Wow that’s crazy

day 18:   -46 calories and 9057 steps on the day

day 19 (Friday night): we had a "block party" where a bunch of friends and neighbors hung out in our cul-de-sac while still staying at a safe distance from each other.  We all setup beach chairs in a big circle, it was great.  Knowing this was going to happen I logged over 10K steps by 11AM and then hit the snacks and drinks pretty hard at the party.

Ended with +760 calories on the day (Triscuits are good but are absolutely not worth the calories  ) which puts me at +552 for the challenge.

Also ended with 14,533 steps - all in all I'd say that was a good day!

I enjoy the sense of satisfaction one gets when completing a workout. Those last 500 yards, I am Secretariat, thundering down the stretch at the Belmont. I know I've won, but I want to demonstrate to an astonished world just what kind of immortal bad-### I am. The Indiana Jones theme is playing in my head. I am moving like an incredible machine.

@bostonfred you need 19-minute miles, I got all you can eat.

i can give about 2.5 miles, running,  at 9ish pace.  #workingonit

i can give you, seemingly unlimited, 18/19 pace, straight the #### up hill.  i'm actually proud of my uphill pace.  it's lance-esque.  i set a pace, and will not alter it, until i summit the climb.  i need some longer climbs to test this theory out.

At the cabin for the weekend and spent the last couple of days playing around in kayaks on the lake. Today I made a concerted effort to row 500 meters at pace in open water. It's a kayak rather than a skull, and it's just a recreational version rather than something meant for speed, but that was a crap-ton (technical term) more work than rowing on a rowing machine!

Day 55-Memorial Day Update...Last weigh in was Sunday and we were down to 192.5, Down 27.5 lbs since March 20th of 2020.

-Just have been busy and also selfish with my remaining at home time wit Mrs, she must report back to prison, I meant work at the Foundation/Hospital on June 1st...she has 5 weeks of vacation built up which we plan on using immediately in June and July to tour the USA. We saw that Zion in Utah was shut down at 6:30 AM, they already had reached capacity in one area and by 11 AM they were not allowing any more cars inside. I feel that's a positive, people are flocking outdoors. One of the many things I've learned in these 55 days is that I spend way too much time indoors. Florida UV Index is a huge concern but that's why you gotta maximize those Sunrise and Sunset times.

-I counted it up last night and I am somewhere around 2,800+ Minutes, I can log them all if needed but I am on target to hit about the same number of minutes as last month, 3400 roundabout.

-I have been doing small free weights 2-3x a week and nothing heavy at all, didn't want to discuss it or even add it into my exercise minutes. I am just grabbing small weights and it's amazing with higher number of repetitions, just the arms...my upper body combined with all the cycling is getting much tighter. I glanced in the mirror and I was a little shocked how flattened out my upper body is getting, still plenty of flabby lower gut to keep working on but I am surprised how much better I feel physically and also mentally.

-I'm now 46, old POS but before you would ever want to see a doctor to try and turn back time, you can do an awful lot thru diet and exercise. My skin color is different, my energy levels are thru the roof, my face is a lot thinner, my chest fills out shirts and jackets like they were meant to be worn.

-I played Tennis on Saturday, was mighty rusty but the one thing I was really proud of was that I ran down every drop shot they tried to hit my way and I was able to track down a lot of balls for my partners who don't run as well. The cycling has given me stamina, I never sat down between changeovers during the sets. My ability to turn on balls at the net for easier volleys was noticeable. All IMO due to my commitment to what we've all done in here. Thank You All.

More updates to come,

-Cheers Everyone!!!

I had to read this twice. 27.5 lb in that short of a time is super impressive. Congrats and keep it up.

Memorial Day Update - my goal I set on 1/1 was to lose 25lb by Memorial Day and I actually lost 26.7lb and got down to 231 so that is a success.

My next milestone is to be under 225 this summer (maybe July 4?). When I hit that it will be the lightest I have been since I started tracking my weight 7 years ago.

Yesterday ate well (but did have an ice cream) and ran 5.4 miles.

Will jump in when I start tracking.  I'm starting with exercise as the only change for now so I can get in that habit without being preoccupied with results.  The first week of exercise, I gained 3.5 pounds.  Likely due to the additional calories of actually eating breakfast daily to fuel the morning workout, protein shakes, creatine, my birthday, mothers day, etc etc.  I'm going to weight in again Friday and see where I am.  If I'm flat or losing, I probably won't start tracking yet, but if I'm still gaining weight, I'll definitely start tracking and jump in to that thread.

Starting to track calories as of today.  Over the course of three weeks of exercising but not tracking what I ate, I gained about six pounds.  So, tracking calories via Myfitnesspal as of today.

After not weighing in for weeks, and knowing that I'm backsliding a #### ton, I'm still at -3 from even I started 3.5 months ago... So basically flat.

Gonna start riding my bike a bit more to go along with the 3 days of 16 hour IF. I can't extend the IF because I make/eat lunch with the family every day.

day 22 was memorial day and another DGAF day regarding the diet/challenge.  +704 calories on the day (+536 overall) - late night drinking and snacking killed me again - at least I know what the problem is   I made up for the poor diet by sitting on my ### all day, logging only 6034 steps.

day 23: -1073 calories (-537 overall).  I was busy today with work and just wasn't hungry.  Also zero drinks. logged over 10K steps

Good idea. When I went 45 straight days, my legs started barking at me. Had to take 2+ weeks off. We all need to mix a rest day in there, if for no other reason than to charge up our GAF batteries.

day 24:  -265 calories for the day (-838 for the challenge).  First back to back days without a drink since the lock down so that feels notable:)  Also logged 10,307 steps

I've said it before but the only reason I got over 10K steps the last two days was this thread

There is no substitute IMO for walking on real ground, and when you add in things like viewing screech owls at sunset in the trees right above you along the path...you can't get that on a treadmill.
