Backstory short and sweet. I belonged to the MLB boards back when they were around. My team Phillies board myself with a few others decided to create our own Keeper league. Unfortunately the boards shutdown and we were subject to a social media based communication and emails. It's difficult given not everyone had a facebook but most of the guys did so we created our own group for league news and draft and such. Last year we had an issue with two now former managers. The one was always trying to cut corners and predatory trade with players. I co commissioned the league with another member and I had brought some stuff to his attention about this member in the past. It got out of hand with the manager and another member after their trade was vetoed by the league managers for obvious reasons. We ended up banning the one and were gonna keep the other but he decided to act like a child throw a temper tantrum and cut all his players. We had to put all the guys back on and the other Comish and I ran the teams as if they were not being managed by a human. We would make Line up changes necessary for bye and injuries or what would be played to try and keep things fair for managers to not have a free week. We didn't make any roster moves like trades or cuts/signs for the team. Since then our league now is at 8 teams but I have yet to hear from 3 of the managers.
I have myself and a friend of mine I've played before plus 3 guys from my league before and a 4th member who said if we can get enough he's in. I need at least 4 more guys. We are gonna start from scratch so you will not be taking over teams already owned for yrs. The league my guys and I had lasted almost 10 yrs. Its gonna be a Keeper or Dynasty depending on How ESPN allows this to come out. PPR and most likely your regular Def/ST. Was thinking of Individual defensive guys but had a few guys do this before and didn't really like it as much. Not sure if they messed up the player scoring or what on it though. I'm looking to do the draft By next Sun earliest and latest that Wed as the first game is Thurs night. I will most likely be commissioner unless my old commissioner wants to do it as he was really good with keeping track of everything. If he doesn't I'm happy to accept help from anyone who'd like to create spread sheets for trades involving picks and such or anything else. Suggestions are always helpful. The LEAGUE WILL BE FREE considering the pandemic and despite the fact a few of us know each other a few of us aren't comfortable right now having a money league with outsiders just yet. Please don't take that as a shot at you personally though.
If interested please reply here or DM me. Please tell me any past league experiences you have as well. I'm looking for players who won't jump ship after the draft because they hate their draft or quit after one season or half way and try to tank. That won't be happening as we've had our league set up for a losers bracket and whoever wins that receives the first pick. After our prior incidents we've decided we are gonna be pretty strict on not taking any BS. There will be a warning for a first offense if you are causing drama in the league. That including complaining about a deal being vetoed, personally attacking another manager or commissioner, not playing fairly or anything else that is deamed poor sportsmanship. Unactive managing will not be tolerated either. You will be given a verbal warning in season if it happens. This won't happen if you tell us you won't be able to get on for a week or two. If something comes up please let us know or email the comissoner if you wish for it to remain private. The comiss will let the league know there was something the manager needed to handle privately so there's no-one can accuse you of anything. That is all for now
