The only thing that will save Trump's reelection is if the economy comes roaring back just on time. I have my doubts that is going to happen.Friend is arguing that the pandemic will result in Trump reelection. Thoughts?
More of politicians being the new celebrities. Disgusting.Remember when this guy was a rising star https://i.imgur.com/z09GLkN.jpg
This. But Trump supporters seem to believe that this issue will help him. I'm fairly sure he was getting beaten by Biden no matter what. One just has to look at the states that Bernie beat Hillary in but Biden beat Bernie. These are the states that Hillary just lost and Biden needs to win. Florida is so close that more old people voting for Biden then Hillary and the fact that felons can now vote all bode well to Biden closing the 100k vote gap there. The only thing that will save Trump's reelection is if the economy comes roaring back just on time. I have my doubts that is going to happen.
Certainly people aren't going to be pointing to his handling of this crisis for a reason to vote for him. Im confident about that.
I really don't think Trump has a shot in November.
Which is likely related to all these "when is Bernie dropping out?" articles/tweets/interviews that are miraculously springing up in a completely uncoordinated effort.Ten million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.
One thing's for sure- these folks love their employer insurance plans. I've seen costs for coronavirus treatment with no insurance running around thirty-four thousand dollars.
I would love to see debates on healthcare now that the current system is leaving people on the street to die. It'd be great to see their industry-friendly talking points exposed for the sham they always were. Coronavirus Cures For All Who Want It.
I’ll just say it, anybody who votes for Biden (or yes, Trump too for the obsessives) support this outrageousness.Ten million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.

Trump won by 23k votes, the liberal is up by 73k now. That Wisconsin Supreme Court result should scare the Trump out of Republicans.
180 polling places cut down to five in Milwaukee. The surge of absentee ballots not processed because the Republican Supreme Court ruled they wouldn't count.
And it still wasn't enough.
Some very interesting results for WI. With 2/3's reporting, the Presidential Dems received 645k to GOP 449k. WI Supreme Court, Karofsky (Liberal) 563k to Kelly (Conservative) 495k. About 36k less SC votes than Presidential candidate votes, and Kelly received 54k more than trump. That Wisconsin Supreme Court result should scare the Trump out of Republicans.

