Born Oct 21, 1998

6'4" 209 BMI 26.05

4.61 on the 40
9 bench press reps
124" broad jump
36.5" vertical jump
7.01 3 cone

Entering his junior season at age 20 he put up 86/1171/13
Entering his sophomore season at age 19 he put up 59/876/5

I don't know much about him just wanted to start a thread. He was a mixed bag at the combine but seems to be a jump ball specialist with great hands and long arms. Some people have called him a round 3/4 pick. In the right spot maybe he sneaks into the 2nd round of rookie drafts. I currently have him as 10th WR behind Aiyuk and in front of Pittman. Subject to change.

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compares Oregon State WR Isaiah Hodgins to Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison.

Though the athletic tools aren't terribly enticing, Hodgins (6'4/210) has the skills to play inside and outside in the NFL. Zierlein notes Hodgins has "instinctive ball skills and body control" as well as "great awareness to protect the catch with his frame," making him an excellent candidate to be a team's possession receiver. It's tough to find instances of Hodgins completely torching defenses over the top or with the ball in his hands, but he is a consistent chain-mover. Zierlein sees Hodgins as a high-end backup who may develop into a starter in a couple of seasons.

Bills selected Oregon State WR Isaiah Hodgins with the No. 207 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Hodgins (6’4/210) was a productive three-year starter who led the Beavers’ receivers in receptions in all three of his seasons. After an 86-1,171-13 junior season, he declared for the draft early as a 21-year-old. On tape, he was a patient route runner who tracked the ball very well. He catches it with his hands and has a big frame that allows him to high point passes. Unfortunately, he showed 4.61 speed and 45th percentile Adjusted SPARQ athleticism at the NFL Combine. Hodgins has everything but the juice, so he profiles as a depth receiver and special teamer in the NFL.

Love him.  Biased, but he's fun to watch.  Catches everything.  Had a great year in an up tempo offense.  Like Luton though (who went to Jax), I wonder how he will be on a  run first/defensive mind set team.

I've been waiting this whole time for the Bills to take more of a prototypical bigger WR. I think he can step in right away, if he is any good. I was hoping for a higher draft spot, though, but I think the depth chart is ripe for opportunity, obvious exception of Diggs. Brown is better as a role player from here out, I think. I'm not holding my breath here though.

Ya.  I mean I'm a Beavers fan so have been going to games and watching him play for 3 years.  The system our new coach implemented really skyrocketed everyone's numbers.  He had a huge year though and our QB locked in on him all the time because he could get open and caught everything.  I think he will be solid in the NFL, but I don't see massive numbers as he needs the volume.  He'll make your squad for sure though and I hope he succeeds there.  Allen does love to sling it.

I'm not a Bills fan, though I am pulling for them. Actually I live in Portland, OR so naturally I haven't been to Resers and I'm a Chicago Bears fan. Because Portland.

As long as you're not a Ducks fan then skipping out on Reser is ok.  But you're so close and games are a blast, you should check it out.

Isaiah Hodgins caught 5-of-6 targets for 44 yards and one touchdown in the Giants' Week 13 game against the Commanders.

Hodgins has now gone for 40+ yards in two of four games this year, with Sunday's game also featuring his first career touchdown. He connected with Daniel Jones on a six-yard touchdown early in the third quarter to give the Giants a 20-13 lead, and hauled in three other catches of 10 or more yards. Hodgins is well off the redraft radar, but anybody looking for an interesting dynasty stash could store him away in hopes of a bigger year in 2023.

@barackdhouse - I am requesting a thread title update on this one

Isaiah Hodgins caught all four targets for 37 yards in the Giants’ Week 15 win over the Commanders.

Hodgins did all of his work in the first half, going without a target in the second as quarterback Daniel Jones threw for only 56 yards after the break. While he remains a key cog in the pass game for the Giants, low weekly volume leaves much to be desired for any fantasy value down the stretch.

He looks good and has been since he started starting. Bad combine probably dropped his draft stock. And going to a team with so many wr's ahead of him didn't help. Giants needed help and grabbed him off waivers. Wonder if they re-sign him.

Isaiah Hodgins caught 8-of-9 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Wild Card Round win over the Vikings.

Hodgins led the Giants in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. He also scored a 14-yard TD. Hodgins has formed a wide receiver trio with Darius Slayton and Richie James and will be in play to leave the Giants in receiving against the Eagles in the Divisional Round. Hodgins is essentially operating as a possession receiver, but the Giants were aggressive about passing the ball in this game and could air it out if trailing against the Eagles next week.

