Went to Costco for essentials, given Washington's state of emergency and urging for social distancing.   They still don't have any toilet paper, but I got the following list.  I think I'm better off than some goofball with an TP fortress:

1.5 liters Bulleit bourbon

1.5 liters Kirkland brand vodka

1 case of seven seas rude parrot IPA

8 pairs puma socks

1 pack (8 cans) yellowfin tuna steaks

1 humongous bag of dried mangos

1 bottle generic claritin

1 plastic jug mixed salted nuts

1 hot dog and pepsi

I should be good for at least 4 days.

Read yesterday that based on the number of reported positive cases in their ministry,  Iran is either undergoing one of the greatest coincidences of all time or is underreporting its public cases by a factor of 250.

(a bit early tonight, gone for the evening.  Most countries have updated, mostly only remaining USA cases will rise. Lots of disparity in USA days already online imo, as there seems to be no centralized figures)

My 70+ year dad who lives in arizona just told me there is no stopping his plans to go to the Laughland casinos in a few days.  

Seems casinos and older people are going to be a giant breading ground

 
My son's volleyball tournament this weekend - which will bring thousands of kids and adults from coast to coast to a convention center here - has just announced the cutting edge protective measures it is putting in place:

we will be implementing the following match procedures, effective immediately: The match will begin with both teams lined up on their respective endlines. The first referee will beckon the teams to the court. The teams will proceed to their respective 3-meter (10-foot) attack lines (not the centerline). Once there, they will wave to the opposing team, exchange verbal good wishes, wave to the crowd and proceed to their positions on the court for the line-up check. At the conclusion of the match, the first referee will send teams, players and coaches to the end lines. He or she will then beckon them again to the attack line where they will exchange greetings and congratulations there.

Keep seeing around 3% or more mortality rate. Fauci said the other day probably around 1%. That would mean actually around 3 times as many cases than reported. So say around 3500 cases in US now. In 10 weeks doubling each week we are at 3,584,000 infections and 35,840 deaths.

Don't see any numbers broken down by age, but the country as a whole is fairly young since so many people fled the country or were killed in the 1970s.  Their death toll doesn't track the average age of the country, and there are way to many people in government getting it for them to have so few public cases.  Numbers went up a lot the last two days.
