Love Aaron Jones. Would I take him over Royce... possibly. I'm not a big Royce fan. You're trading up 5 or 6 spots in round 1 and getting a guy who likely out plays Royce at least for 2018.

This is one where I’d probably take the best asset in the deal which to me is Amari. I’m not very high on Washington and Smith though so they don’t really move the needle much. Having a bunch of decent dart throws in the draft is also a bit appealing.

thanks for your comment. I gave up Cooper. I'm pretty high on JW, I think he is the WR1 out of this class possibly; JW or Sutton on my list. Smith I like as a TE2/3, possible 1 in 2019 if they dont re sign Walker.

I am a fan of Amari but I feel like his ceiling is wr10-12, and I'm concerned about the drops. in his spotlight thread some people had him as a low end wr2. His floor last year was putrid. so if I put him somewhere in the middle for his ceiling, wr18, I felt like this was good long term value.

the picks I gave I dont necessarily have roster space for anyways. This deal gives me potentially 4 of the top 5 picks in 2019 (very possibly 1-4), 7 of the top 14.

I think I gave a little more than I should have. Possibly better if I left out the 3rd rounder, but I looked at that as a throw in; if it meant getting the deal done it wasnt a big deal to me.

Team A also got Paxton Lynch Siemian and K Bourne (SF-WR) but didn’t include it above as it’s a 60+ offensive roster league.

Right now I like the Collins side, if the predicted early pick is actually very early, the value might swing all the way to the other side

Bolded;

Im an Evans fanboi

the pick in the coleman deal could be the most valuable piece

Same with the pick in the Cobb deal

the 1st in the Golladay deal looks to be early if im reading that right. Owns the 8.01 this year?

The Evans trade is kind of old so it was made before the Winston stuff came out but I think I still take Cook and Davis.  Those are two guys that could both very easily be rated higher than Evans at this time next year.  Cook is already there for me in PPR.  The picks are irrelevant with a trade of that scope and I would happily roll the dice on Davis over Ajayi due to the long term potential.

edit:  OK I see what you're saying now about the 8.01.  Yes, the 2019 1st comes from the team that earned the 1.01 this year.  The kicker is that he had traded his 1st last year, so didn't even get Barkley out of it.  Ouch.  I'm guessing that's a top 5 pick again.  I do like Golloday though and I think Hurns will be a productive fantasy WR for a couple of years while DAL figures out what they are going to do.  Maybe those guys win him some games.  I'd have given a late 1st for both of them, but I wouldn't have given his.

likely? I'd say at best it's a 50-50 proposition. I'm not a huge Freeman believer but I do think he has the easier path to carries and volume is the first step to production.

I disagree. Jones can do more with less carries, as he's already shown, and I expect him to be the starter by week 5. I don't anticipate that rapid of a path to starting for Freeman.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am high on Goff and I think Cobb is in for a big year this year as Rodgers #2 with Jordy gone.

In Cobb's last 8 games with Rodgers he averaged 6 catches 70 yards .63 TDs a game. That's almost 17 points a game in PPR. That's top 5 WR if you extend that over a 16 game season. Jordy is gone now too. So I have Cobb flirting with WR1 status this year. Cobb probably comes up a little short and ends up being a mid to high end WR2 because Jimmy should dominate the red zone.

I also hate this draft. I know a lot of people disagree but to me the 1.10 is worthless. I'm sure a guy or two will come out of nowhere, they always do, but in large part I predict this draft to be pretty underwhelming.

I'm super late to this one (been busy and slowly making my way through the missed pages), but I don't dislike the trade. I don't know how anyone could hate this draft, but IMO there is a steep drop off after 1.09. However, I wouldn't trade 1.10 until on the clock just in case someone screws up and selects someone other than the top 8 RBs or Moore.

I think there's a serious chance you are right about Cobb, although he might only be a one year rental (not sure he's on the team in 2019 and I don't like him w/o Rodgers). As for Goff, I'm not sure how people in this thread are so down on him. It was his first year in a new offense and he only played 15 games with a 5.8% TD rate and a 4:1 TD:INT ratio. People forget he's almost 2 years younger than Wentz, so he is still developing as a QB.

I think Cobb is worth a late second and Goff is worth an early 2nd, so 1.10 seems pretty fair.

Well done.  Stated as an opinion.  It would have been easier to say "but, he has the easier path...", but that would have sounded as if you were stating it as a fact.  Just wanted to acknowledge the progress...carry on

JFC are we really still on this? This is exactly the nonsense that I *want* to report but probably won't. It mostly just pisses me off. Please quit being pedantic about this opinion garbage. Can we talk about fantasy football please?

Great value for Gordon in non ppr.  We have seen 2 good value trades for him now.  Seems that more than lowball offers are out there in some leagues

Don't forgot about the plethora of picks also given up in the deal wasn't just Gordon for 1.05. Lots of shots to get guys. Every year a couple guys fall to the 3rd/4th rounds.  Last year JuJu was a 4th in one of mine, Howard a couple years ago was a 3rd in a couple of mine,Tyreek was a 6th/7th rounder, heck back in 2010 Antonio Brown your current #1 WR for past 4 years was a final pick 7.12 of the draft in one of mine and a waiver wire guy in another.  Wentz and D-Watson were 3rd rounders in most of my leagues as well.

Not in a real dynasty league like I play in here.  30 man rosters, 18 man DTS where you can hold a player for up to 3 years.

