Because he loves to troll people and then suck up to Joe when "serious discussion" doesn't occur.  It's quite weird how much he will troll for a guy that seems to live on internet political discussions

Whoa, this might be the first time I've ever seen a Trump defender label one of Trump's own quotes as trolling.

There are absolutely people a lot of people on Twitter who think this swing in voting is all a bunch of fake votes Dems are pulling out of nowhere.

Yep. Dems voted by mail at a 2-1,at least margin, in most places. This was reported months ago.  Non-republicans are taking Covid much more seriously. (As I posted in another thread there were 260-300 people in line to vote in front of me. Approximately 20% weren't wearing masks. Many of these folks had a Trump shirt or hat on.)Yet people don't understand how mail in votes benefit Biden by a 2-1,at least, margin.

There is still plenty for me to be nervous about.

Trump has a path to victory still.  He has the lead in PA, GA, NC, and a decent comeback chance in AZ.  If you combine the odds of all four events it’s probably pretty low (10-15%?), but there’s no reason for people to act as if this is done.

BREAKING: US Supreme Court orders Pennsylvania Democrats to respond in ballot deadline dispute https://t.co/f0sQR47s06

I don't think there are going to be many ballots that come in after yesterday. I would hope people were smarter than waiting until yesterday to put their ballot in a mailbox given everything that is going on. And we had dropboxes all over the place here. I saw an update somewhere that 500 trickled into Pittsburgh today.

This is just noise and intended to make it look like there is something shady going on in PA.

He will be bragging about how many Twitter followers and continue to Tweet, perhaps suggesting he will consider another run in 2024

The only way they tie from here is Biden picks up GA and Trump sweeps NV, AZ, PA and NC

But if that happens it goes the House where each state delegation gets one vote -- and by this measure the Republicans would have more votes.

Forget this year....I know it’s out this year.

i was really just wondering if they could choose any of the 4 for president and any of the 4 for VP.

First, the Electoral College votes. Each Elector makes 1 vote for President and 1 vote for VP.

Then, the House chooses from the top 3 Presidential candidates. But each state is allocated just 1 vote (so, even though California has 55 Reps, they only get 1 vote and have to decide among themselves who they are going to select).

The Republican party has a huge advantage in this arrangement, so they will most likely vote for Trump. However, if a rogue elector happened to have voted for someone like Mitt Romney -- thus putting him into the top 3 -- then he would be eligible for the House vote for President. So maybe the Republicans would select Mitt? One can dream.

The Senate then votes for the VP, with a more simplified format (each Senator gets 1 vote, and they chose from just Pence or Harris). If there is a tie, then Pence gets to vote for himself to break the tie.

That's it. The President gets sworn in as usual on January 21st.

Gotcha, thanks....didn’t know this

Quote

If President Trump loses his bid for re-election, as looked increasingly likely on Wednesday, it would be the first defeat of an incumbent president in 28 years. But one thing seemed certain: Win or lose, he will not go quietly away.

Trailing former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., Mr. Trump spent the day trying to discredit the election based on invented fraud claims, hoping either to hang onto power or explain away a loss. He could find a narrow path to re-election among states still counting, but he has made clear that he would not shrink from the scene should he lose.

At the very least, he has 76 days left in office to use his power as he sees fit and to seek revenge on some of his perceived adversaries. Angry at a defeat, he may fire or sideline a variety of senior officials who failed to carry out his wishes as he saw it, including Christopher A. Wray, the F.B.I. director, and Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the government’s top infectious diseases specialist in the middle of a pandemic.

And if he is forced to vacate the White House on Jan. 20, Mr. Trump is likely to prove more resilient than expected and almost surely will remain a powerful and disruptive force in American life. He received at least 68 million votes, or five million more than he did in 2016, and commanded about 48 percent of the popular vote, meaning he retained the support of nearly half of the public despite four years of scandal, setbacks, impeachment and the brutal coronavirus outbreak that has killed more than 233,000 Americans.

