Yeah...i guess I was busting your balls there- sorry. Seems like there are so many variables...indoors, airflow patterns, lifecycle on hard surfaces, masks down to eat/drink, etc, etc. Scary to have the dominos still fall if everybody is following what we're told to do. GL to you- hope you can dodge this one. I'm screwed at work. Small, open studio space, no breakout room for lunch. I sit next to a window thankfully, but if somebody gets it, seems like we're all getting it. I tested positive for the antibodies back in July, but I still don't trust that i actually had it (never symptomatic) or can't get it "again". 1

It’s going to be difficult to find time during daylight to run between now and January 9th, which is usually the beginning of the worst of winter. I say ‘hopeful’ above because think I will be in a better headspace come February if I find a way to get there in no worse than the condition that I am now. That being so far away is why I categorize my current mood as ‘not good’ though. In the meantime I am trying to remain hyper focused on the day in front of me rather than thinking about the big picture. Successfully do that about 50 more times and I will be where I need to be to begin to ascend again. That’s a lot of needed successes though. It's been 42 days and I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. My goals for January were: *same mileage and strength work as December *not intentionally murder anyone I have another week to go before I can confirm that I am still not a felon, but after tonight's strength work I will have matched December's 4.5 hours of it and will surpass that number later this week. I net 156 miles in December and am currently sitting on 143, so I will one-up it by Wednesday and possibly tomorrow. Unless our electrician finds a surprise tomorrow we'll finally start rounding the corner on the kitchen reno, so hopefully our house and life are back to new normal again by mid February. I'd like to start increasing the time per strength session, but that isn't February's priority so I won't force the issue if energy levels aren't there. My priority will be to reintroduce more quality - I'd like to sustain January's workload, but we'll see my back and L ankle have to say about more speed. I'm also going to start cleaning up the diet once on the back end of the reno too. I'm happy I haven't put on any weight, but my workouts have certainly suffered some because of the foods I've been consuming since we started this project. I doubt I'll race in February, but I am writing this now to hold myself accountable this time next month - if I don't then I'm going to make some racing decisions before March 1. 10

On the bright side, I lost 4 pounds in the last 10 days working on the house. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice. 2

Actually as of tonight, I have run more than 100 miles for the month of January so that pass/fail goal is a pass. Yeah me! And to add to that, I really am starting to feel the difference of just getting in miles. If I keep this up, maybe I might just actually build a real base before trying to train for the fall races. Just have to keep this up and add to it. On the strength side, I had a bad week there and not for any good reason. Main goal was 2500 of each - that's toast. B goal was 2500 and that also is in doubt but C goal was 1500, which I will easily surpass. It's all about trying to develop the habits of doing something to improve core strength. I have done that and have a decent start to it. Just need to be a little more diligent in doing it. Along with those I have done some number of squats - air squats, goblet squats, etc - and have done some planking, some curls, strict press, good mornings and various other movements to work on both strength and flexibility. So, now to finish out this week strong, and then set some goals for February.

The Iguana 3,334
Mine yesterday was pretty fun. Had just starting to snow shortly before my dog and I headed out. Had a decent layer of it on the ground by the time we got home about an hour later. It was about 29* with a "feels like 19" but it really didn't feel that cold, imo. And my dog loves the snow so he was ready to stay out there all day.
