I do get rooms in borgata comped. Even got Saturdays at Water Club. No clue why. I don't gamble too much.

Winter comps are easier than summer comps.

They don't usually fill on non holiday event weekends.  I used to go a lot. When the wife and I got down to going only once a year, I still could get a comp Sunday through Thursday.

But I guess living/working close just it's not as fun anymore

Beautiful weather in AC area this labor day weekend. Not exactly beach weather but very pleasant to walk around in.

AC is very again too. People are definitely visiting again.

Was it busy there too?

I'm on the boardwalk side (Tropicana, Ballys, and Ocean). They are definitely all making money again, that's for sure.

Brigantine was it's normal not too busy until Friday morning holiday crowd

Harrah's was average busy, lot of hustle and bustle but they had tables limited to keep the tables fuller

Yeah, some people may say it's the more run down, smaller, white trash cousin of Las Vegas....but I like it!

Post all (good and bad) happenings, stories, events, etc. related to Atlantic City here.
Anyone been to AC lately? The wife and I haven’t been in years

Anyone ever been to Resorts AC?

Anyone ever been to Resorts AC?
I was up in January and had a good time. Planning another trip for the summer or fall. Probably stay at Harrahs due to getting a comped room and close proximity to poker rooms (both Harrahs and Borgata). I do love the boardwalk though and all it’s sketchiness.

Resorts used to be decent....afaik it's not very good anymore but that is third hand information. I haven't been to AC in a couple years minus the one visit in September and resorts in 5 if not more....ymmv

Thanks

The wife and I are comped for 2 nights , we are going in June. We’ll see I guess

As long as the room is clean we’ll be good to go, we will only use it to shower and crash

What buffets are open now in AC?

I see Borgata is open. Did Harrah’s close there’s?
So its my understanding that it had to close during the pandemic and they decided to not open it and open Rum Pointe and seafood casual/upscale restaurant plus opening the baywalk.

timely bump, will be there for a week for my daughter's dance competition at the end of June.

I was there 1x back when I was 21 (which is almost 30 years ago).

What's good to do when not at the comp? Things to avoid? Places to eat for a family with 16 and 12 year old?

We are staying at Harrahs

Not sure where we are staying, my wife set it all up with the dance studio.
Find out where you're staying first. IMO Its a pain in the ### to drive between all the casinos.

If you are staying at Harrahs -

Drive into brigantine and grab lunch maybe dinner here -

https://www.lagunagrillandrumbar.com/

Its gets crowded - I forget if they take reservations (Covid changed everything for a while)

The Laguna Mac & CHeese is awesome

I havent been to Harrahs in years. Its one of the nicer casinos there. It is very far from boardwalk and you would even have to drive to Borgata which is next to it.
They actually have a path to walk to Borgata - its like a 20 minute walk.   There is also a quicker dirt path if you want to test it for like 10 minutes.

Anyone eat at Tony’s Baltimore Grill? How was it?

I’ve been to trying it for the longest time.

Another great trip to AC in the books. Although Spirit Air isn’t my favorite airline by far, it’s such a convenient flight from RSW to ACY (little over 2 hours up).
I went to a number of casinos but stayed at Tropicana. Lots of great places to eat at the Trop. Overall, I’d say Ocean Resort was the nicest casino. I’d really like it if they brought back their poker room though. That would probably then become my go-to place to stay every trip. Ended the trip up on sports betting, down on slots (small play), and down on poker. I was unbelievably card dead the whole trip. Many, many hours played and no KK, no AA, had my QQ run into AA, had my AK run into KQ with a K in the flop and then a Q on the river, etc. it was one of those poker trips.

Anyone know what’s being built inside the Wild Wild West Casino (between Ballys and Caesar’s)? They have a big section tarped off in front of the sports book.

Still a wonderful city. Nice to see some snow for a change.
I'm starting to go there more often. Looking forward to next trip for March Madness. Usually stay at the Hard Rock because I always get free rooms and I'm not even a huge gambler. Love it. Makes me feel young again.

Never came back to this thread I see

We’ve been to Resorts 3-4 times. The rooms are fine, clean. The service is good. We can almost always play $10 3 card. Sometimes it’s $5. The food isn’t FANTASTIC but we haven’t tried the 2 nicest restaurants. We aren’t into getting all dressed up and fine dining. The raw bar is a good spot and we never have to wait. Decent food court for lunch

We always get 2 nights free and some food credits , and we are not “high rollers”.
Hoping to make it back in June

Try Hard Rock. Awesome hotel/casino. Always feels like a party. Great restaurants. Clean rooms. I'm also not a high roller and they comp me free rooms pretty much whenever I want.

Not sure if it's because I live 45 minutes away or because I used to go a ton but it's definitely lost it's luster. Not sure the last time I've been there

Then we'll spend a couple weeks, 5 minutes from there at the beach and still rarely go in

It used to be the only casino option we had. I’m in Pa. Now that NY and Pa have table games and slots we don’t go to AC as often as we used to. We try to go to wildwood for a week in early summer and stay in AC 2 nights at the of the week. We still look forward to it but not like before

I actually feel the opposite. It's bounced back in a big way with some of these "new" casinos.

Since PARX was built I haven't been to AC. Might make a trip down there with the wife this year.

And I think once NY gets going with their casinos, AC will lose a ton of business. Seems like every other poker player at the Borgata has a NY accent.

AC has already lost a ton of New York business to the Native American-owned Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, both of which are not too far away in Connecticut.

Heading down tomorrow with 2 other couples that have never been

What could go wrong?? 😬
Trip report?
We had a blast.
The wind blew about 80 mph so we didn’t spend much time outside. I don’t think I’ve ever seen waves that big before.
Landshark was closed for renovations, that sucked.
$5 then $10 tables on Friday, $10 on Saturday as expected.
$15 craps the entire time we were there including Saturday morning with no one playing 🙄

It wasn’t as busy as I’d expected on Friday. Saturday was normal busy.
The dealers this trip sucked. At least smile when you’re taking my money…
I think we are heading back in June

No cornholio
