Pennsylvania has certified.:pickle:

Governor Tom Wolf

@GovernorTomWolf

Today @PAStateDept certified the results of the November 3 election in Pennsylvania for president and vice president of the United States. As required by federal law, I’ve signed the Certificate of Ascertainment for the slate of electors for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Great news BUT we shouldn't ignore the fact that there were at least THREE counties in Pennsylvania where the Republican board members voted against certification. AND, one of the counties went for Trump anyway, which means that these Republicans were deliberately attempting to disenfranchise millions of voters in other counties to circumvent a legal election.

https://www.citizensvoice.com/news/election/election-board-certifies-election-results-3-2-vote-on-party-lines/article_45c02b38-7a2c-5860-a258-4279eabd5b9c.html

WE NEED TO FIX THE SYSTEM, FOLKS.

Wisconsin is in the 5th day of its recount, which the Trump campaign requested and paid for.  Its become a bit of a ####show due to Trump "observers" thinking their role is to play election cop, but they will get through it and the results will not change.  There may still be a faithless elector issue - lots of noise about that.

Trump brags about Dow 30,000 at surprise news conference, leaves after a minute

Of course there are reasons the stock market has been going much higher.

1. Biden won. No more surprises via Twitter constantly pulling at the markets. A return to normalcy.

2. Janet Yellen being named to Treasury Secretary.

3. Because of 1 & 2 there will almost certainly be stimulus, Cares, PPP, something, to help businesses and citizens in the US.

I think the main reason is the promise of Covid19 vaccines being available in a few months. He did have somewhat to do with that.

Oh goodness

Roger Stone-Tied Group Threatens GOP: If Trump Goes Down, So Does Your Senate Majority BURN IT DOWN

Quote

The group, dubbed the Committee for American Sovereignty, unveiled a new website encouraging Georgia Republicans to write in Trump’s name in both of the upcoming Senate runoff elections, which could determine the party that controls the upper chamber during President-elect Joe Biden’s first two years in office. The PAC argued that doing so will show support for the president in addition to forcing Republicans to address the wild election-fraud conspiracy theories floated by Trump supporters and members of his own legal team.

“If we can do this, we have a real chance at getting these RINO senators to act on the illegitimate and corrupt election presided over by a Democrat party that is invested in the Communist takeover of Our Great Nation,” the group wrote on its new website, writeintrumpforgeorgiasenate.com. “We will not stop fighting for you, the American Patriot, against the evils of Socialism and inferior Religions.”

will the president authorize and allow a new inauguration?  also, spending everyday on the golf course after you lose the election is a bold move, kudos.

Pretty sure this isn't something a soon-to-be former occupant of the Executive branch has any kind of involvement in (Y'know...other than to show up and not act like a toolshed for 45 mins. And even that isn't "necessary" for the inauguration to happen.).  Some kind of joint congressional committee sees to all this stuff, IIRC.

I mean, if memory serves, haven't they already been constructing crap in front of the Capitol to host the event for weeks?  Whether it can actually be held there now, due to restrictions, is another question I suppose.

They'll need dozens of faithless electors from multiple states. And those faithless electors will have to come from very deep blue, long-standing, and highly-vetted members of the respective state's Democratic Party apparatuses. There will be no moles among them.

The bolded is a patent impossibility.

I was worried about a faithless elector when it was looking like Biden might finish at 270, but Biden is well in the clear now. The only reason there were so many faithless electors in 2016 is because they all knew that the race wasn't close enough to make a difference. They wouldn't have defected if Trump had needed them to win.

Thats’ a bold strategy, Cotton.

I thought about Trump going scorched earth on both parties. He is irate that the GOP rank and file haven’t done enough to support him and he could spite them. It would be freakin hilarious if the GOP lost the Georgia Senate seats because of it. I know it’s unlikely, but amusing nonetheless.

Don't worry, the Democrats will find a way to screw it up. Between Trump and Stone and Sidney Powell, the campaign commercials practically write themselves. But the Democrats will probably ignore all of it.

