Genrepalooza Presents: FG Radio - Tons of Lithium but very little Chill (6 Viewers)

I googled it and I'm still baffled
It's an in-board joke. Back when -- I think it was the Dylan thread, yes it was -- we were having a musical discussion, it got waylaid with Zeno Razon, former commenter here, arguing for the merits of buying the first album first. He was insistent that one should buy Bob Dylan's Bob Dylan album first if one were to truly appreciate the artist. It derailed the thread for pages. It was kind of funny. He no longer comments here. Nobody knows why.

lol I do remember that. He was a rather particular kind of a guy.

not required, but I really like the thought process.

pretty cool to hear the growth and varied changes the band/artist went through ...and it would add a lot if you read up on the artist(s) and knew more about what was happening personally to them

Thanks. I remember that now.

Dylan's discography is beyond comprehension even if you listen chronologically.  Boz and I weren't that organized.

I agree that all of that context is great for really digging into an artist and understanding them but it’s a silly line to hold that it’s the only correct way to listen to an artist which I think was his take.

He once posted that taking the Colts and the points over the Chiefs during the playoffs was a lock and anyone questioning him did not understand trends or gambling.

When the Chiefs won and covered easily and people called him out in the thread, and he said he couldn’t account for the cold weather and that changed everything. If only there was some way to predict cold weather in January in Kansas City.

Not enough dice

Cole's tests from TX came back today, and he has a significant Vitamin B12 deficiency.  Things can change, but the plan right now with the vet is for him to have a B12 shot every Monday and Thursday for 6 weeks. He had his first today. He is getting an abdominal ultrasound done by a specialist on Friday to try and discover why he has this deficiency. I hope for the best.

Maybe you posted about this, but why are your tests having to go to TX?

Things turned for the positive at least.

Round 222:

Oh Canada

Fight the Good Fight -- Triumph

Triumph was a Toronto hard rock power trio that navigated the space between Rush and Journey from the late '70s to the mid '80s. The teen/tween me loved them. A number of their songs, many featuring their elaborate-for-1981 stage show, made it into rotation in the early years of MTV. This was one of them, and it became their signature song. Bonus points for lyrics that sound like they're from a between-periods pep talk from a hockey coach.

Bumping this to the new page. Now including KP's Boneyard and Falling Leaves.

Feeling uninspired so think I'll skip my picks today.  Anyone can choose two for me as bonus picks if you'd like!

It's not the categories, it's me.  Well, other than Elvis Channel, which sucks.

Round 223:

Falling Leaves

Little Wing -- Neil Young

Not a cover of the Hendrix song, but named after it. This is one of several songs Neil wrote in the '70s deliberately named after songs by others.

There are three seasons named in the lyrics, but the music seems suited best for fall.

All her friends call her Little Wing
But she flies rings around them all
She comes to town when the children sing
And leaves them feathers if they fall
She leaves her feathers if they fall

Little Wing, don't fly away
When the summer turns to fall
Don't you know some people say
The winter is the best time of them all
Winter is the best of all
