I am adding this post in response to others asking for more explanation than just listing the team.
My team is built on the assumption that all will stay healthy.
QB - Sam Bradford - PHI/8 - $13
QB - Alex Smith - KC/9 - $8
Was originally going to go with Big Ben and lower priced guy like Boyd or Cousins, then realized I was overloading on Steelers (also had Bell and Brown) and did not want week 11 vulnerability. Big Ben is poised for a great season and at his price, is affordable. As I researched Bradford's preseason, I bought into the idea that if he can stay healthy (I know this is a BIG if we are think of with Bradford), he should be able to post top 10 #'s in that offense. On the chance he does get injured, fall back on moderate play with Alex Smith and hope other positions carry more weight week to week. I decided to throw caution to the wind related to injury risk and am sold that Bradford can post gaudy stats on Kelly's offense and that he will stay healthy as they need him so he will be safer and avoid hits, etc.
RB - Adrian Peterson - MIN/5 - $32
RB - Justin Forsett - BAL/9 - $25
RB - Ameer Abdullah - DET/9 - $14
RB - Doug Martin - TB/6 - $12
RB - Christine Michael - DAL/6 - $3
Started out with Bell and Forsett as foundation and was looking at combo of Stewart and CAP. As noted above, had too much riding on Steelers, and at last day, decided to drop Bell since I was committed to having Antonio Brown. So I started looking over ADP as a Bell a dollar for dollar replacement and quickly came to like his upside on a much improved Vikings offense. His drive to show his dominance on an improved offense quickly became a justifiable reason to buy. His early bye is a plus. I was locked in on Forsett from the start. In PPR, I see no reason why Forsett can't be the equivalent of Forte in Trestman's offense. Flacco is used to check downs anyway having had those great seasons with Ray RIce. Abdullah is looking like a PPR rookie darling in Detroit and is flashing that he could be the RB to own there. Most of us also have a lot of love for Martin at that price. CMike is the $3 lottery ticket we all seem to own.
WR - Antonio Brown - PIT/11 - $33
WR - Julio Jones - ATL/10 - $26
WR - John Brown - ARI/9 - $12
WR - Davante Adams - GB/7 - $9
WR - Eddie Royal - CHI/7 - $4
I am all in on Antonio Brown this year in my leagues and was firm on having him in this contest. If he stays healthy, he is a lock for putting up similar stats of the last two years. Could not pass on Julio at that cost and think he is every bit WR 1b to Antonio being 1A. Once Jordy went down, Adams at $9 was a lock for me, just as for everybody else. For the longest time, was going to go with Terrance Willams at $11 and Funchess at $5 thinking the high powered Cowboys offense offered great upside for Williams and Funchess is likely defacto WR 1 for the Panther but that he would not post great #'s despite that status. Decided to see what else I could piece together for that $16 and came up with what looks to be a better combo of John Brown and Eddie Royal. Granted, I gained a week 7 bye week hassle with Royal and Adams but think it is managed with my other rostered WRs assuming they stay healthy. Royal paired with Cutler as WR 2 opposite Jeffrey should be a PPR mini monster.
TE - Greg Olsen - CAR/5 - $21
TE - Travis Kelce - KC/9 - $20
TE - Crockett Gillmore - BAL/9 - $4
TE - Maxx Williams - BAL/9 - $3
You cannot win this contest without TE strength. No way I pay the Gronk premium. Went with the top pass catcher of the Panthers and mister reliability Greg Olsen. He was a lock from the start. Added Kelce who has great upside at that price and at late hours, decided to lock up what I think are the Ravens TEs for a pittance. Trestman made Bennett a TE fantasy star in Chicago and I can see either Gillmore and Williams posting big week to week #'s for the Ravens. To get that added insurance with the Ravens TE, I had to make concession at kicker and defense.
PK - Sebastian Janikowski - OAK/6 - $2
PK - Josh Scobee - PIT/11 - $2
Was going to go with Bailey and Scobee. Think the Steelers k is value at $2 regardless of Suisham, Hartley, or Scobee. When I added TE depth late, it was decided that I am willing to role the dice and go with lower tiered kickers. Sbass while old and on a meh offensive team is a total settle for pick me since I had dwindling $' for team defense and kicker. I went with him for reliability and largely based on a hope that the Raiders offense can be much improved and therefore perhaps give him more FG attempts. We'll see.
TD - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TB/6 - $4
TD - Atlanta Falcons - ATL/10 - $3
Again, my decision to boost TE depth came at expense of my wanting to have Colts and/or Cardinals . Settled for defenses that are cheap and what look to be the easiest fantasy SOS as per FBG tools. We'll see. Was glad to see a post above that there is not much separation in week to week scoring between high priced defenses and the bottom of the barrel defenses. So if true, then I like the idea to scale back the defensive investment.