Whoops- had to choose between holding Bellinger or Hodgins in dynasty. Mistake dropping him but could also be the next Fulgham

Do the Bills really not know how to evaluate WR's when they draft?

I think the Giants definitely retain him - he seems to have really good hands and has become a trusted WR for Jones.

Hodgins also has unteachable size (6'4"). If I'm looking at the stats right -- in every game Hodgins got 5 or more targets (including the playoffs), Hodgins has scored.

Now of course, TDs are variable so that won't hold up over time. It does speak to Hodgins earning trust in that offense, though.

Giants fans, do you see him being a starter in 2023? Is he legit? Looking for later round dynasty sleepers, between he and Curtis Samuel who do we want for 2023?

If they run 3 WR sets I don’t see how he’s not one of them. I’m not sure if they’ll sign a big free agent or use a high pick at WR - but my guess is they’d only do one of them not both.

I’m a Jets fan not a Giants fan, but in the market - and inserting opinion in as well.

Giants run a ton of 11 personnel... I'd figure Slayton is gone (due for a pay bump and you don't pay WR4s) and Sheperd would be cheap coming off his ACL tear. You figure Wan'Dale/Hodgins/ whomever they draft/either Richie james or Shep/? .

I'd try to get a WR later on in the draft, Giants desperately need a cover guy at LB or CB early.

Giants WR Depth chart (not in order per se)

Hyatt 6'0"185
Slayton 6'1" 190
Campbell 6'0" 208
Hodgins 6'3" 201
Shepard 5'10" 196
Robinson 5'8" 185

Last year from week 13 through the WC round, he had 48 targets for 33/355/5 which would prorate to 93/1005/14 over a full season.

Hyatt competing vs Wan'dale in the slot and Hodgins/Slayton/Campbell competing on the outside? Does that sound about right? I realize this squad is an enigma right now and we'll probably learn a lot more about the pecking order as the summer unfolds, but I really think they have a solid playmaker on the outside in Hodgins and nobody else. He seems to have emerged from the pack at the end of last year and they didn't draft above him. I think Campbell is the only real threat (and probably a real one).

But my point is that if any drafters out there can unlock this puzzle, it might have *some* fantasy gold in it, IMO. I suppose we shouldn't discount the target share that Waller/Barkley might get, but I really tend to think that Hodgins might be the best bet out of all of these WRs for consistent targets and TD upside.

One other note on Hodgins, when I wrote my puff piece on Gabe Davis last year, and when I had researched Davis during his rookie year, there was a blurb out of Bills camp from Smoky Brown, and I used the quote in reference to Gabe, but it applies to Hodgins as well:

“Those two rookies, they the two best that I’ve seen so far since I’ve been in the league. Those guys know the playbook better than any other veteran right now,” Brown said. “With those guys it’s amazing because… they helping us [veterans]. They got this stuff down pat like I’ve never seen before. They have it down pat. We asking them all the questions, they know everything. These kids are smart. They came in and the first week they got the playbook, they knew everything. It amazed me how fast they moved.”

Obviously it would be easy to be wrong. There have been late breakouts before. He turns 25 this year which isn't crazy. He is super cheap right now in all formats.

ESPN's Jordan Ranaan writes Isaiah Hodgins was mostly with the first-team offense during the Giants' offseason program.

Hodgins had a 33/351/4 line in eight games after New York's Week 9 bye and could potentially be someone that has more fantasy value than you'd expect in 2023. The trade for Darren Waller would seem to impact Hodgins' role as a main red zone threat, but Waller doesn't exactly have the best track record with injuries over the last three seasons. Hodgins, Parris Campbell, and Darius Slayton look to be New York's top three receivers heading into training camp.

NYG - Isaiah Hodgins as sure-handed as they come

Source: ProFootballReference.com

New York Giants WR Isaiah Hodgins was one of four qualified receivers who did not drop a pass last season, according to Pro Football Reference.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A sixth-round pick for the Buffalo Bills out of Oregon State in the 2020 NFL draft, Hodgins followed Giants' HC Brian Daboll from the Bills to the Giants and flourished at the end of the 2022 season. Picked up off waivers in November, Hodgins had four touchdowns in the last five regular-season games he played in. In the postseason, Hodgins finished with 105 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight receptions as the Giants earned a 31-24 victory over the Vikings in the Wild Card Round. This year, Fantasy GMs are selecting Hodgins as a late-round flier with upside.
