Misery loves company,  I am that company.   Sometimes its information overload and poor bankroll management

Another good week.  A slim W in the FBG double up, and a decent placement in a $5 GPP more than made up for 5 bozo lineups.

Came out slightly ahead thanks to Bell and Brown.  Didn't see that coming really with Brown so heavily owned.  Thought I'd be chasing the cut line all night.  Still feels like I lost, I like my lineups every week and every week I've been disappointed.

Nice week for me finally after up and down the first 3 weeks.

Won a 470 person tourney.

Won 2 separate 100 person leagues.

Finished 15th out of 4,300 in a tourney.

Finished top 5 in a few other 100 person leagues.

Didn't have Julio or Ryan at all.

Not as bad as I had thought.  I think I am currently down $4 this week, but up $15 for the last 2 weeks.  Actually cashed in 3 gpps, so that was nice to see.

I still have 3 Thurs-Monday LUs that are currently 4pts or less away from the cash lines, and have Rudolph going tonight.  Might be able to catch a couple of those if he does well and guys like Diggs do not.

Nice!  What was your lineup?

I never look at line movement during the week but it seems like it might be a useful tool.  I also never bet on NFL games so i dont look at anything deeper than the Vegas value chart... what would be the best way to look at line movements?

Currently cashing in a GPP but that is very likely to change once someone goes off tonight.  I'm 12 points above the cut line in that one so I don't have high hopes.  Also lost 5/6 cash lineups so not a great week.

Crabtree really saved my butt.  I had alot of Cam and Pitta.  Let's see what Diggs does tonight though.  My 3 favorites this week were Crabtree, Fitz, and Diggs.  Pretty close to even regardless, but a nice one from Diggs will give me atleast a 50% ROI.

Fitz is frustrating though, it looks like 5-6 of Smokey's completions were shorter routes that I had assumed would go to Fitz.  Nothing is more frustrating than being right and still being wrong

Well played Mr. Professional NFL offensive coordinator.  Better gameplan ways to get the ball in Cordarelle's hands.  #Gamebreaker.  I like it, just passing to someone like Diggs is way too easy.  Its cliche really.  I mean, ...really?  I'd be annoyed if it wasn't so patently absurd. Cordarelle Patterson, Mr. Preseason 2014.  And fella's, thats why DFS will always be a form of gambling.  We're at the whims of geniuses like Norv Turner.  I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

Thanks, Mr. Rudolph!  Managed to cash in all 3 of the 50/50s tonight.  Ended up with 125.5 for that lineup, and still barely got it.  The line for these Thurs-Mon contests were almost 10 points higher than the Sunday only ones - I assume due to having exposure to Green plus the others that went off yesterday.  The cash lines were 121.48, 121.08, and 123.9 in the $2 50/50s I was in.  The Sunday cash lines that I saw were more 112-113pts.

On to week 5 - we going to have 100% of Brady going?? ;)

Gonna try to not look in the Week 5 thread.  Think I have fantasy football sensory overload.  Gonna just dumb it down and hope for the best.  Probably wont work, but that wont be anything new...lol

Definitely took about my worst hit in a while this week, Cam getting hurt being the biggest culprit, and Blount/NE's DEF, along w/ M. Jones Jr. chipping in. All had good 'H-value' ratings. Some games definitely did not play out the way we figured.

4th straight pretty meh week...

my cash lineups are killing me as i continue to make 2 lineups and have 1 cash and 1 epic fail.  every single week.  its really frustrating bc im on the same short list as all the good players (dd, buzz, tipandpick, knotts, the people itt, etc.).  like who didnt have the same fd cash game short list?

cam/cousins/rivers

bell/gordon/dj/howard

ab/beasley/hopkins/sd wrs

pitta/henry/miller

hopkins/lambo

wash/hou

but idk im just not combining them correctly or something.  i suppose the saving grace is that if you look over the lineups in the 50/50s you see some pretty damn bad ones.  the guy who 'won' one of my 50/50s last week had a crablegs/sims/evans stack lol.  as a matter of fact you see lots of people make crazy stacks in the low buy in 50/50 games.  it just really sucks to be losing to these people.  especially bc i really felt like i had it locked this week...

whatever, keep grinding i guess...

haha.  im glad im not the only one who thought this was ridiculous.  i know, lets randomly put the ball into this useless #######s hands a ton of times for no good reason...

Hello? Any help?  Should i just find an online sportsbook and monitor line movements through the week myself?  Do all sportsbooks publicize the public money percentage?  Is all this consolidated anywhere?

