I don't understand stripping. (1 Viewer)

People really need to put on Chris Rock whenever they think about blowing money at a club. Unless you're Arizona Ron and have a bunch of racks to spare, it's a bad move.

:toilet:

Why would anybody go to watch a baseball game when they can watch it on their iPad's or tv's?  It's a completely different experience.   Most people don't go to strip clubs alone. They go with a group of friends/buddies.   It's like going to a regular bar--but one that has a better view.  Looking at provocative/nude pics on an electronic device is a completely different experience than hanging out with a group of friends at a strip club.

I wore sandals once to an establishment and when the girl dropped it real low whilst dancing in front of me my big toe got the champagne room treatment...that ain’t happening on the interwebs; some experiences are better in person and worth $20
is there glitter still on that toe today? or a fungus

Not really my scene but I think it's pretty obvious why being there in person is different than seeing on a screen.

This is one of the strange parts to me.  If I'm looking at that, I don't want my friends hanging around with me.  I don't get the "comradarie" aspect of the activity.

I think its odder to go by yourself. If you are going to a strip bar, then you are going for drinks (crazy overpriced as they are), the social setting* and the added benefit of naked chicks around you.

They make video booth pallors, peep shows and adult movie houses for anyone needing to "look at that"

* I say social setting as I know there is a huge difference in the quality of say a Scores or Hustler Club in NYC vs a dive joint on the side of I495.

Edit: I have not been to one in over 15 years, so I would not consider myself an expert in it.

it's tough when you're bipolar....

My father loved em, pretty much the only extravagance he ever had was getting special services, throughout the 60s & 70s, from a ginormous, black dancer named Silky Doll (after famous, touring, black burlesque performer named Satin Doll). So i liked em too. But i never saw the sense in makin' it rain or VIP rooms and such. Sucker play. And i HATE breast enhancements, so i pretty much lost interest in the Gentleman's Club era.

Be advised, Euro travelers - strip clubs are hard to find and are most often actually whorehouses that use the dancing to display the wares.

I guess you and I go for different reasons when we go to a strip club as a group--which is fine.   When I go with a group of friends--its not like "hey--lets all go and hang out and look at naked women together".  It's more like "let's have a guys night out where we make fun of each other, talk smack, talk sports, talk about the stresses in our lives---all while having a beautiful background".   Basically our motivation is like 85% to have fun chatting with the gang and having fun---and like 15% in paying actual attention to the strippers.

I've gone into one solo.  Met a gal that grew up 2 blocks from me when I was in grade school.  It was an interesting evening, but one that @Bull Dozier wouldn't frown upon too heavily (all chat and it kinda freaked me out).

Love it when you hear about "gentlemen" trying to "save" these misbegotten females by patronizing & telling them there's so much more to life than degrading themselves...

Cue NOFX's "Lori Meyers"...

I am that sucker. And I was that sucker after I heard "Lori Meyers," too.

Tee hee. I actually did turn a place upside down for a while, at least in my own head. It was weird.

i thought they were saying "free tatas"
Decidedly not free.

I love the idea of strip clubs, but still confounded by them in practice.

I never really enjoyed them as it felt like an enormous waste of money -- super expensive watered down drinks, and never felt truly comfortable with the lap dance thing, especially since this you normally go with buddies and having some stripper grind me in front of my friends isn't the most comfortable. I never went alone but that would equally make me feel uncomfortable/like a creeper.

:goodposting:  I never saw the attraction, either.

I lived next door to a couple of strippers when I lived in Columbus - one called herself "Sabre".   Her and the roomie would lay out in the yard at the apartment complex and every guy in the place came to watch them sunbathe.  One night, they were part of a fight that almost dented my car.  I moved ASAP to another apartment complex.

I've seen that many that offer free lunches and many offer drink specials.

I won't provide links for fear of the bannings but you don't need to waste a ton of money if you are popping in for a beer/lunch/some eye candy.

What confuses me are people that go to the video stores.  Is there something going on there that is more live action?

I guess I'm not advocating for going by yourself.  I'd agree going alone is sad (no offense @Vanilla Guerrilla), but going in a group is weird for different reasons.

To be clear, I don't go at all (been twice for bachelor parties, never going back).

crazy horse in san Francisco has a good buffet on Fridays for $5.00, the fried chicken is f'n amazing. Now add in decent drink prices and some women working to earn an extra buck and you have a good way to start the weekend.

To be clear-I go to them with buddies--but not often. It's probalby been 4 years since I've been to one--and all of my experiences at them have been fun and positive. I also totally understand and get why people go to them and have no issue with that. Heck--I've dated a few strippers. Lol.   I just don't see any parallels between what the OP is claiming--viewing nudity and pornography online is a completely different experience than going to a strip club.

One has not lived until one has spent some time at a German FKK Club.

Google “FKK Sharks Vimeo” if you wanted to watch a NFSW video showing a great place in Darmstadt.....

American shake joints are absolute garbage in comparison. All of them. Mons Venus? Spearmint Rhino? They don’t hold a candle to FKK...

The Germans won this war. They’ve perfected the experience.

This is merely a parody of the "I don't understand shipping thread".

I know a guy who has married two strippers.

The first one was certifiably nuts and eventually took him for all his money. Had to file bankruptcy. No kids, but lots of fake pregnancy drama (even after they were broken up for over a year).

He didn't learn his lesson so he married another stripper 3 years later. This one eventually quit the biz, went back to school, became a schoolteacher, and by all accounts was a pillar of the community and a great mom to their 3 kids. Also, she filed for divorce after 8 years and took him for all his money.

He now spends most nights in various strip clubs around town, trying to convince various dancers to go out with him. It's not as easy when you're 40, drive a beat up Hyundai, and live in a crappy apartment on the wrong side of town. But there's always a woman willing to let him spend his paycheck on her...

He has a weak pimp hand.

Made the rounds in my younger days. Other than one in Australia on business (customer wanted to go) I haven’t been to one in 10-15 years.

We used to have our team meetings at a local strip club.  The women actually suggested the place.  Great team bonding once you see all of your coworkers join in on lap dances and end up half nude themselves.   Good ol days.

Wow,  just wow . Google the word clueless and this guy wins first result.

I went once for a bachelor party, and I found it really depressing all around.  I've never been back - I'm the master of the Irish goodbye if a group decides to go - last time was in Hamburg when I just melted into the crowd near the Reeperbahn and caught a taxi back to the hotel.
