I disagree that “most” Americans are sick of it. I think most Americans see Trump for what he is: a sociopathic racist (at worst) or bigot (at best) who is totally unqualified to hold the office he does. His sicophant base is obviously excluded; they believe anything he says, because it has given a voice to their own racist and bigoted views which have been under attack by the evolving global moral shift towards inclusion, acceptance and equality.Stealthycat said:I think too Trump is out to get fake news. I think he wants the American people to see that they're led into believing what the media wants them to believe. I don't think Trump is even thinking about 2020 and I'm not sure he'll even run again to be honest.
DNC continually bashing Trump is great for the alt-left that feed off it .......... but majority of American's are sick of it all IMO
The suppression of racist America has been liberated by his election. There is no question. It is like the ring of power has made its way out of the lake and armies are aligning.
I do not mean to suggest that all Trump supporters are lining up as orcs to champion the cause of racism. But the base is fanatical and, based on what I have seen over the last year, the racist underbelly of America has awoken. They have a new champion. Whether he actually identifies with them or not.
The effect of that has been a galvanization on the center and left. Liberty and the American dream are under attack. It seems hyperbolic, but it is not. Regardless of where you stand on fiscal, foreign policy or other issues, there can be no doubt that the leader of the free world is abusive, immoral, a compulsive liar and, in my submission, wholly unfit to hold the office that he does.
That you suggest Trump is a champion of the cause that the media is the enemy and controls the narrative only serves to reinforce the point. A president that deligitimizes a free press that is “anti-president” is a tyrant. The assault on the press by Trump is novel in a 21st Century western liberal democracy. And it is dangerous. These are uncharted waters and the damage being done in America might not be reversed.
You say Trump is out to expose the “fake news”. But he is, without question, the biggest purveyor of false and misleading information (fake news) we have ever seen from a North American democratic leader. This is the “leader” of the free world.
And, he is disgusting. Both in his words (grab ‘em by the #####) and his actions (making fun of a handicapped reporter). There are endless examples over the last two years that stand on their own, independent of any media coverage or spin. He is a sick human being. Truly.
I’m not American. But I love America. For the last 100 years America has been the beacon for all liberal democracies. Warts and all. The standard by which the rest of us have measured ourselves. At least economically and culturally, if not socially and politically.
But those days are over. The rest of the world no longer looks to America as the moral compass of this planet. And the reason for that is simple. It couldn’t be more simple, really: you elected quite possibly the antithesis of what not only a leader should be, but what a decent human being should be.
As I’ve said in multiple posts over the past year, I genuinely worry that America has truly jumped the shark.
