I listen to a lot of Wilco, a decent amount of Uncle Tupelo and some Son Volt so that naturally has come up in my Spotify suggestions. It’s a good album.

BTW @Dr. Octopus, I watched about half of the Stones' concert video from Leeds 1982. It's 80s Stones with some atrocious costumes and Bill playing a headless Steinberger bass. It's a massive venue so Mick is more animated than usual and the boys juice up the tempo on a bunch of songs.
I suspect the footage was originally shown live on the big screens at the show because it's a collection of closeups edited together haphazardly.

I missed that he did that. On one hand, perfect! On the other, I was actually trying to get a new band on the sheet, so darn it.
Yeah, it's very cool, IMO. Sometimes they veer too much into psychedelia for me. I like that '65-'67 sweet spot that they're not afraid to hit.

Just in the car and listening to the Beatles channel (duh), and Gavin Rossdale of Bush was doing a "My Fab Four." I reminded OH that Rossdale has fallen so far that he is doing the exact same exercise on Beatles channel that one krista4 did, and he regaled me with the following...
Background: Steve Albini, BFF of OH, recorded Bush's second album after their first blockbuster hit record. They had 14 songs recorded and needed to cut one for the record, and Albini told them that clearly the one that could go is "Swallowed," which became the one and only big hit from this album.
Albini and his then-girlfriend-now-wife were invited to the Rossdale-Gwen Stefani wedding. Albini's wife stole a bunch of cocktail napkins and party favors with the names on them and sold them on eBay.
When Bush toured after this album, their lead guitar dude, a tall bald guy, wanted to be with his wife for some of the dates because of the birth of their first child. Andy Cohen of Silkworm, a tall bald dude and better guitarist, took his place and no one was the wiser, except maybe noticing the improved guitar work.
Also, Rossdale is just a super-nice guy, really a decent fellow.

About 10 years ago I went to a local English pub when it first opened. I ordered a beer and they asked if I wanted it served American or English style and I was glad I asked the difference before ordering. English style was served in a mug instead of a glass and since this was America, the beer came out cold from the tap. They would then take the mug and put it under this thing that looked like a milk shake mixer but was actually a heated rod that would warm up the beer.

When I was in London is was about 50/50 whether the beer you ordered would be served warm or cold - I did not enjoy the warm ones but did get used to it a bit. However I think it was naturally warm and not heated which sounds worse.

Erma and Carolyn Franklin were Aretha's big and little sisters. Both sang in the church choir with Aretha growing up and went on to have careers in the secular music industry.
Erma recorded the original version of "Piece of My Heart", later made famous by Big Brother & The Holding Company. Carolyn co-wrote a number of songs with Aretha. "Deal with It" is the final track on her last album for RCA.

I remember while visiting some countries in Europe that no drinks had ice in them, and most of their cold drinks weren't that cold.

Yep I’ve definitely noticed that too so I just drank wine and that seemed to generally be the right temp. Beer outside of England did seem to be cold though.

I drank red wine in some places, and did some shots too (like ouzo in Greece). I did drink some beer in some countries including England, and tried some drinks of the countries. I had a good warm drink in Switzerland, but I don't remember what it was called. Water was never cold.
