SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
Weird time frame, I know. Let me explain.
My daughter and I are like the same person, but in different bodies. She has the same type of sense of humor and she especially has the same stubbornness as me. If I tell her to watch a TV show or a movie, she'll say it looks dumb. Now, if a celebrity mentions that same movie or show, she'll binge the entire thing in a weekend. And I get that. I was the same way with my dad. But I told her I was going to put a list together and when she gets into her 20's or when I die, she can have this list to look back on and watch the movies I've suggested. Kind of like a way for her to remember me by. And a cool way to make her feel bad from beyond the grave, if I do end up dying.
So I have a list of about 25 movies. And they are my favorites. And I think I got most of them. But every so often I'll see a movie and I'll think, "Holy crap. How did I forget about that one?' Now, I don't want to just name every cool movie during that timeframe. These are my favorites. So I'm trying to keep my list kind of tight.
But I thought if everyone threw out a couple of the movies they considered their faves from the era, it might help me with my list.
You can list whatever, because it's not like I'm taking every suggestion on here, but my criteria has been:
1) Is it one of my favorites?
2) Does it stand the test of time?
Because there were a couple that I loved, and rewatched recently and thought, "God. That is terrible." Not because my tastes have changed, but because in order to understand things you need a knowledge of that era.
So have at it. Let's hear some of your favorites.
