2020 albums/songs thread. Kupcho hasn't been around in a while. I'll try and change the thread title on Fridays. Give me your playlist links and I'll add below.    Stereogum most anticipated

In addition to that great Andy Shauf track, here's a few of my favorite new tracks: Feel the Way I Want by Caroline Rose : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3EwDk1zY6g Unchained by Devon Gilf

Hum's reunion album is pretty good if you liked them the first time around.

Just now, Nigel Tufnel said:

I know nothing about the 1975. Should I bother?

Their new one is 80 minutes and expected to be all over the place genre wise. I’m super excited for it but it may be a love it or hate it thing. Try these from the new one

The all over the placeness is a big part of the attraction for me.

I'll admit I really don't get Superchunk's new album, Clambakes Vol 2 etc. sounds like they got on stage somewhere and went for pure improv... not in a good way.

kinda liking the Foals remix album... when I'm in the mood for bootsandcatsandbootsandcats...

new Cayucas single, yeah yeah yeah works for me as an easy breezy summer tune.

It's #1. I've heard only about half of the albums ahead of it, but I'm sure the other half I haven't heard isn't as good either.

I really like him. Probably need to venture down the rabbit hole because I haven’t heard anything before Worry.

Tried to listen to Fetch The Boltcutters or whatever, got about four songs in, and it sounded just like its cover, the product of a crazy woman. I love Fiona Apple's early stuff, but I have no desire to listen to a loon dirge for about four minutes a pop.

Perhaps it deserves another listen, but that's my first impression of it.

I gave it a couple spins when it came out. A few good moments, and then some Yoko dolphin calls, fist banging on drywall percussion, dogs, screaming, fist on wall percussion again, more shouting or perhaps screaming, a Melody here or there. Then it was over. Oh yeah, there was some piano here and there too.

I don't get it

It's on a lot of best of the year so far lists, maybe because its general unrest is a microcosm of 2020. Shrug

I can just see many people having a girlfriend who loves it and having to grin and bear it. Oof. "Yes. That's good. Unbridled loon calls to other loons. Love it."

Wow. This is something else. Just a stunning surprise, though these things were rumored to have been in the works for a while. I hear a lot -- a lot -- of Loveless in this first song. Perhaps it's those notorious pitch shifters one hears so much about in shoegaze.

This is really good.  Great find - thanks!

Reminds me of The Operators, which is high praise in my book.
