 🐘 🐴 2020 Presidential Debates thread - 2nd Debate October 15 (1 Viewer)

Trump should have made Biden's decades in the Senate + 8 years as VP the main line of attack throughout the whole campaign. Not the SOCIALISM!!!!! crap.

Yeah I don't think Biden is crushing this.  Being objective, I think he's losing this one.  Trump looks very composed tonight.
Biden can’t crush it because he fumbles his words too much.  He and Trump have both gotten good shots in while I’ve been watching.  Seems even to me but I missed the first 30-40 minutes.

Why can’t he answer why he didn’t do it? Republican Congress is all he had? 5 seconds of silence after as everyone thought he had to come up w something better.  :lmao:
That was the knockout. Trump wins debate #3, just like last time, and everyone goes home googling "laptop from hell". It's over, Trump did it again.

Yes.

I am hearing plans, empathy, succinct points, and understandable responses to challenges.

I am not hearing that as much from Trump.
I think you are hearing what you want to hear.  I’m a registered Republican and for the first time ever, I voted for democrat - Biden. I’m watching this debate knowing I’ve already put my vote in and with an open mind. You are wrong. Trump is winning this one

I think both guys have exceeded expectations.

I think Joe has performed well and had a couple really good moments. I think he also wasted a few opportunities, especially hitting back when Trump called his past performance into question. If he had waited for Trump to hang himself, he could have lost tonight. He didn't do that when Trump came out in good form.

I think Trump has done far better than I thought capable. He's remained mostly composed. He had a couple bad moments but also hit Joe with some items that didn't come back at him. He needed that tonight.

Overall, I think it's been even, if truly undecided, I could see going either way. Perhaps even a slight edge to Trump.

That said, I don't think that's good enough for Trump. I think given the above, it's a "win" for Joe.

Still overall a horrible affair, but miles better than I expected it to be.

Admittedly glossing over that but $4.25 to $5.05 in a higher cost of living area like NJ isn't analogous to $7.25 to $15.00 across the board, including poorer areas in the south, midwest, etc.
For sure. That Krueger article was fairly old, here's House testimony from an EPI economist about a $15 min wage specifically: https://www.epi.org/publication/minimum-wage-testimony-feb-2019/

By and large, economists have really come around on minimum wage hikes since the '80s.

That's a fair assessment.     Trump should've taken this approach in the 1st debate.    He got some terrible advice.