That gives him a power base to play a role that other defeated one-term presidents like Jimmy Carter and George Bush have not played. Mr. Trump has long toyed with starting his own television network to compete with Fox News, and in private lately he has broached the idea of running again in 2024, although he would be 78 by then. Even if his own days as a candidate are over, his 88-million-strong Twitter following gives him a bullhorn to be an influential voice on the right, potentially making him a kingmaker among rising Republicans.

“If anything is clear from the election results, it is that the president has a huge following, and he doesn’t intend to exit the stage anytime soon,” said former Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona, one of the few Republican officeholders to break with Mr. Trump over the past four years.

After reportedly being extremely angry at Fox for calling AZ first out of the main networks, maybe he tries for revenge on Fox and starts his own TV network?

This is all assuming Biden hits 270. Which he hasn't yet to my knowledge at least.

Trump cost the GOP the presidency with his buffoonery.  He potentially lost AZ by insulting a war hero and he alienated people like me by being a knucklehead.  If I had to guess, the GOP will never have anything to do with him again.

On Fox, Hannity is saying he no longer trusts the US election system and Tucker is saying for many Americans, they will never trust another election result again. They aren’t stupid and understand what has happened but that doesn’t fit their show model.

Continued erosion of norms in this country. All for ratings and money. It's despicable.

They don't really have a choice.  They didn't want anything to do with him in 2016 either.   If he wants to run again in 2024 and he's still got his health and especially if the economy isn't doing well, he'll be a huge threat.

Looks like the Trump supporters are yelling and chanting outside he voting center in Phoenix. Police are not allowing them. They are peaceful but rowdy from what I can see.  Funny they are saying the opposite of what the Michigan crowds were saying: “Count those votes!”

Seems like suppressing your own vote.  "It's all a scam, why even vote?"

The Republican Party is Trump.  If he loses   over the next couple of days, either he or his handpicked successor will be the de facto front runner for ‘24.  He ain’t going to go quietly into the night.  There’s too much money to make.

No, the Trump people have totally turned on Fox because they called Arizona for Biden. I’ve seen a lot of that on social media today.

Maybe but haven’t the House and Senate GOP candidates out performed Trump?

Am seeing conflicting reports as to how many remaining votes there are to count.  Google showing 98% of vote accounted for, but NYT showing 95%.  Both show 33k vote advantage for Trump.  If 98% is accurate, it's Trump's.  Anyone know how many votes are still to be counted?

This si what I am seeing as well. Certainly looks like he was a drag.  Nevertheless, I think his ability to be kingmaker, the money of his supporters, his ability to destroy political careers with a tweet...all of that means that he'll be tied to the GOP like Hillary was to Bill through the 90s.  It's a marriage of convenience

No, that seems to be the big mystery.  If you look county by county what’s left, it looks really good for Biden.  He should pick up 12k alone when Clayton county is fully in.

and at some point in the last hour, Biden became favored to win GA on Bovada.

Nope, Fox called AZ for Biden. Trump supporters chanting Fox News sucks is a very 2020 thing to happen.

I was actually expecting to be inside that building but they never called me back. Kind of glad now.

Thanks...And I saw the Bovada figures and was confused as I couldn't understand how he could pick up 33k with <100k remaining (assuming 98%).  That's when I saw the conflicting data elsewhere.

Earlier today, the Georgia Sec. Of State said that there were at least 149K ballots remaining (but at the time, NBC was showing 268K ballots remaining).

Therefore, I would say that there are at least 128K ballots remaining, but possibly as many as 247K.

If it's 247K, then Biden only needs to win 57% of the remaining ballots. If it's 128K, then Biden needs to win 63% of the remaining ballots.

Biden has been winning the late ballots at a rate of around ~65%...

He was saying that his unit has 149k to process. It could be that another 100k have cleared his area but still haven’t been submitted to the total count. I wish they’d ask questions like that.