DTS? guessing that's a fancy name for a taxi squad. that's huge. wow. well, then in that case yeah I guess those picks matter more.

I am not a big fan of 1.05. that's looking at either Penny, Freeman, Jones. not overly excited about any of them. Maybe I'd take Jones there. or Freeman. Guess I'd probably take the pick and be happy about a guy with a for sure chance than a bunch of lotto tickets

For

Pick 8

8. Big drop off after pick 10-11 IMO. Miller is great to see on your bench but he doesn't offer a whole lot of value based on his performance last year even as a bye week fill in. So for me this is 1.12 for 1.8, which is a no brainer

Wow.  Just to be clear, are you saying Miller has zero value?  Thats what it sounds like.  If so, completely and whole heartedly disagree with that.  Guy is a starting RB on what might be a pretty potent offense.  His top backup is coming back from an achilles (right?) that he suffered relatively late in the season, like week 10 or 11.  He may not be ready for the beginning of the season (He may never be the same again), giving Miller a chance to shine with Watson coming back.  I think he is a mid range RB2 myself, with far more value than 0.

Yeah, his redraft ADP is 5th round and he's being drafted as a top-24 RB. He obviously has at least decent short-term value.

This trade seems pretty even to me. I'm assuming the team moving up to 1.08 was after a top rookie running back (likely Kerryon Johnson or Royce Freeman) and didn't highly value the 2nd round WRs that are likely the top options at 1.12 (Kirk, Sutton, etc.). Miller is a fair price to move up a few spots.

I'm saying that Miller may have value in a trade, but I don't see him as a starting RB. I don't see him performing as RB2 by week 8, and not because Foreman coming back. I honestly don't expect anything from Foreman until at least 2019 if not never again. So I see Miller as a decent RB 3/4. At best a bye week fill in that I'm not happy about. I distinctly remember hearing rumors that Miller was on the bubble of being cut this offseason, so I am not sure how much faith Houston even has in him.

I'm new to two dynasty leagues where you keep players forever. Rosters aren't terribly large (20 on one, and 26 on the other increasing to 32 during the offseason). It's really fun. Keeps things interesting with waivers and roster cut downs so far. I'm not bored in the slightest... but I am new.

I can see very large rosters getting boring

It is a salary cap league but the rules dont really prevent you from keeping your entire team.  it just might limit you on being able to trade for guys with high salaries.  There are also contracts with options, and if you cut guys with time left on their contract you will have a salary cap penalty the following year.

Probably right.  Long term I like Shepard's chances pretty much.  But if I had a solid team already and am just trading depth, I'd be tempted.  If either of Reed or Hogan pan out this year he'll outscore Shepard by a decent margin IMO. I'd probably do it if I were win-now.  I do like Hogan this year.

I really like Penny's running style and he'll get a full workload as a first round pick, but the Seattle offensive line worries me and Brian Schottenheimer at OC even more so.  Thought this was pretty good value as I think Kirk is the next Tate and someone emerges in the GB backfield.  Wilkins as an upside throw in.

Decided to flip these guys in two separate deals.

Gave: Christian Kirk, 2019 3rd

Got: Robert Woods, Trequan Smith, 2019 6th

personally you were better off not flipping.

I'm not a fan of Woods, especially with Cooks there. I feel like Woods'big year was more just out of chance being in a decent situation rather than him actually turning a corner. theres mo way that offense supports 4 fantasy viable targets in the passing game. Kirk will be far better than him imo. Smith I like, but to give up a 3rd and kirk for...

2nd and 3rd and Burkhead for GB RB is a mistake. I think whomever emerges as the go to guy in GB is going to be valuable. as someone who thinks that's Jones... and I know I'm in the minority here... but I think you just gifted away an rb1

personally you were better off not flipping.

Thanks man.  I don't post a lot but I read the forum regularly.  Honestly we are in disagreement on about 90% of topics so this actually makes me feel better haha.

lmao. I'm sure I'm in the minority here. It's all a matter of preference anyways. I'm not too crazy about any NE bac hist because it's a headache but if I were to own 1 it'd be burkhead for the expected gl carries.

I think Kirk is over hyped to be honest, so it could be a good sell, but I'm not a fan of woods. Smith might end up being to best player in that trade.

And I can definitely see a scenario where no RB does well in GB and they either sign a guy like Yeldon or draft Love or Harris. in that case you got a steal. Regardless, the general consensus for a RB in GB is maybe rb2, flex numbers. Burkhead, if things work out how they should, should be a rb2 easy

Decided to flip these guys in two separate deals.

Gave: Christian Kirk, 2019 3rd

Got: Robert Woods, Trequan Smith, 2019 6th

And

Gave: Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones

Got: Burkhead, Chase Edmunds (cuff for camp), 2019 2nd and 3rd

Sum of trades:

Penny for Woods, Burkhead, Jordan Wilkens, Trequan Smith, Edmunds, 2019 2nd and 6th.

Don’t like your net; even though I liked your first deal.

Love the first flip hate the 2nd. After the net, I'd still prefer Penny. And I like Woods a bit more than most, I think. I expect Cooks to draw a lot of attention and for Woods to get a lot of targets. I like Trequan about the same as Kirk, so like I said I like that flip a lot. I would not have given those GB backs away that cheap, though. In the end I still like Penny the most. Just my ten cents.

Fair enough.  I think I'm just higher on Burkhead than most are but it could certainly be a mistake.  Sure do like seeing those reports of Michel fumbling.
