That entire album, Sparkle and Fade, is great. I am not self conscious in the least about saying that. Santa Monica has suffered from overplay, but it is a very good song.

I should caveat this by saying the dirty things occurred probably 15 years after that video was filmed.
And they no longer exist, but I am pretty sure I sent GM a pic or two at the time. I did some things I am not very proud of while my first marriage was in its death throes.

And, to be fair, while a lot of people love Pavement and they were college radio darlings, they only had one song that I know of that had some modicum of mainstream success. Even if we define the Alternative Radio format as "mainstream".
