TE Mo Alie-Cox, IND (1 Viewer)

Bold move
Given Engram's start of 0.9, 6.5, 2.2, 3.5 points...it seemed like less of a no brainer.  And he saw his fewest targets this week...the TD run is the only thing that saved his day.  I still don't feel all that great about Engram going forward.

Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday.

Alie-Cox has become sadly irrelevant in fantasy since Trey Burton's return. That's despite the fact that Alie-Cox leads all tight ends in yards per route run. Alie-Cox's usage has collapsed to the degree that he should no longer be rostered in 10-12 team leagues.

Interesting how everything is written in the context of "Trey Burton returned so Mo's usage disappeared"...in an update that clearly reads like the guy can't even play physically.

Mo Alie-Cox (knee) won't play in Week 6 against the Bengals.

It isn't too impactful of a loss for Indianapolis since the team continues using both Trey Burton (11 targets) and Jack Doyle (3) over Alie-Cox since Burton returned in Week 4. Alie-Cox can (unfortunately) be dropped in 10/12-team re-draft leagues.

Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (knee) returned to practice Thursday.

He missed Week 6's game against the Bengals with the knee injury. Even a limited Thursday practice gives Alie-Cox a shot to play this week against the Lions, though he shouldn't be in fantasy lineups after Trey Burton seized the primary tight end pass catching role in the Colts' offense. Alie-Cox played just 38 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 5 and saw one target.

Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (knee) is questionable for Week 8 against the Lions.

Trey Burton was afforded a season-high 56% of snaps and 4/58/1 receiving without Alie-Cox prior to Indy's bye. Alie-Cox himself would merely eat into Jack Doyle's role in 12 personnel if healthy. Burton remains the team's No. 1 TE and should be treated as such in fantasy for Week 8.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (knee) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Lions.

Alie-Cox will return to a mess of a tight end room. Jack Doyle was targeted three times and played on 62% of the Colts' offensive snaps in their previous game. Trey Burton has been targeted five times in three consecutive weeks. Burton likely hangs on to a modest but fantasy-relevant role while Doyle and Alie-Cox render each other useless for fantasy purposes.

Glad to see Mo is back active but he will be riding the pine for me until we see how this three headed monster shakes out.

Mo Alie-Cox (knee) is active for Week 10 against the Titans.

Alie-Cox was a question on the short week, but he got in a "full" practice on Wednesday. He should see more targets with Jack Doyle (concussion) on the shelf, but not enough to push for top-18 relevance. Joining Doyle on the inactives list are QB Jacob Eason, CB Tremon Smith, DE Ben Bandgu and WR Dezmon Patton.

Mo Alie-Cox caught 3-of-4 targets for 19 yards in the Colts' Week 10 win over the Titans.

Even with Jack Doyle out, neither Alie-Cox or Trey Burton (3-24 on three targets) saw much of a box-score bump. Alie-Cox is an animal athletically and physically, but there are just too many mouths in this run-heavy offense.

Colts extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent TE Mo Alie-Cox.

In 31 games last season, Alie-Cox set career bests across the board with a 31-394-2 receiving line as the No. 3 tight end when Jack Doyle and Trey Burton were healthy. Burton is now a free agent. Alie-Cox is an elite athlete and blocker and is deserving of a bigger role in the Colts’ offense. He may be someone to watch for fantasy.

Mo Alie-Cox signed his restricted free agent tender.

It will be a one-year deal worth $3.384 million for the big tight end, who had a career year in 2020 with a 31-394-2 receiving line. Alie-Cox got a Week 2 spot start last season and proceeded to shred the Vikings for five catches and 111 yards. No amount of fantasy football wishing will catapult Alie-Cox into the team's starting role in 2021. The eminently boring but effective Jack Doyle is the favorite to serve as Indy's primary pass-catching tight end. SMU TE Kylen Granson, whom the Colts drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 draft, could get in the pass-catching mix this year.

I can't quit this guy even though he's a complete stiff for fantasy.  Tantilizing at times, and then he just gets shuffled aside.

Mo Alie-Cox caught 3-of-5 targets for 42 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts' Week 4 win over the Dolphins.

Alie-Cox was used extensively in the red zone and may have passed Jack Doyle on the depth chart. Doyle saw just one target and started the game on the bench before entering the game sporadically in the second half. If Doyle continues to see a reduced role, Alie-Cox could turn into an intriguing streaming option. For now, he's only worth rostering in deep leagues or formats that boost tight end scoring.

Mo Alie-Cox caught all three of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the 49ers.

It's the second straight game Alie-Cox has found the end-zone. He has at least 50 yards or a touchdown in four consecutive weeks and has done enough to remain a low-end TE1/high-end TE2. Alie-Cox has a shy away Week 8 matchup with a Titans secondary that's allowed the second-fewest points to opposing tight ends.

Used him this week as a Waller replacement. He gave me more than what Waller has been, so i'm extremely pleased. Plan to use him again with Waller's bye week this week.

Colts re-signed TE Mo Alie-Cox to a three-year, $18 million contract.

The return of the MAC, as many are calling it, is a surprisingly long-term deal for a player who has only ever earned a part-time role. Alie-Cox peaked at 394 receiving yards in 2020 and four touchdowns last year. However, he has been wildly efficient when given the ball. His career mark of 8.7 yards per target is top-notch for a tight end. With Jack Doyle retiring and the Colts giving Alie-Cox a multi-year deal in the same offseason, it's clear that they see the latter as their future at tight end. Alie-Cox will undoubtedly get some TE2 buzz based on the available targets and his history of efficiency.

Mo Alie-Cox caught 2-of-2 passes for 26 yards in Indianapolis' Week 1 tie against the Texans.

Alie-Cox spent most of his day as a blocker, and the Colts going to their two-minute offense for most of the second half killed a lot of his play-action upside. He's probably more of a TE2 as the Colts take on the Jaguars in Week 2.
