QB Carson Wentz, KC (1 Viewer)

Apparently Carson has now been called out publicly by "anonymous" proxy by both Alshon and Nelson Agholor?

Agholor apparently saying Foles throws a more catchable ball than Wentz on his burner Twitter account? I think Agholor just can't catch...

As if Agholor wasn’t hated enough in Philly, he had to go out and ensure that he was the most hated player in Philly history.  This guy is not very smart.....

srsly drop him in redraft. Eagles offense is a mess. They're gonna try and lean on Miles Sanders and the easy looks to get out of this, but he's not putting up 300+ yards this year, soft schedule or no.

Carson Wentz completed 28-of-46 passes for 310 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in Week 13 against Miami.

Wentz was out-dueled by Ryan Fitzpatrick in a surprising shootout with Miami. He threw all three of his touchdowns in the red-zone, with his highlight a 10-yard strike to Alshon Jeffery, who he locked on for 16 targets. Wentz's interception came on a hail mary pass at the end of the game. The strong game from Wentz wasn't enough with Philly's secondary getting destroyed by Devante Parker. The loss is a major setback to the Eagles playoff chances, but they remain in the NFC East title hunt. Wentz will be on of the top quarterback plays against the Giants on Monday night in Week 14.

Carson Wentz completed 33-of-50 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 23-17, Week 14 overtime win over the Giants Monday night.

This game featured the worst first quarter of pro football we've seen all season. Neither team could move the ball, and Wentz was overall pretty terrible the entire first half. He went to the break with 97 passing yards and a lost fumble and the Eagles getting booed off the field down 17-3. Philly dominated the second half, however, but it was still not a good look to be pushed to the brink and into overtime on your home field by the 2-10 Giants. Both of Wentz's scores were two-yard hookups with Zach Ertz. By the time the game ended, the Eagles had literally one healthy receiver, Greg Ward. Wentz has been brutal in 2019, but the 6-7 Eagles now control their own destiny with the Redskins, Cowboys, and Giants in Weeks 15-17.

Carson Wentz completed 30-of-43 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles' Week 15 win over the Redskins.

Despite the final line, this was a very erratic game from Wentz, who had three fumbles (one lost) and averaged just 6.2 YPA. Wentz didn't get much help for his supporting cast with Alshon Jeffery (foot, IR) and Nelson Agholor (knee) out, but he came through with a game-winning drive on a four-yard touchdown to Greg Ward. Wentz also had TDs to Zach Ertz and Miles Sanders — a dime he threw off his backfoot to the corner of the end-zone. With the win, the Eagles stayed alive in the NFC East. Philly has an all-important matchup with Dallas in Week 16.

Carson Wentz completed 31-of-40 passes for 319 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 17-9, Week 16 win over the Cowboys.

Playing with the world's most injured supporting cast, Wentz still managed to complete 77.5 percent of his passes as the Eagles took a huge step toward winning the NFC East. If the Birds beat the Giants in Week 17, they will be division champions. Already down Nelson Agholor, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson, Wentz will have uncertain situations with Zach Ertz (ribs) and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (foot) for the finale. Wentz needed a torrid second half and overtime to overcome the G-Men in Week 14.

Carson Wentz is the first QB in @NFL history to record 30+ completions and 0 INTs in 3 consecutive games.

Wentz joins the following as the only @NFL QBs with 30+ completions in 3 straight games:

Matt Ryan (2019)
Kirk Cousins (2018)
Philip Rivers (2015)
Peyton Manning (2010, ‘15)
Drew Brees (2011, 2013 twice)
Tom Brady (2011)
Kurt Warner (2008)
Rich Gannon (2002)
Steve Young (1995)

Considering the revolving door of receiving options, it’s fair to say that his performance this year is even more impressive than his near MVP performance two years ago.

Put some real weapons at WR next year and I think we’ll see the numbers pop back up to his 2017 MVP-type level.

Carson Wentz Hater Checklist List:

☑️ Can’t come from behind in the 4th.
☑️ Can’t be clutch when he needs to.
☑️ Can’t make his receivers better.
☑️ Can’t stay healthy for a full season.
☑️ Can’t take them to the playoffs.

Amazing stat & the context is crazy:

Carson Wentz is the first QB to throw for 4,000 yards without a single WR hitting 500 yards.

Along the way this season, Wentz lost his WR1, WR2, WR3, TE1, RB1 & RB2.

Finished the season w a CFB QB as his WR1 & a 5'6" 6th rd RB as RB1.

He won’t be because his numbers aren’t big enough,  but should be in the conversation of league MVP for what he accomplished with the replacement-level supporting cast.

(FantasyPros) Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz completed 23 of his 40 passes for 289 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the New York Giants. He did not throw any interceptions and added 15 yards on three rushing attempts. Analysis: While he has been throwing primarily to practice squad players over the last couple of months, Wentz has managed to set a new Eagles franchise record for passing yards and help the team win four straight games and the NFC East.

Carson Wentz's incredible season by the numbers

One not mentioned here yet:

Amazing consistency: Wentz is the third QB in NFL history to throw a TD in all 16 games in a season and finish with seven or fewer interceptions. Brady in 2010 and Ryan in 2016 also did it. Wentz was the only QB to throw a TD pass in all 16 games this year.
IF his team provides him with enough support he has a chance at a huge season next year.  Also would help if his receivers quit dropping like flies.

Carson Wentz (head) won't return for Philadelphia's Wild Card game against the Seahawks.

The Eagles will play the rest of their playoff game with 40-year-old Josh McCown under center, and WR Greg Ward available as the team's emergency option. If Philadelphia is able to advance, Wentz would likely spend a majority of his week attempting to clear the league's protocol prior to their Divisional matchup against Green Bay.

Carson Wentz completed 1-of-4 passes for three yards before exiting with a head injury in Philadelphia's Wild Card loss to the Seahawks.

"I’m disappointed for him," coach Doug Pederson said regarding Wentz's injury. "I wanted this for him." Wentz exploded out of the gates for a season-high 8.03 yards per attempt in Week 1 due in part to his newfound connection with DeSean Jackson, then proceeded to lose Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, Jordan Howard, Brandon Brooks, and numerous others down the stretch. Given the circumstances, his career-high 4,039 passing yards should be applauded, if not revered. It’s also the first time the 27-year-old stayed upright for all 16 games since his rookie year. The coaching staff leaned on Wentz for at least 40 pass attempts in the team’s last seven contests to inevitably scoot the Eagles into the postseason, but it’s hard to imagine that offensive approach becoming the staple in 2020. Assuming a clean bill of health ahead of their offseason program, Wentz will re-enter early Best-Ball leagues as a top-12 option among quarterbacks.

Hard not to feel bad for the guy after the heroic regular season he had. Not that the Eagles were likely going far in the playoffs, but he still has to stew another year without a playoff victory to hang his hat on, while Foles still has his Super Bowl ring merely after a hot December/January.

It really shows the way the NFL works. Gotta be in the right place at the right time.

His injuries have come because he's put himself in situations where he can get hit. Must learn to slide & give up. Not go head first to gain 1 more yard.

He got his legs wrapped and then got cheapshotted. How could he protect himself?!?!

By not putting himself in that position. Throw it into the ground before you get there. You never saw Brady or Manning even come close to getting put in that position. The play was sniffed out. Brady or Manning throws that ball at the defenders feet in the area of the receiver. Seen it just about every week from those guys.
