I don't want to support Trump especially in a swing state. I despise him. Even as a really moderate Republican for small government/2nd amendment/pro capitalism reasons I wrote in Mitt Romney/voted down ballot Red in 2016 and by Democrat standards I don't hate Biden. He's a decent guy and relatively moderate.
But when his side believes me to be inferior and seeks to deprive me of opportunity solely on the basis of my race (Asian) I see no other choice. And then throw in Kamala being that close to being president
Still genuinely undecided between Trump and just voting down ballot but how can any self respecting person vote for the party that cheers this on:

“Hispanics received a bonus of 185 points.”
"Asian Americans, Lee says, are penalized by 50 points — in other words, they had to do that much better to win admission.""

I try my best to support efforts against racism and support many aspects of the black lives matter movement (not the organization though) and be sensitive to the need for police reform (definitely not abolition/defunding) and the systemic racism in enforcement of drug laws and criminal justice. I show my displeasure with scumbags like Joe Arpaio for their concrete actions of racism against Hispanics such as in that Arizona house bill years ago
And what do I get?
Who seems to be the only institution ever speaking up for me and defending the idea of merit?
Oh right the Republican Party and somehow Donald J. Trump's Department of Justice
While the one branding themselves the party of diversity and immigrants tries to make America into the country my mom fled from as a little girl (Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ilhan Omar mainly) and is busy speaking up reparations, for people who throw grenades into courthouses and championing free healthcare for ILLEGAL immigrants, with its leaders like privileged white woman Liz Warren praising the morality of affirmative action to millions of Asians (and whites) studying like dogs in the face of crippling cultural and parental pressure and often ending up with lifelong mental health problems as a result---while simultaneous cheating the system herself as a "woman of color" (rules for thee not for me)
So yeah: this pro choice, pro gay, vegetarian, pro legal immigration, anti government spying, anti war, environmentalist (though not Green New Deal bs), pro drug legalization, anti death penalty, pro mask (shouldn't even need to be said) POC son of two Asian immigrants (who are definitely voting Trump) will definitely vote Republican and consider Trump long before I ever vote for the people that--while claiming to champion immigrants--in fact spit on the faces of legal immigrants that achieve the American Dream by becoming doctors and later small business owners against all obstacles (mom was born in a zero bedroom flat that held 7 people in an unstable communist country--knew zero English until age 14--and dad in a home with zero indoor plumbing--couldn't speak fluently until age 24) while coming to an America that was not nearly as tolerant as today. And Democrats' actions? Call them privileged products of a racist system designed for their benefit (lmao), seek to rip away everything they toiled a lifetime of 90+ hour workweeks to earn with tax rates to, and racially discriminate against their children in the name of "fairness"
Donald Trump is a despicable man, not conservative, a petulant child with his temper tantrums, has handled the virus horribly and may be damaging the Republican Party in the long run in the face of changing demographics. I am still not convinced the best thing for the future of American conservatism isn't for him to be beaten soundly so the GOP can move to a less polarizing and immature mouthpiece and perhaps a more moderate/fiscal conservative platform--which is why I am not sure about voting for him despite agreeing with a large part of what he had done policy wise before the pandemic
But before accusing others of having blinders on take a moment to consider the bubble you are in (applies to the hardcore pro Trump crowd too and everyone really) and whether insulting people you don't know is the best way to achieve your goals (didn't work for Hillary)
