Rory (Shame Schauffele is in this group. Auto-play in any other group)

Casey (toss-up with him and Fleetwood)

Kisner (Took him over Cantlay by a hair)

Spieth (Spieth struggling but tough to pass on him in this group. First instinct was Poulter though)

Howell (I could probably make a case for 10 guys here)

With Option 1 being the one I'd suggest when considering game theory and unique lineups and Option 2 being flat out who will score the lowest.

Group A:

1)DJ  2) Rory

Group B

1)Finau  2) Casey

Group C

1)Woodland  2) Matsuyama

Group D

1)Stenson  2) Stenson

Group E

1) Olesen    2) Howell

Actually I just remembered DJ has to play with Day and Bryson.  DJ going to be aggravated to the gills with those two playing as slow as they do.

Take Rose!

A.  Molinari - Red hot and rolling.  Hard to bet against him right now.
B.  Day - Could have gone a few different ways here but I think he probably belongs in the A Group and is due for a big one.
C. Kisner - Really like the way he's playing and while he hasn't done that well here before, the Georgia alum had his best finish in 2018 and could be a sneaky good play.
D. Speith - I mean....you have to take him out of this group, right?  He's too good and has had so much success here.  Overdue to get back to elite levels.
E. Howell - Hasn't played here since 2012, but having one of his best seasons this year; I think he's a good overlay.

When choosing between players, horsepower matters more than anything.  Getting it there is the first step, getting it close is a whole 'nother level.

ETA:  Strange to hear from the guy blowing Stenson's horn but hey I'm a big fan of the Outliers.

In this thing making cut is absolute necessity. If any of your picks MC you are almost for sure eliminated.

Considering how the Masters field is generated, guys in the top 50 World Rankings are going to have to have a pretty bad 2 days of golf to not make the cut, you have to presume they all will make it at this range and save yourself the stress because picking the guys that are going to get crushed by the course is going to be more difficult than choosing the winner.

and probably not risk taking Speith.  At the top Rose hasn't been out of the top 25 in the last decade here and DJ hasn't shot worse than 73 in a few years.

What if I told you Howell is from Augusta, Georgia!

Might as well put a list together here from FFA folks:

Encaiter: Rose / Tiger / C. Smith / Tyrell Hatton / Shane Lowry

Nipsey: Rory / P. Casey / Kisner/ Spieth / Howell III

Hooter: DJ / Finau / Woodland / Stenson / Olesen

GM: Molinari / Day / Kisner / Spieth / Howell III

Mookie: Rory / El Tigre / Kisner / Poulter / JB Holmes

The General: Rory / Casey / Hideki M. / Spieth / Hoffman

Do keep in mind I'm just a big, dumb animal who can't break 100 on a public course.

Are you just crowd-sourcing an entry, or is the idea that we'll kind of play along in the thread for ####s & giggles (and in-thread bragging rights)?

This is a contest a friend runs that we do for the Majors and a couple of the bigger tournaments.

I have one entered and am going to do a 2nd one if I see some commonly picked people (I am liking Rose, Kisner, and CHIII)

Also just dropping people's in as they suggest for fun. Hopefully not wrecking the PGA thread for people not interested..

OK, the bolded is what I thought was the main goal.

I'm fading him myself, but I do know a lot of people who think his course history overcomes his terrible recent form.
I mean I sort of see him as a Fred couples type. Yeah.  But he needs to prove he isn't in a total free fall.

Guy needs a top 10 finish in next 3 events to not likely fall out of wgwr top 50.

Speith? Wow, didn't realize he was playing that poorly.

I haven't paid that close attention so probably a bad pick. But he seems to have a switch and is the best long putter on the planet.
He's also setting the modern pga record for fairway accuracy.  Not the good record.  215th in tee to green stats on top of that.

I agree.  He's been really, really awful.  203rd in Strokes Gained off the tee (out of 205 I believe).

By the way tiger is near last in putts under 5 feet.  Putts under 5 feet is actually one of the best prediction of cut at Augusta.

Tiger has shot more sounds of 69 or better at this course than Jordan has played in his career.  23 > 20.

He 3-putted the first hole on the way to 65, and that coupled with the loss to Bjerregaard in the WGC due to a missed 4 footer on 18 would have me believing that this part of his game has been attended to.

Technically we are 25 events into the season, but season long putting stats are still skewed to the point where I don't think they can be trusted.

I'd have much more faith in career putting stats here at this course.  Not sure how hard one would have to dig to find those.

I think it was last year, but I saw an interview with David Duval and he said, to give you an idea of how tough these greens are, he could take a golf ball and place it on a spot on each green, and the best pros in the game would have trouble breaking par.  He said it's one of the few courses where being on the green can actually be a bad thing.  It was a pretty impressive breakdown of the greens.  Usually, you get on the green and even if it's not a great shot, it's still ok.  But he was saying that's not the case here.  Accuracy on the green is not talked about as much as how fast the greens are.

Not a chance and any of the best pros would take him up on this.

A lot guys practice on basketball courts for this weekend, and its still impossible to mimic all the elevation changes.  They all slope away from the pin so proximity is everything.
