I am watching every Bond movie: please kill me (1 Viewer)

Inspired by this thread I started with Dr. No and have been going through them chronologically as well. A couple of weekends ago during a marathon I swear I heard some offer Bond a drink describing it as "stirred, not shaken". Was I hearing things? I think maybe it was Dikko Henderson in You Only Live Twice?
Went back and checked it last night. It's about 22 minutes into You Only Live Twice when Bond first meets Dikko Henderson after the sumo match. Henderson prepares Bond a drink and as he hands it to Bond he says something along the lines of it being stirred, not shaken. Bond replies "perfect". Is that simply an errant line by Henderson that they missed in editing, or am I missing something obvious here?

The shaken Martini is mentioned twice in the first Bond film Dr. No (1962.) Once when Bond had presumably ordered a drink from Room Service to his hotel room, it is mixed by a waiter, who says "one medium dry vodka martini mixed like you said, sir, but not stirred" (a slice of lime was in the bottom of the glass.) Later, Dr. No presents Bond with a drink — "A medium dry martini, lemon peel. Shaken, not stirred."

Bond did not vocally order one himself until Goldfinger (1964). However, in the 1967 film You Only Live Twice, Bond's contact Henderson prepares a martini for Bond and says "That's, um, stirred not shaken. That was right, wasn't it?" To which Bond replies politely, "Perfect." Since then, each Bond has himself ordered the drink, except for two.
The Bond in Skyfall that ordered a Heineken. :o
It's obvious that Skyfall is not canon then.

If only David Lynch had been the director and Dennis Hopper the villain...

Doesn't he also say "Does it look like I give a damn?" in one of them when asked?

Casino Royale--when Bond hasn't quite become Bond yet.

Her: ok here's the plan we are going to rent a movie and order a pizza

Me: Bond?

Her: no. Uh uh. I've been gone all week. No way am I watching Octo##### or whatever the #### it's called tonight.

Me: so that's a no on Bond?

Her: I can't take Roger Moore. He's like 70 years old and watching him make out with these girls grosses me out. No. You had all week to watch these. What were you doing?

:lmao:

The Valentine's Day weekend is the perfect time to dance into the fire, when all we see is the view to a kill.

Eephus seems really excited about A View To A Kill. Think he's angling for a viewing cornhole here Cappy.

I rewatched it a few weeks ago when it was still on Netflix instant. It took me about a week to stomach it all. It was about as bad as I remembered it.

I love 007 movies and am enough of a sucker to keep watching whenever I come across one while flicking through the channels. I've probably seen the end of Goldfinger more than any other film. But I think I've only seen A View to a Kill four times: once when it came out, a couple of times when my kids were into them and wanted to see them all, and just recently. I don't feel the need to subject myself to that again.

So maybe just a Skype viewing session then. Got it.

who am I kidding. I'd watch it again with a little bit of arm twisting.

But Live and Let Die is still my choice for the most entertaining, semi-unintentional comedy Bond.

RIP Octopu$sy villain Louis Jourdan who died this weekend at the age of 93. He was in the movies in Europe and the USA for over 50 years and was awarded the Legion of Honor by the French government, but TMZ's lead of Jourdan's obituary mentioned his role in the 007 movie.

Also played a good bad guy in Swamp Thing.

"So I really think we should get back to watching the Bond movies tonight"

"OH GOD I WAS HOPING YOU HAD FORGOT ABOUT THEM!"

I know I say this every movie but my God he's like 96 years old now. And Moneypenny looks like a painting of a young Moneypenny that had water spilled on it.
