2019 NFL Playoff Teams - Who You Got? (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Over the past 12 years, there has been a 50% turnover rate in teams making the playoffs from year to year. In 2018, there were 7 playoff teams that did not make the playoffs in 2017. In 2017, there were 8 playoff teams that did not make the playoffs in 2016.

Who will be playoff bound after the 2019 regular season? Last year's playoff teams were NE, BAL, HOU, KC, IND, LAC, DAL, CHI, NOS, LAR, PHI, SEA.

I had to definitely stretch to get to 6 new teams, so to play along as best as I can, here is my list.

NE, JAX, KC, PIT, CLE, BUF, PHI, MIN, ATL, LAR, NOS, SEA

So PHI, NOS, CHI, LAR, SEA, NE, HOU, KC, LAC, and BAL would all return to the post season and the only newcomers would be ATL and PIT? Historically, that would be a very unusual outcome.

Philadelphia
Green Bay
Chicago
Atlanta
New Orleans
LA Rams

New England
NY Jets (my surprise pick)
Pittsburgh
Jacksonville
Houston
Kansas City

I think the Chargers just miss out, the Browns get off to a tough start due to their brutal schedule and get too far in a hole to make it, and Dallas misses out and Jason Garrett finally gets the axe.  I might end up taking Seattle over New Orleans, who I feel is gonna fall back to the pack big time.

5 New teams make it this year.

NFC:

        East: Eagles

        South: Falcons

        Central: Vikings

        West: Rams

Some additional food for thought. Last year, KC, LAC, LAR, CHI, and NO all won at least 12 games. The Chiefs, Chargers, Rams, and Saints have never had back to back seasons winning at least 12 games. The Bears did it once (1985 and 1986).

Ok, i’ll take a shot:

AFC East - Pats

AFC West - Chiefs

AFC South - Texans

AFC North - Browns :o

NFC East - Eagles

NFC West - Rams

NFC South - Falcons

NFC North - Bears

AFC WC’s: Ravens / Jags

NFC WC’s: Saints / Cowboys
