#Walkaway movement from the democrat party—BLEXIT is happening folks!

Recommended Posts

I assume people walk away from both sides at different times in their lives for different reason and with a country as large as ours you will always be able to find people to prove your point.

But ignoring that, how about we focus on our community - the one where we have know people for years - people that have told their walk away story (whether it be walking away from one party to the other or from one party to being Independent).  GBs like Yankee and Ivan and Bob and Woz - hell, I will include myself to a degree.  There’s lots of people around here, smart people, who have have said that they can no longer vote with the party and for the policies of that party any more.  And that party is the GOP.  I’d love to here from somebody here that we’ve known for years and has the opposite story and would be willing to share that story.

You see, there’s always going to be policy differences, there’s always going to be differences on tax cuts and how we spend our money - I think everybody expects those things and debates around it can be healthy.  But right now we have a side that is demonizing immigration and is telling minorities they shouldn’t protest.  Immigration and protesting are two things that make our country great.  If people really want to walk towards those policies then it says a lot more to me about those people than about what they claim they are walking away from.

After listening to Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez talk it should be #runaway, not #walkaway.  Could anyone sound more ignorant and uninformed?   Someone ask this nut job who is going to pay for all this free stuff?  That's right, let the government give all this free stuff (free medicare for all, free college education, free housing, universal jobs guaranteed,  and others.  Also, while you're at it let's open our borders to everyone and abolish ICE.  Her ignorance on the Israel and Palestine was entertaining to watch.   If this is where the democratic party is going, I'm sure it is welcome news to conservatives.  Most Americans don't want this socialist BS, which never works by the way.  That message may have influence in New York and possibly California, but not in most of America and never will.  I refer to her as #crazyeyes

Updated to indicate education as college.

Simple enough....take any one of the proposed items and ask yourself how many decades of that program could be paid for by the tax cut package that Trump and the GOP gave to rich people and big business.  Being concerned about paying for things is very 1999.....that ship has sailed.

I voted dem my entire life, but the message seems so negative from them lately, it feels like it’s time to vote independent or third party.

The message sof...

  • Protecting the right to choose
  • Healthcare for all
  • Supporting women who have been sexual assaulted and promoting #metoo
  • Supporting an open immigration policy

just to name a few.  I would think these are things a lifelong democratic supporter would recognize.  Through all the media noise the message is there.

What I have heard talking to people is they are tired of feeling like they are looked down on by the left.  I've posted before that a good # voted for trump because of that.

Maybe Gopher is saying that their platform isn't negative, but they are getting caught up in the negative tactics of the right?  Ie if you don't support young trans kids getting hormones and surgery you are a transphobe,  if you say men and women aren't the same, you are sexist and could get tagged for hate speech, etc..  it turns people off from both sides when your views are crapped on.

This is a real movement wether you want to believe it or not. Many former Democrat's are starting to see what the party truly is on top of results that Trump is producing.

Trump said his massive tax cut would increase workers wages by $4,000 per family.

Official gov't data was just released and it shows real wages have DECREASED 0.4% over the last year

Maybe that is what @Gopher State is saying, I will wait to hear that from him,

If that is what you think then I think it is interesting that some would rather congregate with the racist, sexists and homophobes because they don't like to be viewed as racist, sexist or homophobic.

Just relaying an observation.  I could see it making people want to vote 3rd party like Gopher suggested.

A big problem with both sides is the fringes scream the loudest and lose people in the middle.

The fringe elements of literal neonazis walking the street or not wanting poor people to die from preventable illnesses, I guess both sides are wrong. Equally wrong. If someone is lost in the middle due to loud people on the fringe, they are either the straight ticket republican voters who say they are independent because they are to cowardly to own their terrible policies, or they are dumb. There might have been space for moderation in the 80's, but it is gone now.

Walkaway, Q, biggest electoral win of all time, NK denuclearization, it's like these people do nothing but immerse themselves in fake stories and are so invested in them that they'll just regurgitate every single party line in support of the fakeness.

What a bizarre time for our country.

Facebook banned the founder of the walkaway movement. Link

It is pretty incredible watching in real time as social media companies, the MSM, and Dem leadership move closer and closer to behaving just like Nazis.

And even more depressing to see the easily manipulated masses be perfectly okay with this behavior.

And for those who liken this to the Nazis, Facebook and Twitter are not government entities, they are private companies. Also, while we all enjoy the 1st Amendment freedom of speech, there is no Constitutional right to have a Facebook or Twitter account.

I don't think he understands this.  It's a simple concept but chooses to not think outside his narrow view.

Nazis were white supremacists who were hostile to other races and in favor of consolidation of power in an autocratic leader. Any sensible and meaningful application of Godwin's Law points directly at a different group of folks.

Godwin’s law has been suspended.  It’s ok to call Nazis what they are.

Private businesses are free to ban posters.  In this case, the particular poster has been shown to have posted false information for the purpose of drawing a reaction.  It’s no different than if Joe banned you, weebs, opie, qanon, etc.

I know people have hammered you on this a lot over the years but in this case it's 100% relevant. You fell hard for the New Hampshire voter fraud thing, a hoax perpetrated by right wing online types who were trying to alter perceptions of the relative popularity of each side of the aisle.  So you really don't have a lot of credibility when it comes to evaluating allegations that right wing types are engaged in a hoax aimed at altering perceptions of the relative popularity of each side of the aisle.

Wasn’t me but I thought it was stupid for a case like this to go to the SC

-why would you want to give hard earned money to a person that

-if a person held those negative beliefs about me why on earth would I want to force them into making something for me

For the same reason as black folks in the 60s sat in those segregated Woolworth lunch counters

People like you were probably asking then: Why are these Negroes so uppity as to want to spend their money on a meal that the store did want to serve to them?

Is it mental gymnastics / intellectual dishonestly, or just not that bright?

Never can tell.

It's mental gymnastics and intellectual dishonesty being performed by those who aren't that bright.  Makes for good theater.  That's about it.

He was temporarily suspended for adding InfoWars content/video to his facebook account.  Because InfoWars has been banned from facebook.

His accounts are still online.

He was taken down because there is a #Walkaway march scheduled in 6 weeks and they did not want him to have access to hi followers.

He was taken down (I watched the video), he had to restart and many of his followers helped spread the word.

This movement is also too large to stop.

Meh, #Walkaway membership is like the New Black Panthers (probably less than a dozen people). In fact the New Black Panthers, probably has more members.

The Walkaway Campaign page has a video posted by it in May.  It certainly wasn't taken down.
