Regular Season Jibber Jabber/Snap Count Master Thread (3 Viewers)

It sounds like Marcus Maye is almost ready to return to the Jets lineup. Will he push Middleton to the bench or will there be some kind of 3 way split at Safety between Adams, Middleton and Maye?
I won't pretend to know what it will do between Middleton & Maye, but it won't be a 3 way spilt. Adams is a top SS and will be 100%.

I was way off... it's Sampsonite!

lol... sorry. few more IPAs than I realized, apparently. Thought I added a T. .... but got the last name wrong anyway. Terrell Edmunds, PIT S.
LOL nice

Mike Hilton and Morgan Burnett are doubtful so he should get a lot of action again this week

Beats the full story on Leonard? Blurb said he left the facility in a walking boot. Hopefully it is procautionary. He has held down my LB Corp so far. I already reached out to A Walker owner about inquiring. Obviously I am not tryin to handcuff a LB but Walker is productive and start able on his own right now and would be even more so if Leonard misses time... Anyone else thinking the same.

Good info, thanks. No idea what's going on there but targeting Skai Moore makes a lot of sense. Cheaper than Walker (since he's looking quite good) and you could catch an owner that isn't aware of Leonard's potential injury.

I held Marquel Lee.... looks like maybe it's finally paying off. Nice stat line this week 4T 6A 2PD

The snap count sure looks like a changing of the guard. MR... you watching these Raiders game? Anyone else catch the last few Raiders games? Is it game script, injury, or a last chance to get Lee cheap?

Week 1 Lee 38% DJ 62%

Week 2 Lee 38% DJ 65%

Week 3 Lee 64% DJ 32%

Week 4 Lee 79% DJ 27%

i'd be wary of the production. keep in mind that it was an OT game after all. the snap counts trend the right way but is the juice worth the squeeze?

Welcome back Denico Autry (with your sexy, sexy DT designation)!

Didn't seem to affect Margus Hunt all that much.  Anyone with Indy insight as to the DL use/rotation?

Looked at the play-by-play listing on NFL.com and his name is listed 14 times for the tackle/assist.... through regulation then none in OT. With nobody in their right mind (except Chucky?) expecting much from old man DJ, I'd say it's the appropriate time to squeeze. My perspective is 12 team / 55-60 per roster, so that has to be considered for anyone reading... and even there I probably won't be starting him for his next game.

Safety updates...

Reid signed today to replace Searcy. Rookie Rashaan Gaulden isn't ready anytime soon.

Whitehead as SS in Tampa replacing Conte.

Richards at SS in Atlanta. Kazee staying at FS.
Quick update here...

Whitehead didn't play after all because of injury to his shoulder. Not sure if/when he gets back on the field.

Reid should get snaps with the Carolina bye week over now. I'm not starting him yet but I'll be interested to see snap counts.

Richards split time with Brian Poole at SS. Richards didn't get a ton of snaps at SS (19) but it is not entirely surprising. I have to think the ATL defense is due for a big ol' shake up due to their suckitude lately.

Anothe stuff ion to keep your eyes on is Geathers recovery from a limited practice due to knee soreness. Might be nothing but if isn't a go Thursday night verse the Pats it could be a ripe situation for Fairley, who had 7-1 stat line himself on Sunday. It seems as if Ind defense is supporting so many decent to great options right now with so many table opportunities each week.

I think you've gotta go Mosley. Young has been great but I'd expect Mosley to go right back to full time, though he may not be 100% of snaps for this week. (I benched Ramik Wilson who went off last night for Mosley.... maybe I'm just being overly hopeful? lol)
Good choice.  Young seemed to be on the field a lot but Mosley looked like his usual self.  Luckily the team I was going against was done and I had a minimal lead so I just went with the safest guy.  He turned out to be the highest scoring guy too.

Farley. Still a good pick, just trying to help anyone searching for him with the spelling.

Quandre Diggs S DET expected to miss some time with a broken hand suffered in Week 4 vs Dallas.

Anyone have any idea what's up with Melvin Ingram? He was a top-10 DL last year, and this year he's a ghost, despite rarely coming off the field. Is it that he's not playing opposite Bosa so the opportunities are fewer?

He is playing well and should have had two sacks this week (Just looking at the box score doesn't pain the total picture).  One he was just beaten to the QB by an unblocked Derwin James (but they could have ruled it a half sack each as they both got there about the same time).  The other play he had the QB by the legs while he was on the ground and then a O-lineman jumped on Ingram's back and allowed the QB to break free.  It very easily could have been a two sack game for Ingram.

Week #1 he had three QB hits so he is getting pressure.  I think he just hasn't been getting the reward yet but it will come.  I am sure not having Bosa shifts much of the focus to Ingram but he is still getting pressures and if James keeps up his pace the opposition will have to make an adjustment to account for James and Ingram may benefit a bit.

I am not that worried but it is frustrating if you don't get points for QB hits.  I do, so that has saved Ingram from being virtually shut out in a couple games.  Be patient and I would actually see about low balling his owner to see if you can get a deal.  I think he will have some monster games once these things break his way a bit.

Any thoughts on V. Burfict ROS? Resume 3-down role and same as it ever was production-wise?

