Today when I was driving in the car I heard on the radio "It ain't over 'til it's over" by Lenny.Round 398
Saxy Time
Out of his own thread and into our draft. As discussed he hasn't been drafted yet so I'm breaking the seal.
Lenny Kravitz- Let Love Rule
The covid threads usually have more ignorance in them. What's the bigger trainwreck, the Lenny thread or the non-mainstream COVID thread? I'm afraid to go in the latter if it is what I think it is.
I have not gone in the Lenny Kravitz thread, but the non-mainstream COVID is just about what you'd expect, or at least it was the first day before I gave up on it. Lots of FREEDOM. Lots of "I want real discussion" and then instead 'MERICA LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT. Etc.What's the bigger trainwreck, the Lenny thread or the non-mainstream COVID thread? OK. A safe space for people who think that way. No reason for me to venture in, then.I have not gone in the Lenny Kravitz thread, but the non-mainstream COVID is just about what you'd expect, or at least it was the first day before I gave up on it. Oh, I forgot "God-given right to breathe out of the two faceholes I was given" or something like that.OK. A safe space for people who think that way. The Lenny thread is pretty far out. Hot takes, cold takes, comparisons that make no sense, etc.
So in the past week we've had Abraham Lincoln and Abe Lincoln drafted. Cool.Politico Term Limits Bonus
You can have this channel without these guys but what fun would that be?
Clutch- Abraham Lincoln
I almost drafted Abby Lincoln for the Sinatra/Standards channelSo in the past week we've had Abraham Lincoln and Abe Lincoln drafted. Cool.
This is excellent. Hadn't heard it before.
They replaced it with the Lenny Kravitz channel. I complained too and told them they need to let Love Rule.Since this draft derived from Sirius Channels this is relevant. Today I talked to my mom about what was going on with Cole, and in the background my dad was fussing on the phone to someone. I asked my mom what is he irate about, and she said he called Sirius upset because they have replaced the Love channel with something else.

It’s just one poster who is angry. Mostly everyone else giving him a hard time.OK. A safe space for people who think that way. No reason for me to venture in, then.
If people don't keep suggesting new categories, we'll never finish this draft. The Jam had four UK No. 1 hits. I have drafted three of them. I will probably not draft the fourth unless we have a "songs that blatantly rip off the Beatles" category.
Maybe they are breathing out of their butts like the pigs and rodents in the news story.Oh, I forgot "God-given right to breathe out of the two faceholes I was given" or something like that.
My only thought was are we doing the fantasy football music league this year (I hope so) and won’t that signal the end of this draft? If people don't keep suggesting new categories, we'll never finish this draft.

I took Whitey On The Moon for a channelGonna add two more bonuses to Politico to get it to 50 songs. Surprised neither of these had been drafted yet.

Lots of Barry Manilow on the playlist, from what I can gather. My dad was a dedicated Delilah listener on regular radio, so Sirius Love is probably equivalent to that.
What is this "finish" you speak of?If people don't keep suggesting new categories, we'll never finish this draft.
Yes, the Comedy Central channel that we abandoned because no one got around to building a playlist for it.I took Whitey On The Moon for a channel
My dad used to go to Borders Bookstore all the time when it was around, and drink coffee and talk to strangers. He and some of the regulars formed a group of Borders friends. One time he had a going away party for one of the friends. I came to the party, and he had music playing on his outdoor speakers. He wanted everyone to quiet down when The Rose by Bette Midler came on, so they could all take in the beauty of it. When Borders closed they all lost touch, but my parents have a pretty tree in their yard that started from a little plant in a pot that one of the friends gave my dad years ago. They now have a McDonalds crowd, although they haven't been together hanging out inside in over a year. They keep in close contact though, and exchange books to read. My mom loves her books. I guess one day they will start hanging out for late breakfast again.Lots of Barry Manilow on the playlist, from what I can gather.

To actually have an endgame for finishing, we would need to place a moratorium on ideas for new channels and just play out what we have. If we wanted to set a specific date, we might need to have extra channels and picks each day if that date was earlier than far into the future. My take is that this goes on as long as Eephus and Pip are willing to take it since they are doing 90% of the work. I would be more than happy to keep popping in for a couple picks a day for the foreseeable future.
(Although even I will admit that my music knowledge and song picks might start drying up if we get to rounds 700+)
More than likely. My only thought was are we doing the fantasy football music league this year (I hope so)
Oh, that's what happened to it? Too bad. Nobody was really picking songs for that category, were they? I remember a lot of stuff I thought of not being available.Yes, the Comedy Central channel that we abandoned because no one got around to building a playlist for it.
I'm also in for it -- I might knock down to one a day or drift out for a day or so, but I should be here.I'm good to keep going as long as people want.
I'll run the Summerpalooza football league again as well. I think we've done an August draft in the past.
Spitballing here, maybe we loosen/lose the geographical requirements, we keep that you have to have some connection between the player you draft and the song you pick but you also must have an overall theme to your song picks and that gets reflected in your fantasy team name.I'm also in for it -- I might knock down to one a day or drift out for a day or so, but I should be here.
I'd like to do Summerpalooza again and am almost all but in, but how are we going to keep a draft fresh? Seems like a lot of songs...
