I love that song. I will probably die alone on a hill defending its greatness. Homer Simpson also did a great cover of it.Since the mention of Spin Doctors took the seal off of the truly terrible category, I present this gem for your "enjoyment":

Thanks; I had forgotten all about that one. Nice listen. More of an REM feel than a lot of their other work.Since the mention of Spin Doctors took the seal off of the truly terrible category, I present this gem for your "enjoyment":

They didn't, really. Were mentioned pages and pages ago. Can't believe the Butthole Surfers lasted this long.
Good call. I added that my Spotify playlist when I made it the other night as I realized our massive boner.
I mashed that one up with "Gary's Got A Boner" by The Replacements a few times on the college radio station.
I did not know that.5-ish Finkle said:They didn't, really. Were mentioned pages and pages ago. Can't believe the Butthole Surfers lasted this long.
I will always hate the BHS for no other reason than Gibby Haynes is reportedly the person who got Scott Weiland to take his first hit of heroin. I loved STP and Weiland being a junkie basically killed them.
This also made me recall that the BHS covered the "Underdog" theme on that Saturday Morning Cartoon album that was being talked about a few pages ago.
Let's be fair, it was only a matter of time before Weiland got into heroin. It's not like Gibby pulled him out of a church choir to get high.I did not know that.5-ish Finkle said:They didn't, really. Were mentioned pages and pages ago. Can't believe the Butthole Surfers lasted this long.

Guster is one of my favorites, this album "lost and Gone Forever" was 1999, but it has several great songs. Loved how in this era their drummer used bongos and other 'non-stick' drums, made for a different sound. They also have a great acoustic album that came out a couple years ago. New album that came out this year is pretty good.Questioning whether to post or not but...
Fa Fa - Guster
Was a big Connells fan back in the 90s, like Stone Cold Yesterday. Their singer (Doug MacMillan) has such great voice.Mister CIA said:I'm partial to Something to Say.The Connells' best song IMO was Over There (late 80s though).
I mentioned them with "Sell Out" as the song.^ Hoo boy.
Anybody do Reel Big Fish yet? Weren't people "doing the fish" during that Marlins/Indians World Series back in '97?
Ah, that'll do it. Thought I saw them in here, but forgot where.I mentioned them with "Sell Out" as the song.^ Hoo boy.

Unless you were hitting the Seattle bar scene in 1989, anything grunge-related is pretty staunchly "1990s". I give 'em a pass.
Came in here to post this. Probably my favorite 90s song. Here's a few great ones for this thread (IMO) - deeper dives, but both charted:
Splender - Yeah, Whatever - this is one of those that 75% of people don't recognize it by name, but 75% of it recognize it upon listening (IMO)
The Judybats - Native Son, anyone?

Actually had a big hit with "Superman's Song" in Canada a few years earlier.
Made several albums after God Shuffled His Feet with some very good material.
Brad Roberts is still touring part time.
