Didn’t you crush the weight loss last year?I skip this thread for months while I drink myself in to fatassedness (again) and this is one of the first posts I read.
Yep. I’m good at two things - gaining and losing weight. In the past several years I’ve yo-yo’d a bunch. As high as 240+ and as low as 160. This year has sucked.Didn’t you crush the weight loss last year?

If you need a 20 minute mile, I'll give you 19. If you need a 6 minute mile, I'll give you 19kevzilla said:I enjoy the sense of satisfaction one gets when completing a workout. Those last 500 yards, I am Secretariat, thundering down the stretch at the Belmont. I know I've won, but I want to demonstrate to an astonished world just what kind of immortal bad-### I am. The Indiana Jones theme is playing in my head. I am moving like an incredible machine.
@bostonfred you need 19-minute miles, I got all you can eat.
running on real ground is about 200% harder than the treadmillAt the cabin for the weekend and spent the last couple of days playing around in kayaks on the lake. Today I made a concerted effort to row 500 meters at pace in open water. It's a kayak rather than a skull, and it's just a recreational version rather than something meant for speed, but that was a crap-ton (technical term) more work than rowing on a rowing machine!
Real hiking is 400% harder than the incline trainer, too.running on real ground is about 200% harder than the treadmill
i might have shorted my percentage. it will be interesting to get on a treadmill again. i might enjoy it now.Real hiking is 400% harder than the incline trainer, too.
I had to read this twice. 27.5 lb in that short of a time is super impressive. Congrats and keep it up.Day 55-Memorial Day Update...Last weigh in was Sunday and we were down to 192.5, Down 27.5 lbs since March 20th of 2020.
Starting to track calories as of today. Over the course of three weeks of exercising but not tracking what I ate, I gained about six pounds. So, tracking calories via Myfitnesspal as of today. Will jump in when I start tracking. I'm starting with exercise as the only change for now so I can get in that habit without being preoccupied with results. The first week of exercise, I gained 3.5 pounds. Likely due to the additional calories of actually eating breakfast daily to fuel the morning workout, protein shakes, creatine, my birthday, mothers day, etc etc. I'm going to weight in again Friday and see where I am. If I'm flat or losing, I probably won't start tracking yet, but if I'm still gaining weight, I'll definitely start tracking and jump in to that thread.
i use my fitness pal and it works my big things are reducing fat and salt now post heart attack and it helps me there a lot take that to the bank bromigoStarting to track calories as of today. Good idea. When I went 45 straight days, my legs started barking at me. Had to take 2+ weeks off. We all need to mix a rest day in there, if for no other reason than to charge up our GAF batteries.Took a mental and physical rest day yesterday. Zero dedicated exercise. Back at it today.
That's pretty amazing mileage. Really impressed with your progress on all fronts. You're killing it.Today
21/35 points,
ran 4.8 miles. Need 17.7 miles to break 100 in May. Hopefully I can dodge the rain drops the next few days.

I don't know about this. It feels so much tougher running on our treadmill (Sole F80) vs outside.running on real ground is about 200% harder than the treadmill

There is no substitute IMO for walking on real ground, and when you add in things like viewing screech owls at sunset in the trees right above you along the path...you can't get that on a treadmill.eoMMan said:I don't know about this. That's incredible. 4 days left...9 miles to crack 100?The Flying Turtle said:15/35 points.
