Genrepalooza Presents: FG Radio - Tons of Lithium but very little Chill (2 Viewers)

Oh, I botched the Classic Rewind/Classic Vinyl, too. Too much rewind, not enough vinyl, IMO. Notice we don't have a station called "Hidden Track," which was about the only good thing about the advent of CDs. That and skipping tracks, I guess. If you're a singles guy or gal, that is.

CLASSIC REWIND (repick for my Vinylicious Pink Floyd selection)

52.YM - Shoot High, Aim Low - Yes

From the 1987 Big Generator album. I’ve always loved this song. This relaxing video looks like it’s straight off the Calm app to lower your blood pressure by 20 points.

I saw this performed live in 1987. 😀

One of These Days would not only work for Classic Vinyl, but also R&R Hall of Fame. Hell, probably Road Trip Radio too.

In hono(u)r of my Canadian brother Pitchfork:

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Oh, let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

I went to the pub after work, then Mrs. NV picked me up (scandal! Don't tell NV) and we hung out for a couple hours, then I played online video games with my college buddies. NHL 21, because in  stereotypical Canadian fashion it's much much much more popular than FIFA, Madden, NBA 2K and the like.

Alright, I'll follow with some more classic Canadian (that's right) lyrics. Paul Anka ftw..

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friends, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each chartered course
Each careful step along the byway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh no, no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself then he has not
To say all the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows, I took the blows
But I did it my way

You get to go to pubs.  :kicksrock:
I think I've mentioned here before my local pub has an alley that they've decked out and heated as a patio, so we never go indoors, and that's what we do every Friday. But yes we do have selective indoor dining as well.

Since we're doing Canadians...

Old man lying
By the side of the road
With the lorries rolling by
Blue moon sinking
From the weight of the load
And the buildings scrape the sky

Cold wind ripping
Down the alley at dawn
And the morning paper flies
Dead man lying
By the side of the road
With the daylight in his eyes

I haven't been doing indoor dining anyway, but ours got shut down a couple of weeks ago.  I might have ventured in during the winter months if we could, but it's for the best that we don't.  It's incredible how well the restaurants have adapted; plenty of places here with heaters and partial tents to block the wind, etc.  Trying to go out or order in and support them as much as possible, to the detriment of my waistline.

Half-Canadian counts?

Oh, what a shame
That your pockets did bleed on St. Valentine's
And you sat
In a chair thinking "Boy, I'm such a prince!"
Well, life's a train that goes from February on
Day by day
But it's making a stop on April first

And you will believe in love
And all that it's supposed to be
But just until the fish start to smell
And you're struck down by a hammer

I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin' 'bout half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
Hey, Mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?
He just grinned and shook my hand, "No," was all he said

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on let's go downtown"
She said, "I gotta go, but my friend can stick around"

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say
It's just ol' Luke and Luke's waitin' on the Judgment Day
Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?
He said, "Do me a favor, son, won't you stay and keep Anna Lee company?"

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said, "I will fix your rack, if you'll take Jack, my dog"
I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man"
He said, that's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can?

Catch a cannon ball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here with her, regards for everyone

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And (and, and) you put the load right on me (you put the load right on me)

Life's like a road that you travel on
When there's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend and sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind

There's a world outside every darkened door
Where blues won't haunt you anymore
Where brave are free and lovers soar
Come ride with me to the distant shore

We won't hesitate
To break down the garden gate
There's not much time left today

Life is a highway
I wanna ride it all night long
If you're going my way
I wanna drive it all night long