I'm a little concerned his stats might take a dip relative to the past now that he has two productive guys alongside him (N. Vigil, P. Brown).

I know next to nothing about this guy but I see he had a big stat line. Who is he? Is he a guy to watch or a guy to grab?

I think the big bonus here is that he is playing DE but is designated as a DT in many platforms so if you require a DT you get a bit of a bonus possibility.  I am planning on taking a chance and picking him up.

he was a ghost when he was with OAK last year and starting. he's got value, i guess, working the scoring system as DT designation. i'm guessing though he'll lose more snaps to 2nd rounder Turay as the season progresses. Nice analysis of him here

Is Antone Exum worth an add in CB leagues? Lit it up the last two weeks.
His stats 2 weeks ago were bonkers... 12 tackles plus. But he came back down to earth with last week and got a huge bump with a TD. Still a decent play I'd say since Tartt doesn't seem ready to return. AZ looks like they found a pulse so it should be a decent opportunity game for Exum if Tartt is still out.

Tartt returned to a full practice today.

Bruce Irvin was down to 43% this week, while Rucker & Key were 64/60, respectively. Anyone know if this was injury related? I don't see anything about Irvin getting banged up but in-game injury doesn't always result in post-game news if a guy goes back in.

I didn't see this when it first happened, but the Pats picked up John Simon, to me hes a perfect Patriot, hard worker, blue collar and smart. But he only played like 20 snaps in his first game and had a couple tackles and a sack. MFL has him as a DE, but what I read had him playing a similar role to the rookie LB that is out for the year. I didn't wanna post anything till I picked him up cause multiple people from my leagues visit this site. Just saying there may be some potential there if you need a DE.

Simon is a watch for me at this point. The low snap count worries me at this point. I try to roster guys that see a high percentage of the snaps as I feel they will be more consistent.

He fits the Pats profile of a ham and egger. Like Ninkovich in that he's bounced around some before Pats found a good role for him. Simon has skills and they need a pass rush specialist.

It was his first game and I think they signed him during the week. Agree this could be a bad rotational situation, but I think he will emerge. Just like Saint pointed out above, they love these kinda guys, Ninkovich, is a good comparison and he wasn't rotational till the end. Simon is more talented than anyone on that line except maybe Flowers. Obviously if your set at DE this is not a sure thing or must pick up. But i had the space and I am looking at bye week filler for Hunter and Chandler Jones, also hoping I am right and he starts getting a lions share. We shall see. ;)

Meant to add, if he is playing some LB (Football Outsiders has all 20 def snaps at LB) also, that will give him some more tackle opportunities. 2 tackles /3 assists and a sack in 20 snaps

I don't know why BB is doing it, and a ####ty defense for a few years now makes me question it more and more, but even the better players don't hit 70%. Its stupid.... but its happening consistently and I sold Flowers last year in all my leagues. NE truly is the a black hole for idps.

Has anything changed now that Patricia is in DET?

No. I think it's all Bill. Everything he always preaches is "situational football" and I think the constant packages are a result of that. My guess is that the league has changed enough that the personnel is more specialized... but the personnel here in NE is on the decline constantly, it seems. I sometimes get the feeling he's outsmarting himself, as dumb as that sounds...

Assists galore from the Patriots stat crew.

Colts 23+54 (Franklin with 1 solo & 10 assists  )

Patriots 42+30

He was playing a LB role last night. PFR snap count has him at a whppping 5 snaps (6%)....

Once again, only DBs cracked 70%. Trey Flowers at 60%... best DL on the team. Clayborn saw more time and is talented enough to be on watch lists but, and this may be a bit repetitive, NE is a terrible place to look for non-DB IDPs for your lineup (or even your roster).

Also worth noting that Najee Goode was in for the injured DROY-favorite Leonard and Zaire Franklin came on when Walker was lost to concussion protocol. Skai Moore was called up from the PS but had 0 snaps. Looks like Goode is the top target if either of the starting ILBs can't go, but the extra time off from TNF to week 6 is probably enough for Walker to get cleared. I'm not sure if we know what the extend of Leonard's injury is, making Goode a decent flier in case it's the dreaded H.A.S. that has DL in a boot.

Yeah, I watched most that game and rarely saw him. I’m still holding if I can, cause I still think he’s a very good player and eventually will get more time.

Someone got impatient with Solomon Thomas and dropped him... I am always DE deficient and grabbed him. Hopefully his steadily increasing snap count will continue and he rounds into a DE worthy of his high pick status.

Gotta feeling about Larry Ogunjobi this week.

Ravens allow pressure up the middle and will be concentrating on stopping Myles.

Add, Jabril Peppers has been getting flak and when he is lined up threatening to blitz it prevent double teams.

He should have had a fumble recovery and return for a TD last week but a ridiculously quick whistle and a mea culpa from the league a few days later is sure to have stoked some fire.

Gotta feeling about Larry Ogunjobi this week.
Hard to imagine a goose egg from this guy given the way he started the season, but that's life with defensive tackles sometimes.  If a guy has been blowing up offensive linemen, sometimes a team says, "we're not gonna let this guy beat us ... we're gonna double team him all game."  And sometimes, they just don't show up in the stat columns, despite how well they play.