I answered this a few days ago.  Thespread.com.  At the bottom of the NFL section theres a link to % of public bets per side

That is what is so frustrating about this deal. Those are the guys I pay attention too also, and I have been up and down for 4 weeks too. The funny thing is this was my best week by far. I guess it shows how we all interpret the information differently. It is hard to believe these guys are winning money playing the players they preach to us sometimes. I think, " I played that exact players and got killed, yet they say they win!" But once again, I had Cam, Gordon, Howard, Henry, Lambo, Bell, AB, SD WR's, Beasley, Hopkins, Cousins in a lot of my LU this week and won. I have been following Buzz advice on playing 3 cash LU each week, and I think that has helped me a lot. That way I mix and match the Chalk plays and they are all not on one team usually. I actually scored one of my highest scores ever this week on FD with a lot of chalk plays  (Cousins, Bell, Gordon, AB, H Henry, Lambo, Wash) I added in Sanders, and Crabtree which obviously made a big difference. That got 162 points and carried me this week. One of my other LU had  a lot of Chalk also, (DJ, Howard, Marvin, Tyrell Will, Hopkins, Z Miller, Lambo, Ariz) I added Stafford and that scored me 81 freakin points!

The "experts" give us their opinions on players and we have to figure out how to apply that information to make our LU's. They for the most part got the RB's and value TE right this week, and sucked on the WR's. QB was alright, Cam would have been fine if he stayed in and Cousins hit over 2X value.

oh yeah your post reminds me that i had manny too but at the last minute moved some salary around and went from gordon/manny/wash to dj/dhop/nyj which just destroyed half of my cash lineups.  but idk i felt much safer with the second version.  upgrade 2 good players to 2 super elite players that just costs a minor defensive downgrade.  coulda used that extra like 30 pts :/

edit:  also the switch got me off 100% gordon (who was my #1 cash game rb play but i think he sucks irl) for diversification purposes.  sigh.

Yeah, like pod said above, I think it's just the combo of them and getting lucky in that regard. I played mostly the same people you list and had an above average week.  If you would have played Cousins/Gordon/DJ/AB/Beasley/Henry/Lambo/Houston you would have done alright, but if you played another combo it could have been a disaster.

I guess I don't know who the others are besides Dodds.  Don't know your spending over the weekend, but I am guessing these guys are in the thousands and thousandsof dollars.  If they are playing the guys they suggest, I am sure they have so many more combinations and lineups in vs. the average Joes.  Even if they did just go with 2-3 lineups, they probably have them in 100s of contests, and that would average out in the long run I would guess.  There is less room for error for my poor ### that is rolling out 3 lineups in 3 $2 2xs each week.

That, and if you follow Dodds' blog he does stacks and odd combos that they probably wouldn't suggest we do for cash games.  They can take more risks.  I don't know about the others that were mentioned, but every time I have seen him post a lineup he has put in, he has been using players he has on his CRITERIA list every week.

I guess I don't know what is expected as far as returns on the weekend when we are playing this.

Like you said though, it feels like every other gambling - betting, poker, horses, etc.. it feels like everybody but me is winning huge bank they way they talk.  I do miss the feature that they had last year where they posted their cash lineups and gpp lineups on FBG for the staff.  At least it gave you a little bit of a window into who you might trust, etc. I get it, it's not like they are going to continue winning $ by posting their lineups each week and giving away all their tips.

yeah i took my short list and ran it on excel and it came out to exactly 2x.  so i feel like im in the right place.  just didnt sequence it correctly this week.

The system exists because most people are losers long term.  Personally Im fine with that, its entertainment.  Its a skill game, and a challenge, and I enjoy playing the game every week trying to figure out the puzzle.
Remember the host site is going to take their rake, and the whales like Max Delury and Condia are going to eat so its impossible to avoid the numbers in the end.  If someone is telling you they win every week then theyre lying.  Especially touts.  Its just like the guru's in anything, if theyre telling you they have a sure fire cant miss system then run.  Theyre a con artist, it doesnt matter what comes out of their mouth after that.  Thats the reason I spend the majority of my prep time on here, I never feel like Im being fed ****.  I have so much respect for Devin, he spent alot of extra time he didnt have to last year helping us with college DFS.  And when a pick didnt work out he was loud about it too, because those were the picks that went right into his personal lineups.  Its also my favorite thing about Matthew Berry.  Dude gets things wrong.  But he has never pretended otherwise.
