RB touches going forward.IHEARTFF said:That was a great game by him even if Steelers run d is trash. He is just so fast.
Blame the medical staff- SF isn't really known for the healthiest of players in the past 3-5 yearsGuy was worthless for 3 years in San Fran, goes to KC and is reborn.

He's finally living up to all that Sparq hype. I always liked him, glad he is finally getting a chance to shine in some big games.Wingnut said:Guy was worthless for 3 years in San Fran, goes to KC and is reborn.

Jerick McKinnon rushed 10 times for 24 yards and caught 5-of-7 targets for 54 yards in the Chiefs' Divisional Round win over the Bills.
Darrel Williams (toe) didn't play in this one, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire did return from his shoulder injury. McKinnon still out-carried CEH 10-7 and out-targeted him 7-2 in the pass game. Edwards-Helaire, however, out-gained McKinnon on the ground with 60 yards on his seven attempts. Look for McKinnon to stay heavily involved next week in the AFC Championship bout against the Bengals. He just has a gear CEH and Williams don't out of the backfield.

Jerick McKinnon ran a pass route on 71.7 percent of Patrick Mahomes' drop backs in the Chiefs' Divisional Round win against the Bills.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, active after missing more than a month with a shoulder injury, ran a route on 20.6 percent of Mahomes' drop backs against Buffalo. McKinnon out-touched CEH 15 to eight in the barn burner victory, catching five of his seven targets for 54 yards. He's very clearly supplanted Darrel Williams as KC's primary pass-catching running back. McKinnon will continue to have solid PPR appeal in the AFC Championship against a Cincinnati defense that allowed a 23.6 percent target share to backs during the regular season, the third highest rate in the NFL.

Jerick McKinnon rushed 12 times for 65 yards in the Chiefs' AFC Championship Game loss to the Bengals, adding three receptions for 30 additional yards.
After handling the ball 25 times during the regular season, McKinnon had the best stretch of his entire career in the playoffs, turning 48 touches into 315 yards and a touchdown. With everything on the line, the Chiefs featured McKinnon over Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the Divisional and Championship rounds. The Chiefs have to be losing confidence in Edwards-Helaire after two injury-shortened, sporadic-production seasons, though McKinnon is probably still unlikely to be a big part of the going-forward solution. Four months shy of his age-30 campaign, McKinnon is unsigned for 2022. Remaining in Kansas City as a depth piece/role player will probably be both sides' first choice.

It’s destiny.Anyone else think he could be the Chiefs best RB in 2022?
Not so sure I would equate Michel into the discussion. I think he is garbage. It’s destiny.
like Sony Michel, I held onto McKinnon for 3+ seasons and got nothing but injury & fail.
The second I let him go he blows up.
To those who roster him: you’re welcome.
I did too, but the second I gave him away in a trade (as part of a 4 player deal that got me another 2023 1st) he instantly became FF relevant.JohnnyU said:Not so sure I would equate Michel into the discussion. I think he is garbage.
The RB paradox. Looked really good. Is 29. Could be an early to mid round disaster or later round triumph.I did too, but the second I gave him away in a trade (as part of a 4 player deal that got me another 2023 1st) he instantly became FF relevant.
Similarly I dropped McKinnon before this season started because I thought he was a completely lost cause.
Just shockingly coincidental. It was mostly sarcasm though - McKinnon has always had upside, and I was actually excited about his potential with the 49ers. Then on the very last carry off camp he blew out his knee, and I guess had a setback rehabbing it.
He looked really good in that KC offense. Dare I say a little Westbrook-Ish?
Perfectly stated. The RB paradox. Looked really good. Is 29. Could be an early to mid round disaster or later round triumph.
He is freePerfectly stated.
CEH a first round pick, McKinnon a waiver wire pickup and we’re having this discussion. What does that tell you? It’s quite laughable actually. I picked up McKinnon not expecting anything, yet here we are.The RB paradox. Looked really good. Is 29. Could be an early to mid round disaster or later round triumph.
Yep. I dropped him to the wire. Wait, are you in my league?!He is free

I think this is a bigger deal than most want to admit.
Who is not admitting it? - The KC backfield is now crowded with a bunch of options that have been productive in the past. Personally I see it as a situation to avoid if possible. While it's a great offense and should lead to RB production that pie is sliced up between McKinnon, CEH, Ronald Jones, Derrick Gore - and while a seventh round pick is a long shot of course I really like the rookie Isaah Pacheco - this will be a headache for fantasy owners until injuries thin the herd.I think this is a bigger deal than most want to admit.
Jerick McKinnon had four rushes for 22 yards in the Chiefs' Week 1 win against the Cardinals, adding three catches for 27 yards.
McKinnon led the Chiefs backfield with 18 pass routes and four targets. The pass-catching specialist figures to eat into Clyde Edwards-Helaire's routes and targets all season. In negative game script, McKinnon could become the team's primary running back. He should be rostered in deeper PPR formats in case CEH misses time this year.
- NBCSportsEDGE
Jerick McKinnon rushed four times for 12 yards in the Chiefs' Week 2 win over the Chargers, adding two receptions for four additional yards and a touchdown.
McKinnon was out-touched 12-6 by Clyde Edwards-Helaire and out-gained 118-16, though he got CEH where it matters most, out-handling CEH 3-0 in the red zone. McKinnon's touchdown was one of just two to come on offense for the Chiefs on Thursday. We doubt McKinnon will dominate the high-value touches every week, but we already knew the Chiefs trusted him in the most important areas of the field. That limits Edwards-Helaire's upside while giving McKinnon some last-gasp FLEX appeal in this two-man backfield.