I'm not sure that I'm surprised. Maybe a little since it's a Spring election and turnout last year was very low. However, the 2018 WI mid-terms witnessed a bit of a blue wave. Tony Evers, knocking out GOP donor heavyweight Scott Walker, and Evers is not someone I would consider a great candidate. WI also leans strong towards healthcare as a primary voting issue. Education too as evidence of the huge number of school referendums across the state. And then add in some farm tariffs on top of it all. Still a very moderate state and the economy is just as important, but I wouldn't be surprised if Biden won in November.Wow. Not what I expected out of Wisconsin.
It’s also notable that the two Walker-appointed incumbent circuit court judges up for re-election today both lost by about 20 points to newcomers. Some very interesting results for WI. I was happy to vote for Paul and admired him back in the day, but he's shown himself to be a complete ###hole in retirement. Maybe he was all along and I just didn't notice. His son is also a complete ####stick. #### Ron Paul."Every year when Bernie Sanders sells out I am reminded of how truly rare & remarkable Ron Paul's integrity really was. I'm glad I never watched him endorse his political antithesis because it was politically or financially advantageous. Wish there were more like him out there."
Has he? How so?I was happy to vote for Paul and admired him back in the day, but he's shown himself to be a complete ###hole in retirement. Maybe he was all along and I just didn't notice. His son is also a complete ####stick. #### Ron Paul.
Most recently, he's been a vocal Coronavirus denier (calling it a "hoax") and has called for Trump to fire Fauci. Prior to that, he seemed to be lockstep with Rand (at least to me, I don't follow him much anymore.)Has he? How so?
I’m with you on Rand, seems like most of his principles up and disappeared once Trump took office.
You mean guys who wrote racist stuff in newsletters and then tried to claim it wasn’t them? Yeah that’s the sort of guy we need."Every year when Bernie Sanders sells out I am reminded of how truly rare & remarkable Ron Paul's integrity really was. Long overdue. It's almost like most states don't want us to vote.Have we noted that Virginia just passed legislation making Election Day a state holiday?
The confusion might be the reporting on physical turnout vs mail in voting. I think physical turnout was well below 10%SaintsInDome2006 said:I'd probably agree with Trumpites and say the WI results don't mean anything about anything but apparently turnout in Milwaukee increased almost 20% over 2018 and 2016. That should worry Republicans.
I don't know anything about the numbers, for whatever reason I thought turnout was really low, like really really low, but that maybe was at the polls themselves? At any rate if that's correct, that's the path to Dem victory, turnout in Milwaukee, Detroit & Philly, IMO.
I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but generally this is correct. Absentee voting (by mail and via drive-up in the week or so prior to election day) was many multiples of the norm. In-person voting was way down. That's why we all expect the GOP to attack and limit these "alternate" forms of voting in November. They're laying the groundwork now. In Wisconsin, it is going to create some hilarious contradictions - for example, our entire supreme court, president Trump and all of our troops all voted by mail this year, but it will be attacked as fraudulent. The GOP, at least in Wisconsin, is very comfortable with blatantly contradicting themselves for baldly partisan reasons. When the governor's office changed parties last year, the GOP legislature had no problem reversing years of practices, policies and laws to strip his office of the power they had centralized there under the former administration. The confusion might be the reporting on physical turnout vs mail in voting. I read on the twitters that something like 80% of the Wisky ballots were some variation of mail.I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but generally this is correct. Old people also vote by absentee ballot. Are they going to make them trudge to the polls to get their vote in?I read on the twitters that something like 80% of the Wisky ballots were some variation of mail.
Yes, this will be an enormously important issue in the next few months (among many). In addition to Donald and a large percentage of military members voting by mail, Republicans will also be in the uncomfortable position of explaining why Utah -- Utah!! -- can apparently make voting by mail a secure reality but other states can't.
Getting rid of Tillis would be huge for flipping the Senate. Also happy to see Dan Forest getting drilled. My cousin, who is bat#### crazy (currently part of the #ReopenNC crew) is a huge Forest supporter so I know how awful he is.A good poll out in NC:
Joe Bruno @JoeBrunoWSOC9
2020 NC poll from Public Policy Polling: Biden 48 Trump 47
#ncsen: Cunningham 47 Tillis 40
#ncgov: Cooper 50 Forest 36
April 14-15, 1318 NC voters, +/- 2.7
Cooper has done a good job in his term and shutting things down in NC ahead of the cases. 39th in cases/deaths per capita. Agree with regard to Tillis.Getting rid of Tillis would be huge for flipping the Senate. Also happy to see Dan Forest getting drilled. I learned just now from this thread the results of that WI supreme court race. For some reason I just assumed the incumbent won due to the supreme court ruling and did not recall seeing any news anywhere. That Wisconsin Supreme Court result should scare the Trump out of Republicans.

People watch him every day and make their own conclusions.Just a month ago Trump and his supporters were riding high on the results of the Gallup poll. What say you now?
A new poll suggests that President Trump’s approval rating has slipped 6 percentage points over the past month amid the coronavirus pandemic health crisis which has forced the shuttering of much of the nation’s economy.
The president’s slide in a new Gallup national survey comes as the poll shows a plunge in the percentage of Americans satisfied with the ways things are going right now in the country.

Yep, this guy trips all over himself to look as bad as possible every single night on television. Biden should be paying Trump for all these free commercials.People watch him every day and make their own conclusions.
His own ego is dragging him down. As it should.
Ironically, Trump himself considers this "free tv". It's why he goes out there every day instead of just letting the actual experts run the show.Yep, this guy trips all over himself to look as bad as possible every single night on television. I'm confused. Do the Republicans have a health care for all?Ten million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.

They have a plan, the best plan. You just have to reelect them before they will share it.Do the Republicans have a health care for all?
How so...do you not think it points to his own problems and lack of leadership?
Populist nationalism is usually successful. It wasn’t invented by Trump.as to why.
Link?Trump is going to win again and 75% of this forum will be scratching their head as to why
You're right it SHOULD, but thats the problem... the Dems can't get out of their own way enough and they get smashed like thisHow so...do you not think it points to his own problems and lack of leadership?