The White House has given formal approval for President-elect Joe Biden to receive the President's Daily Briefing (PDB), according to a White House official.

Coordination on when he'll receive his first one is underway currently.

Gotcha. One of the White House visitors has a similar name, I think. Gotta look it up.

EDIT: confused Shinkle for the aptly-named Mike Shirkey.

BTW, Shirkey (Michigan Senate leader) confirmed that Trump brought Rudy Giuliani into their meeting so that Rudy could push baseless fraud allegations.

Huh?  There were 10 in 2016 (3 were invalidated).  8 of those 10 were supposed to vote for Clinton.   There were a handful of republican electors who resigned rather than vote for Trump.  There were only 2 electors from Texas that were supposed to vote for Trump and didn't, because there was no law preventing them from voting their conscience.

Team Trump announced legislatures in MI, AZ, and PA will conduct public hearings. I will let the legal crowd here explain what purpose this serves.

So, meaningless grandstanding since they have no authority to overturn election results that have already been certified?

Well, in PA, our GOP-dominated legislature has voted to have hearings next year on how the election was conducted. They could conceivably result in changes in the election code or procedures for future elections, such as addressing all the "is it a valid vote or not" issues the courts have had to decide this year. They'll obviously serve no purpose with respect to this year's election.

Yes, they're saying it is to improve things for the future, but they're still giving Giuliani another platform tomorrow.
It won't help him, but  amplifying his message isn't constructive, to say the least.

So...a taxpayer funded trip...committing police resources...so Trump can attend a "hearing" which seems to be nothing more than Republicans meeting to complain about the election without actually presenting any evidence at all?

The event is said to be the first of several planned in battleground states designed to undermine Biden's victory in the election, CNN reported.

Jenna Ellis, an attorney working on the Trump campaign, said the outgoing president's legal team would not "back down" despite state officials certifying Biden's victory.

"It's in everyone's interest to have a full vetting of election irregularities and fraud," Giuliani said in a statement reported by Bloomberg.

"And the only way to do this is with public hearings, complete with witnesses, videos, pictures and other evidence of illegalities from the November 3rd election."

The strategy seems to be since they can't win with evidence in court, is to try the case in the court of public opinion.

So they are going to trot out a bunch of people to lie about what happened to them or what they saw. These are all the examples they've been talking about but never actually claimed in court (because they didn't happen). And millions upon millions of people are going to believe them despite the best efforts of fact checkers. Then what? This can't be headed in a good direction.

Then we have 50 years of people believing in the JFK conspiracy. It’s sucks, it’s frustrating, but life goes on.

Just saw this from Dave Wasserman on twitter. Anyone following this election?

New: last night, Rita Hart (D) netted two votes over Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) in Jefferson Co.'s recount. Here's where things stand in #IA02: Miller-Meeks (R) 196,880 Hart (D) 196,845 Still 3 counties (Scott, Jasper, Clinton) out of 24 that have yet to finalize recount.

There are unconfirmed reports that Hart is on track to pick up 26 votes in Scott Co.'s recount, 9 votes in Jasper Co. and has picked up 1 vote in Clinton Co. so far. That would put Hart (D) ahead by *a single vote.* We won't know until at least Monday. Hey, every vote counts.

Pretty crazy.

I guess they have decided "letting it play out" isn't a winner for them.

I don't think this will work beyond the hardcore base who are still on board.

Strictly anecdotal, but in my circle, amongst the "non-fanatical" Trump voters, they are now seeing him as a bit of a sore loser, and just wish he'd stop.

Their goal is to get the legislatures to choose different electors.

This idea was floated on social media 4 years ago by the left, (Hamilton electors) but I don’t believe any real effort was made to try and get this to happen at that time.

That has been the strategy all along.  Seems to be his strategy with everything...tell everyone how great you are doing and how awesome you are and enough of them will believe it.
