Jordan Wilkins - RB - Colts (1 Viewer)

A guy who will probably split carries with Williams, lose receptions to Hines in negative game scripts and faces the two toughest defenses vs RB on the road in weeks 14 and 15.  No thanks.
I need another RB and this waiver wire has been so bad... got to spend it on something at this point. It doesn't help that I'm a Wilkins fan. :X

Jordan Wilkins (ankle) was removed from the Colts' injury report Wednesday.

Jonathan Williams rushed 13 times and out-carried Nyheim Hines 10 to 3 when Marlon Mack (hand, out) left in the third quarter against Jacksonville, but that of course occurred with Wilkins out the picture. With all three presumably available on Thursday, Williams and Wilkins are expected to split early-down carries with Hines jumping in on passing downs. The latter remains the more intriguing option for PPR leagues while Williams and Wilkins both slide in as RB3/4s against Houston.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Jonathan Williams will serve as the Colts' starter Thursday against the Texans.

The former practice-squadder broke out for 116 yards on just 13 carries in last week's win over Jacksonville and will carry the mail again in Week 12, even with Jordan Wilkins due back from an ankle injury. Williams may lose passing-down opportunities to Nyheim Hines, but he's still the back to own in Indy, at least until Marlon Mack returns from his broken hand.

Jordan Wilkins was held without a touch in the Colts' Week 12 loss to the Texans.

If Wilkins played a snap, we didn't see it as Marlon Mack fill-in Jonathan Williams handled the ball a ridiculous 29 times. Perhaps Wilkins was only available on an emergency basis as he returned from an ankle injury, but that would not explain him being removed from the injury report on Wednesday. Either way, Wilkins can now be removed from the re-draft radar.

Maybe not on offense, but I am pretty certain that he (Wilkins) was on punt return team as "I think" he got nailed for a block in the back 1st QTR.

1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen suggests it's "not a slam dunk" Colts RB Jordan Wilkins makes the team.

"The Colts hardly ever use a 4th running back, and the skill group is now accounting for another body, with the signing of fullback Roosevelt Nix, who they envision having a routine offensive role," Bowen writes. Wilkins can certainly earn his way onto the team's roster by continuing his admirable performance on special teams, but as it pertains to having any inkling of an offensive role, the 25-year-old is obviously on the outside looking in. He'll open the year as Indy's No. 4 back behind Marlon Mack, Jonathan Taylor, and Nyheim Hines.

Colts RB Jordan Wilkins (calf) is questionable for Week 6 against the Bengals.

Wilkins did not practice on Thursday and Friday after a limited session on Wednesday. He appears to be a true game-time decision. Wilkins doesn't have standalone value but is a quality insurance back as Jonathan Taylor's direct backup on early downs. It can be argued that Wilkins has played better on fewer snaps. If Wilkins is unable to play, Taylor should be moved up back into the RB1 mix after two-straight dud weeks. Wilkins is averaging 5.6 carries per game.

Wait, what?  He’s been atrocious and a value killer for Taylor. Him not playing would be awesome news for us Taylor owners.

Colts RB Jordan Wilkins (calf) is available for Week 6 against the Bengals.

Wilkins didn't practice for either Thursday or Friday and yet is surprisingly declared active — a suspicious sign for his outlook. Fantasy and DFS players should move forward as if it's Jonathan Taylor who will handle a bulk of the work only one week after handling a season-high 70% of Indianapolis' backfield touches. Note that Cincinnati's run-stuffing NT D.J. Reader was moved to injured reserve mid-week.

For Taylor owners, this will be interesting to watch. Wilkins SHOULDN’T get carries as he shouldn’t be needed in this game.

Colts RB Jordan Wilkins (calf) played four offensive snaps in Week 6 against the Bengals.

Wilkins lost a yard on his lone carry against the Bengals. His calf injury has effectively removed him from a timeshare role in the Colts' backfield. Jonathan Taylor in Week 6 got 12 carries and four catches on four targets. Nyheim Hines has been relegated to a strictly pass-catching role, seeing six targets against the Bengals. Until Wilkins is fully recovered from the calf issue, Taylor should continue seeing the lion's share of backfield carries for the Colts.

Jordan Wilkins rushed 20 times for 89 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Lions.

This was a Wilkins take over, with the Colts riding his hot-hand in the second half. He vultured a goal-line score from Jonathan Taylor, who failed to convert on the play before. Wilkins also had a 24-yard catch — Indy's second longest play from scrimmage. It's a breakout game for Wilkins, who had just 94 yards rushing coming into Week 8. The career day should earn Wilkins more touches going forward.

Jordan Wilkins (groin) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Fresh off his big Week 8 against the Lions where he amassed 113 yards and one score on 21 touches, Wilkins appears to have taken a slight lead over Jonathan Taylor as the Colts' early-down back ahead of their Week 9 date with the Ravens. Wilkins is an RB3.

Jordan Wilkins (groin) was a full participant for Thursday's practice.

As was Jonathan Taylor (ankle). Wilkins led Indy’s backfield in both snaps (39, 51%) and touches (21) with Taylor getting nicked up during Sunday's win over the Lions, presumably entrenching the former as the team's lead back until proven otherwise. This backfield is a headache poised to frustrate fantasy managers weekly since all three (Nyheim Hines included) will be involved in every matchup. Wilkins is still projected to lead the trio in touches with Hines leading in catches against the Ravens.

Average talent trash bag attracting zero interest in the FF community.

IMO last week was an aberration.

It should be duly noted I am often wrong.

I'm surprised no one in my 16-team league has picked him up. Maybe you're right. And it looks like RBBC.

But apparently he breaks tackles at a good rate, so maybe we're all underestimating him: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fantasypros.com/2020/11/is-jordan-wilkins-worth-picking-up-2020-fantasy-football/amp/

Good stuff, thanks.

Situations matter.

But just about any other situation we’re scrambling to throw FAAB at a guy who posts 113 and a TD. Zero chatter. Here or the WW thread. Still on our WW too. I’ve got 8-9 RBs on a 18-man, lots of lottery tickets, and I passed.

Hope we are reading this correctly & it was just a one shot deal. ‘twas free. Another week of 10+ touches & 50 yards, it’s gonna be expensive to pick him up Week 10.

Jordan Wilkins rushed eight times for 28 yards in the Colts' Week 10 win over the Titans.

Wilkins and Jonathan Taylor (7-12) both left a lot to be desired in a game the Colts won by double-digits. Both took back seats to Nyheim Hines, who rushed a season-high 12 times for 70 yards and one touchdown while posting 5-45-1 in the passing game. Wilkins failed to catch his lone target in the passing game and was stuffed early in the night on a fourth-and-one at the goal line. He and Taylor were terrible in short yardage situations. Wilkins will be a low-floor RB3 next week against the Packers.

he almost popped one in which would have made the terrible line a little better....but Indy is definitely a do not play zone for RBs!

Jordan Wilkins had six rushes for 22 yards in the Colts' Week 12 loss to the Titans, adding three receptions for 35 yards.

Wilkins and Nyheim Hines combined for nine grabs against the Titans, but it was Hines who was the clear RB1 with Jonathan Taylor (COVID-19) sidelined. Wilkins missed a couple offensive series with a rib injury but seemed fine upon his return. Wilkins is no more than a RB4 with Jacoby Brissett dominating goal line work for the Colts.
