Based on the assertion (that I don't agree with) that the FFA is predominately liberal leaning.

I dont know how to vote.

I would say anarchist is the closest to what i am but i dont advocate no government.......i just have no faith in any current power system in place and i generally ignore politics as best i can.

Independent - Middle

Moderate..

Best part is I drive almost all extended family members :loco:

My Mother is a Far Left Democrat

My Dad use to be a Democrat supporter.. he and I had many arguments during his democratic supporting years.

Then he got into shooting old time guns and has let that one issue turn him to support republicans

Father In-law is Very much a Republican.. Hard to have any discussions with him that even hint at leaning away from the Far right..

Mother in-law .. No idea.. She is smart and doesn't say much about politics.. at least not that I've heard.

First poll - 15 left, 25 right, 13 middle

Second poll - 10 left, 25 right, 18 middle

Not seeing the support that the FFA is a haven for liberals...

Even if you define "liberal" as "more liberal than me" you end up with 25 right, 28 more liberal than me....

Lean right on the economy, lean left on social issues, and in the middle on military issues.
This describes me pretty well, although I am a registered democrat. Most people I know identify as republicans, but we agree on the majority of things - I've found that their views on taxes take precedence over their social views, which is the opposite for me.

The problem with your poll is that most people THINK they are independent, but in actuality they are further right or left than that.

I agree with that statement which is why I gave three flavors of independent.

I used to be a right-leaning independent and even voted for George W. the first time around, but the older I get the more liberal I become. I am still sympathetic to conservative economic policies but fortunately or unfortunately it is about so much more than that.

Someone on here, I think it was Roadkill, said something like "I'm not progressive, I'm just 25 years ahead". I think that encapsulates my thinking these days.
This is pretty much me.

Independent right but definitely not "libertarianish"

Used to be a Democrat but as the party left me as its become more extreme left after Bill Clinton

Fiscal & Defense Conservative

Social / Civil Rights Liberal

1st & 2nd Amendments - American :D

I have this problem too with some of my family members. When I try to to make any kind of point to counter the BS they say I get told: "Oh that's a democratic talking point".

I'm not not sure what it is about them that they have to start political conversations with everyone they come in contact with and try to convert them to their team. I mean if I just agree with everything you say and promise to vote Republican will you go to sleep happy and get brownie points from conservative bubble club or something?

I do this with my mother and brother. Just to shut them up.

Fiscally conservative, socially liberal, but voting tendencies usually just involve voting for the one least likely to totally #### it all up.

I am against radicals and anyone that leans too far in either direction. I guess that would make me a moderate, but I feel I lean to the right but I dislike all the bible thumping the right leans on. I dont know.

The age demographic of the FFA and the fact that the overwhelming majority of participants are football fans pretty much insures that this board will lean conservative. The meat of the age bell curve here is people who formed their political views during the Reagan years. And there was an interesting poll out earlier this year showing a growing red/blue divide in youth football participation (i.e., parents who support vs not).

lots of people are lying in this poll then.

Not really.

First Poll 50 left, 71 right. 31 Middle

Second pool 36 left, 77 right, 39 middle

Defining moderates as "liberal" because they are "more liberal than me" - 71 right, 81 "more liberal than me" in first and 77 right, 75 "more liberal than me" in the second

I would say that's a decidedly conservative bias. I also think it's very interesting that people are more willing to identify themselves as Democrat than as a liberal. One could probably argue that is fallout stemming back to Rush Limbaugh pioneering the term as an insult rather than a political ideology.

I am fiscally conservative and think you can all go #### yourself, which is pretty socially liberal.
